If they have an allen key at the back use that, whilst using a normal spanner on the front side of the axle, also a a little heat can help if it is really stubborn...and please, please remember they are reverse thread!!
diavolo
no allen key action, not that lucky.. got the reverse thread thing, checked another pedal to make sure before trying. thanks though..
also, been reading the OA bath thread - just want to clarify, it's okay to do on paint? what do i do to seal it afterwards. i know it's on the thread but it's long and by the time i got to the end of it [with all the drama!! hehe!], well you know.. the quick version anyone?
hope that's not too painful!
DRTYCNSMR
heat and tapping/bashing with a hammer... to loosen the rust

Hmm, that subject came up here just yesterday. I've installed a whole bunch of those "wheel hooks" for hanging bikes vertically in The Bike Room and rearranged the place so I can see the floor again. My girlfriend was trying to find a space to put a freestyler frame that had to make way for the completed bikes and the only space available was in the hallway. "Fsck it", says I, "I'll build a picture frame to put around it."

It wasn't met with the enthusiastic response I felt the idea deserved. wink.gif
AndyDiamond
some pics of the new Hutch cages on my old pedals.
Looks cool!

Cages are slightly thicker than the originals and very sharp.

I just fitted some nice survivor 1 piece Takagi cranks to my cruiser, I like it - makes it more old school for me, not many kids had flight cranks around my part of town BITD, and if they did they sure didn't park that bike outside the deli whilst having some hot chips and a few games of Galaga on a Sunday arvo! biggrin.gif
Jarvi
I loved playing Galaga. One of the best old school video games ever. Of course it was only worth playing once you had the double ships.
broke L345
lovely cruisres!

those pedals look perfect on that bike.

james can someone just rent the F/F set?
AdrianH
Galaga! that brings back the memories. We would go to the pinball paqrlour in Glenorchy (Tassie), there would be 50 odd bikes parked out on the footpath with kids everywhere, all playing Galaga, Space Invaders, Centipede - remember that one with the ball as the controller, Frogger, heaps more. My missus got me a program for the comp that has about 2000 games from the 80's on it, its awesome.

That Hotfoot came up a treat BTW very nice.

JMCGT
I still play Galaga on my playstation to this day...best game ever
QuicksilverBMX

If you google MAME32 you can play all the old school games on your PC, just as they were. They are the equivilent of about 1 gig from memory but this program has a huge selection and its all compressed into a nice little set up. You just need a gaming pad for your PC

Ghosts n' Goblins
Rygar
Wonder Boy
Monster Land
Kung Fu Master
Slap Fight
Raiden
Forrest Wardner
1942
Gyrus

Just to name a few! I had that ROM program on my old computer and my marrige started to suffer!

Brisben
Man I used to love Wonder boy - brings back holiday memories of $2 worth of hot chips and a banana paddle pop at the shops across the road from Dicky Beach caravan park, problem was that the buttons were different to the ones at home, so when I talked myself up to some kind of legend I'd stuff up big time because the buttons were reversed, took the first week of a two week holiday to get used to it then a solid week at the takeaway up the road to change back again!!!!

My first repco mx, with the matt black frame and cotter pin cranks, changed out with a four bolt stem and some motorbike bars and grips used to rust away at the beach between holidays - I sure as hell wasn't going to take my good bike to the beach (have you ever tried to use caliper brakes after riding through salt water?)

Sorry, took it to the storage unit earlier today. Already rearranged the thing a couple of times and it's a bit like a game of tetris, speaking of old computer games.
Brisben
Ahhhh - tetris - that cruel mistress!

Bought a keyring sized LCD tetris in Narita on the way to the UK in '96, I swear I played that thing the whole 12 hour flight from Japan to the UK!!!

Ran the batteries out on a 4 week trip!
COASTY
Nice site and that Hotfoot! I like orange.
I downloaded Space Invaders to my phone about a month ago. Donkey Kong was my favourite.
Volcano
Hey James & Matt - Play it online here biggrin.gif

Galaga

or

Donkey Kong 2

Brisben
Mick - you know it's just not the same without sitting on a upside down milk crate, durrie hanging off the table so the ash can fall on the floor and a row of twenties on the top of the machine for the next guy in line to challenge

I'll have a chiko roll, shout you a potato scallop if you get it, and don't take any bites on the way back... tongue.gif
Volcano
Hahahaha.......That is just sooooo true!!! Wow...many a time that was the scene BITD. Oh....someone took a bite outta ya Chiko (not me though...LOL)

Bradster
Yep got the MAME32 program loaded and have the Logitech attack joystick too! My personal fav was Gyruss, and yeah Galaga on double ships was the way to go!!
We had an old Italian fellow at the local fish n chip shop that would give us a HUGE amount of chips for a couple of bucks - feed us all!
A classic Sunday for me was racing at the local track then off with the lads with a few $$ pocket money, enough for a feed and a few games, then maybe some home made jumps at the local shopping centre and ride the neighborhood until due home time, 6pm sharp! My mother still laughs as she remembers how I would get home bang on 6pm, puffing away. If I was late I was toast!!!
Now THAT was living/BMXing in the 80's!!!!!!!!!!!
Brisben
swap you a kit-kat at little lunch for a game of Oil Panic

JMCGT
done...

yeh thats funny Brad..i was the same...6pm everynight..and puffing
Volcano
COASTY
Sunday for me was about the same. 15k ride from Baulkham Hills to Sevo track. Stop on the way for a session on Galaga at the fish and chip shop in Seven Hills. Race all day, hit the quarry at Blacktown (hospital now) and then ride home.
yep home at 6 too. I'd be dead if I tried it today.
Funny thing was on Saturdays we did the same except it was FiveDock skatepark and train trips.
Oh take me back please..
JMCGT
nearly looks like asteroids Mick...LOL
that was cool too

GT Decals

Is the seller of these someone here?
ACGTO
Mike, not sure who it is but they're repro's so don't think I'd be paying that much.

Do you know when these repro's where done? Looks like the tag on the pads from Justin (Joker).

Hehe, oh yeah, I know they are repro's, and they look to be Bill C's ones. Thats why I asked, as I agree, the header tag looks like Justins header tag. I dont know what is up with that. Those repro's were done about two to three years ago from memory. I have two sets of them.

$150 is just plain highway robbery!
ACGTO
I didn't even pay that for these:

I paid less than you did for a set of the same decals about two years ago smile.gif (Less, because, I got them for free... LOL)

I ended up selling them, as I doubted I would ever get a genuine black chrome GT smile.gif

Ohhhhh maaaaaan . . . Galaga rules! Thanks for the link James. I won't sleep tonight for sure.

Andy, that is the nicest GHP I've ever seen. You've changed it a bit since I last saw it. Do you have a full frontal bike shot with the number plate please?

Yeah, that decal auction is just plain immoral.
AndyDiamond
Thanks Martin - I'll take some full pics but I am the process of making more changes so I'll post when those are done.

JMCGT - the Hutch pedals bodies are used (the old ones) so the pins have worn down a bit I guess.
diavolo
who remembers moon patrol?
closest thing to riding an old bumpy track, only you got a missile launcher strapped to your back!!
love the old game and watch handhelds - just dug out my old mario brothers [remember the one in the brick factory?] and rain shower.
http://www.evilbackwards.net/bmx/gamenwatch.jpg
can't find my oil panic but that was my favourite - clocked it only once but got 998 about 80 times!!! mario has had lots of love - i think this was one of the first 'mario' games - release 1983 [both]
ha - now a retro / vintage games thread!!!
