Pardon the intrusion, just wanted to add another Aussie member to this thread. Raced back in the about 79-83 in Tasmania. Mainly in Launceston and travelled to Devonport, Burnie and Hobart for some of the larger races.
Original BMX was a Mongoose then upgraded to a Hutch Pro Racer for racing (first in Tassie with one I think) and a polished PK Ripper for stuffing around on. The sad thing is I can't remember selling them and really wished I kept them.
Current ride is a 2004 Fit Bike Co Series 2 frame and fork and assorted parts.
Intending to head down to Knox for the get together and relive a few memories.

Hi Jarvi, Thats 2 from tassie now isn't it? Lewis is from down yonder as well.
I too had a PK, although I remember selling it sadly. I still have my supergoose which I'm bringing down to Knox. It's a true survivor.
I'll be seeing you down in Knox too. I'm really lookin' forward to meeting everyone.

Speaking of selling our bikes back in the day.....
Who has the worst/saddest story to tell?
How or why did you sell the bike?, etc etc etc
I had a full factory PK Ripper, Landing Gear, graphites, SE clothing, SE helmet, camoflage gearbag and accessories, the whole lot was approx $1100-$1200 bitd.
We put it in the trading post (2nd hand dealers newspaper) at $1000, and each fortnight it dropped, $900,$800,$600,$400,$300....
My folks sold the lot for $250 (the buyer didnt have the full $300 on him) while i was away on a long-weekend camp with friends.
Only the bike was for sale, i had intended to keep my gearbag/helmet/clothing for the memories....
But my folks thought everything had to go....Doh !
Anyway, i showed 'em, and scored nearly every bike there was in the past 10 years collecting hehehehehehe.

Mate thats almost the same story as my PK. I tried to sell mine (almost identical to yours, including graphites) at the track. No takers. So I put it in the trading post too. It even sold for $250. I needed the money to pay a $600 fine for driving in a dangerous manner. I kept the goose and I don't regret it. I just wish I never had to sell the pk.
This was prior to graphites and flights (I kept the flights)

While i have the 'bucket open, this is the only pic I have anywhere of one of my graphite wheels. I only used the front at the skatepark. This is about to drop into fivedock bowl.

you gotta hate that !!!!!! at least you held onto the flights & the goose...
I was stoked a few months ago to open a small plastic box in my shed, to discover it was jam packed full of my old nuts'n'bolts from my race days.
It had all the small stuff like brake caliper nuts, headlocknuts, chainring screws, a freewheel, a pulled-apart Tuffwheel freewheel, brake cable frame clips, valve caps, brake pads etc etc....
man that was fun going thru that box.
Oh yeh, i had a complete goose that i used as my jumping/trick bike.....somehow i scored a quicksilver from a schoolmate and used the alloys off my goose to complete the quickie.....the quickie had 39/22 gearing, it was my mono-bike hehehehe.
Anyway, mum felt sorry for a lady at work who was struggling being a sinle parent and getting near xmas time, so mum forced me to sell off my goose to her (without wheels) for $20.
I wanted at least $100 for it, but obviously that was way too high, so it soon bacame $20. fark !!!!

Thanks for the welcome. Also one of the reasons for joining was to post in what must be one of the longest running threads.
Coastvl, substitute black for blue and you have almost the same as my PK Ripper. Was back in Launceston last weekend and even asked my mother if she remembered me selling them. Guess I was hoping she would say, "you never did, I have them under the house". Unfortunately all I walked away with was some 35mm slides of my racing days.
School and them work just got in the way but I never lost the bug. The road bike was too boring and the mountain bike is fun but not as much as BMX.
Also pulled out some old stickers. Hutch, Oakley, SunTour and SE RAcing rub-ons, a few other Hutch ones, some BMX Plus and BMX Action and a Radical Rick one. Had completely forgotten about Radical Rick until I saw it. Ah them memories...

Great to have another Ozi on here...welcome Jarvi...Talking to everyone on these forums is a blast. Just when your wife tells you your nuts for collecting old bikes, you join a forum like this and find others with the same addiction...oh...i mean interest. The people on these forums are some of the most helpfull guys in bmx. Hope you have fun and enjoy your time here.

VL - this is actually a shot taken at the worlds in usa, when the aussies toured. Jamie Hales, Dean Crisp and Mathew Weeks - so not sure that it is PK on this occasion.

Jamie Hales, Mathew Weeks, Dean Crisp. I used to race against Dean Crisp. Do you guys remember Peter Wert? I was talkin' to him a couple of weeks ago. He bought a skateboard shop on the gold coast. He rode for SE Racing.

I got to see greg hill, stu thompson and a host of the old u.s.a racers at windsor bmx track here in Bris. years ago. That day was awesome too. Saw them all go head first when the gate didn't drop. One of our ozi pro's had a t-shirt that had "who the hell is stu thompson" on the front. HEHAHA.
