Sneak peak of what Im bringing to Roberto's Show & Shine...LOL

Kurt.
Nice Mick!

Prefer that shade of red to the original cranks. Best mate of mine bitd had a red set - and they were this awful purply-red colour...
Volcano
You can thank Waz for that Awesome colour!!!! I need decals....hmm...now where can I get them?
QuicksilverBMX
Well I finished my daughters birthday build and she loves it! I put some old fuans on until Kurts grips arrive (should be tomorrow todays a public holiday here) thanks to the guys that helped out with the parts!

Kurt.
Cool Reece - bit surprised they haven't turned up yet - posted Thu AM in a next-day envelope. Bloody Australia Post!

Bike looks very cool!

Well, thanks to Matty's heads up (JMCGT) I'm a little closer to my OEM KZ-1 build...I picked up a blue lightning bolt Elina...pretty scruffy one by the looks of the picture, but still it will do for now...until Adam/Martin decide to donate their's to me for the "I can't afford to buy OS parts any more fund"... biggrin.gif

Then this morning whilst doing my daily ebay scan I came across a NOS blue IRC Z-1 Tire. So now all I need is a front one (hopefully this doesn't take 3 years like the black DB one took me!) and I have all the parts for an exact OEM KZ-1 build....

I have to decide if I go for the fully restored finish (which means extensive re-finishing, i.e full re-chrome and some anodising) or the very good condition survivor look....I'm leaning towards survivor...but I can't really decide...

On another note, I had a random unplanned sighting yesterday whilst down the beach with some friends....a mate of a friend pulled up on a complete clunker MTB (read beach side rustbucket). I wasn't really taking a lot of notice, then when I glanced across, and saw a long reach stem on it...I thought it looked familar so I wandered over for a glance and sure enough, it was a Hutch Western "H" freestyle stem!!! It was looking pretty sad, but totally ding free...As this guy is a mate of a friend, I asked what was the history of it? Did he know anything about it??? He was like "nah, it just some dunger that was left behind in the unit he was renting"...Anyway, he wasn't real keen on selling, just couldn't be stuffed really...I'm sure if I rolled around to his place with another replacement one he would probably let it go...just cool to have a total random sighting...just providing there is still some cool stuff still out there!

LOl Thats a classic. He's on JJJ and he swears his head off on there too!

Thanks to the powers of ebay I have finally found a seat for my mono shock. It turned up today and it's perfect! Now I need a chromer.
Nice cranks boys. Mick the DX look great.
Kurt.
Lovely cranks Jake! OG chrome or re-done?

Good news Stu - I love a very clean survivor. Much more relaxing to ride too.

Cool Reece! Just let me know what I owe you.
Sumo178
Redone Kurt. Pic doesn't do them justice. The chain ring will be replaced with a mint version of the same thing.

Just need the hubs to match the spider and some bottema's then the build can be finished.
Jarvi
Hey Reece, looks like you daughter has the right bike for the Friday night cruises with you. Maybe not quite old enough for the stop at the pub though.

Whilst I'd love to say I stumbled upon a old school BMX in the couple of days I just spent back in Tassie I can't. Did see some beautiful cars on the Spirit of Tasmania that were heading over for Targa. Much more professional these days compared to the first race where many people just slapped a couple of stickers on their daily driver and took it for a spin. Here's a couple.

This one was from Queensland I think.

This is the one from the museum in Germany if one of my mates is correct. Funny thing is many were on either open or enclosed trailers and this was just driving along as a normal car.

84profile
I had aspirations of entering my old RX-2 into the Targa many years ago, that is now a faint memory....but I would love to get down there to watch...it has got to be one of the most real forms of driver and car ability on the planet.....I was lucky enough to go to the Porsche factory many years ago and the collection of cars they have is astounding...thanks for sharing the photo's James...
pr200
Nice cars!

I was lucky enough to do a stage/leg in an old Nissan 300Z a few years ago when i was a part of a silly reality based show shot in Tassie, (Although not at the same time as the Targa...) also had a go at skirmish with two choppers firing upon us, great memories, had a good time in Tassie!!

diavolo

MisterT

Is this a regular show guys?

Thanks.
Volcano
Here is last year's flyer - Roberto's is at Morningside (eastern suburbs of Brisbane)...yes, it's an awesome Annual event!!!!

MisterT
wow, the poster looks good, so I rekon the show would be too!

That would look good on my shed wall!

Kurt.
Thanks Reece! Awesome on the car - local car? - I saw there was a silver one over your way on Trading Post.

Looking forward to reassembling the old girl and going for a ride. For folks that don't know, Reece has been good enough to sell me his Kos - I've been after a qualiy 26" for a while - and you can't go past the Kos!

Cool spy pics James. Love the Porsche.

Targa is great - passed a few Targa cars last night (drove down to Hobart yesterday). Every year it seems we get more and better lineups. If it doesn't rain the Lamborghinis might be very competitive this year.

One of the "touring" stages of Targa runs straight past my house - so we get out and lean on the fence - or even set up on the nature strip and watch the action each year. Fantastic cars.

If any of you fellas want to come down and watch Targa some time, I can always find you a bed at our place - we are in Ulverstone on the northern coast - about 15 Kms west of Devonport.

Also if you are after any Targa merchandise, just let me know - plenty around in the shops here.

Did you guys see the plates on my '72 Torana?

Kurt.
Brrrr. Snow on the mountain here in Hobart this morning!!!

Hey Reece - did those grips turn up?
QuicksilverBMX
Yeah mate grips are here, daughter loves em' cheers!

Dig them LJ's Kurt! Good to see one without some B.S. blown V8 hanging outta the hood, they're plenty quick enough as a six! A mate had one years ago that did high 11's on the quarter - turbo 192....scary stuff!

Perth - max 29 today & fine - why are you guys over there???

After attack of the Autosol....not too bad, nickel is gone in some places, like the matchbox:

Will build back up as is for now

Hey James - your info was right - the Porsche is from the museum. It's a "1960 356B 1600 GS Carrera GTL Abarth". Italian handmade aluminium body and being driven by Klaus Bischof, Manager of the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart.
