nice goose! - like the green. love the 'have to keep up with the kids' as an alibi, must remember that one!!
hey, bunnings do have some 900mm tubs for around the $55 mark...

South Eastern sounds good-Ill be late.Hopefully before noon. Should I bring the big one or small one?
Kurt.
May 1 2009, 03:16 PM
Yeah thanks Diavolo - have seen those at Bunnings. My Cook would just fit in - about 880mm, but my DBs are about 920mm. I also wanted one that would fit 24" and 26" frames too. My 26" Cyclops for example has a 23 1/2" Tob Tube and was way too big!
Plus, also, the Bunnings ones are too small for jelly wrestling!

May 1 2009, 06:59 PM
from memory they were 420mm wide.. i do have a 970mm x 450mm x 180mm flat 'under bed' tub, but it has a crack in it. i've been going nuts trying to find another one coz that would be perfect. it would be full of oa, but no waste coz you can lay frames flat instead of upright!! if anyone spots those LMK where at!!
oh, but no jelly wrestling in that on either...

hmmm - so now I can make a fortune splitting a moose frame and forks?
were there any questions about what forks fit a Moose?
Mick - you do know that OA works better if you watch it whilst drinking a beer...

That Moose was madness. There hasn't been one for a while though - and they do occasionally go completely crazy - remember that f&f & stem that went for about 2K a year or two ago...
Almost as crazy as people being fooled by a cheap broken knockoff stem with a Mongoose sticker!!!
Kurt.

Nice tub of gear Mick!
Did a dry run yesterday putting my CBR together. Crappy photos, but you get the idea...

Mark - Velocidad
Gary - Johnny Chopper
Damon - caferacer
Trevor - supermax crmo
as well as a few of the other guys from other bmx sites too!

Must be the way the second photo is taken Kurt, but it looks like the head tube angle is around 45 degrees. Perhaps the slant stem accentuates it. Looking good though.
Reece, must be good to meet a few more of the guys. Love that last PK.

May 3 2009, 03:38 AM
Great stuff guys - looks like you had fun in Melb. Nice day too. Get plenty of interest in the old stuff Reece?
LOL James - yeah, the Brothers Cook, for all their experimental and groundbreaking stuff, were a conservative bunch when it came to frame geometry. Steering head angle was 70 degrees - which is very middle of the road. A DB Turbo, which has fast steering, runs a 74 degree head angle.
I always run a 2.125 front, so that lays it back a tad more too I guess. I really love the attention to detail on Cook frames though. Better even than JMC I reckon.
