Yes Mick there are a couple of other threads with that one. I need to learn those backwards manuals. Saw Kevin Porter doing them in a video a week or so back and thought they looked cool. Of course I probably need to learn normal manuals and just rolling backwards first.

I never realised standing up rolling backwards was so much more difficult than doing it sitting down until I tried it.
COASTY
Thats a crazy vid Mick. The guys got skill. Theres a good copy of it on Vimeo too.
Thanks James. Lookin forward to them. Appreciate it mate.

Kurt.
That is a mindblowing vid Mick. Just astonishing! Thanks.

Kurt, send em over!

Brad, not quite, they're for a BMX not a dragester!
Brisben
Hey Mick

Cool Vid - can you believe the guy in that is 21!!!! (where on earth did you find it LOL)

Do you guys reckon this is another evolution of bikes - the whole trials thing?

Sort of BMX meets Freestyle meets Flatland meets MTB meets motorbike trials...

I did see an OZ site where they are trying to set up comps and shows and stuff, when you see all the teens riding bowls and stuff it makes sense to try and keep them going on 24" trials bikes as they outgrow them (size wise that is - not in passion)

they still have vintage bmx to thank though

diavolo
yeah, that is nuts... insane balance to ride those fences. it's like watching a video game..
awesome..
Volcano
Yep! Very talented guy!
Ben - Motocross trials riders have been doing that for a while now (well, not the flips & tailwhips LOL) but they use those bike to train on for comps.
Iwantotbuyahutch
Yeah that is a great vid Mick. He seems to have amazing balance, and man you need to have balls to do some of those tricks. I like the people rushing to the edge of the bridge to look over on the last one! They must have thought they had a suicider on their hands.

I don't think you could do much of that on a BMX. My guess is that the wheel size helps with balance, but that is obviously only a guess. I haven't ridden many fences like a cat lately......

Awesome riding skills! WOW!!! (you'll like this James)

Danny MacAskill

Sick, SICK riding! Danny MacAskill is a truly gifted individual. If you're into it, check out anything from Ryan Leech (Kranked, The Collective, Roam) or Chris Akrigg's segment from Earthed 3. I never thought I would see anyone make Leech look less than superhuman until that clip from MacAskill.

Leech from Roam: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbuaxOhPAlM
Leech from The Collective: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1F7z4HxpWfA
Akrigg from Earthed 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k80lR_0t0bQ

I was fortunate enough to be at Silver Star in Vernon BC for the Norco VPS fest last year and Ryan Leech not only put on a fantastic trials show but he's no slouch on a downhill bike, either.

Here endeth the 26" sermon, resume your 20" ramblings. biggrin.gif

OK...this isnt VBMX related but it is very very cool!!!!!
Can anyone tell me how they did this????

i know its only a Crossrider, but my 1st cr-mo race bike in 81 was one of these. Quality and geometry seems real good, close to my 79 Mx2.
81 Crossrider Pro, just back from the chromers. Stickers here any day, headtube badge needed...

COASTY
Nice frame. Looks like a cool chrome job too.
diavolo
v.nice danny!! love the chrome job, crystal clear reflections!!
C.R. - constantly rockin!!

guys, those rear drops i'm trying to i.d. are joined to a bike with a tear drop down tube, if that helps. tearing my hair out, i seem to have lost it somewhere... can't remember serial number, think it started with DSBM then 40xxxxxx or something. probably not worth much, but need to i.d. so i can figure out what to do with another matter.

all too ominous!!!

hi Mark. Hicks.
GTHODAD
"i know its only a Crossrider...", They were "FOR WINNERS ONLY" and the best bike ever made. Ill show proof.
Love the frame Danny. Is that frame stamped DSBM-I have a low end CR with a DSBM stamp.
I would say the same frame as Madison Taipan, Yamaha BYZ (just diff gusset)
GTHODAD
Sumo178
The Crossrider Team frames are the all Tange tubing. They are almost the same thing as early Kuwahara's but with the CR gusset. They were made here in Melbourne (Bayswater to be exact).

I'd like a team Crossrider for my collection. One of the only Aussie made bikes I'd own.
JMCGT
Bayswater are the best Chromers...his linishing craps all over others..which makes the chrome brighter..
Sumo178
thank you Jake for finding Star Platers!!!!

Been shopping for my Hutch wheels and these arrived in the mail today. You guys were talking about fetishes the other day, and I reckon Bullseye hubs are my fetish. I never owned a set as a kid, so I am making up for it now. smile.gif I ordered these direct from Steve at Bullseye and asked for SS hardware and orange bearings. He also sent me the original black bearings for nicks.

velocidad
sumo178 - If I can fill in what I know about them, the bmx pro and comets etc were indeed welded in up in Bayswater. The sponsored team riders didn't ride Bmx Pro's frames at all however.. the frames they used were 100% Made in Japan Tange frames (e.g. rhino and hotheart) and Graecross welded the gusset plates on them before rechroming them locally.

there was one at the '95 Knox show, original owner is a member here too - they are an entirely different animal.

my BMX pro restored:

Danny - have shot you an email.
velocidad
haha... i haven't looked through the photobucket folder for ages... here's another pic of my bmx pro.. this was the ebay pic, won it for ~$30 and picked it up on the way home from the St Kilda bike show one year.

oooh nice hubs ^^^^ smile.gif

They look awesome John and will suit you Hutch down to the ground, are you going standard lacing or radial?...No guessing what I'm a fan of...I was always jealous of our mates Dean McNicol and Steven Crane, as they had the best stuff money could buy and that included BUllseyes! I have a vivid memory of the first time I laid eye's on Steve's Black Shadow with Bullseye's... As you know I never had a set as a kid either!!

Steve from Bullseye, is great to deal with, very helpful and most accomodating...I have ordered from him a number of times and had lengthy chats about bullseye stuff...I gotta say I'm interest to know how much of the stock is old school, as it constantly amazes me as he keeps rolling the stuff out...

Matt is now the owner of the Black Pro Racer and Wheels on it.....it still look sweet too!

...ANZAC day, seems to bring us Australians together like no other day....as it should... good3.gif

Yes, it is a sad day for those that lost friends a relatives in the wars, but it is also a day to be immensely proud of those men to keep Australia the great country it is today! To the war veterans and to the virtual "kids" that risked and lost their lives for us all! drinks.gif

This weather is shocking for riding, off to spend a day at Waza's perfect weather for mucking around in the shed!

bought a house!! will move in in a year though. has a 3/4 of an acre yard running slightly down hill need I say there will be a couple of jumps moving in shortly after we do tongue.gif jade loves the idea biggrin.gif actually she's perfectly fine with it just need to work out what to put and who to drive the bob cat.

I have a pair of very faded/used red suzie hubs and a set of black ame standard grips in very good condition free for any one that needs them. just pm me. sorry the free wheel is still on the rear hub. first in first served and speaking of crossriders, I have what I think is a commet fre to anyon who wants to pick it up. it's been silver spray bombed in beaten condition.

I also sent a frame off to some powder coaters in hastings yesterday, he garentees me the powder will be better than paint or he won't release it. could be interesting...
JMCGT

those wheels are on my PK Stu..
Funny thing Jake is thats sort of how i found out who you were...I took my gear down to Rob at Star plating and he said another BMX nut had his gear there too...
