i think iwanthathutch ( John) got his pedals Andy..?
diavolo
christian: yes, they should have been free, hopefully i can get a little bit back for them from some mid-school fan, to put towards a nice starter. i might even see if someone wants to do a trade ion OZ for everything i've got so far. you know, that black painted frame you gave me is still the best one!! been playing with doing that up - i've found out it's a sept 1984 hotfoot - so thanks for that - some nice aussie history and a legit old school bike!! i'm gonna find some bits for the dodson frame, tried to set that up but it was missing some flange-y bits where the bars, head go into frame [HA - like my technical speak?]

kurt/brisben: top advice - i've always wanted and loved the 84-86 haro master / sport / freestyler - that's the bike mum wouldn't let me have and i think the bike i'll try to start with - awesome advice. i also always really wanted a 1978 mongoose, so i can lob it in the back of my 78HZ panel van on the way to ride days!! i always loved the freestyle bikes from around 84-86, so torkers, skyways, but mainly haros, coz they were soooo cool BITD... think they're what i'll look for to start. not sure if i've helped myself there or not - are they exxy builds nowadays or attainable for a pleb like me?

jake: i've also been finding out a bit more about the pattos - v.nice bike and great history. what year is the pr200 you have? i've also been checking out more torker 280's, yours was 86 right? you've made it a hard decision coz all that you have offered is awesome. spesh the 79 team goose... i just have to make up my mind eh?

i do have 'the bmx bug' though. if this was like the 'tattoo bug' i'd be covered in sh1te hack tatts by now. danny would laugh...!
JMCGT

hey Diavolo
got this 1979 malvern star , Maxi..for sale..frame only..??
Sumo178
Christian you're killing me with the ebay listings!

I need to sell some stuff to buy your stuff! I want that Haro plate and the infamous Blue Elina!!!!
diavolo
christian: send me your ebay seller ID!! i wanna see what your culling out of interest. i don't think i could afford anything you sell, those torkers are too good...
jake: can you email me pics of the team goose? may take you up on that one yet..
jmcgt: that's a nice looking frame. not too taken by it though, but i love the aussie bikes. leave it with me, it might take me a while to make up my mind. i'm a choosy beggar aren't i?! Yes, i'm a Libran too... so making up my mind is a *****...!

JMCGT
No worries mate..i,m a librian too...Sept 24

personally,i would look for your dream frame... wink.gif

Mick, 35? man that was 8 years ago. I owned my home and had a crap job. Much better now in the 40's. Just got back from the docs and I'm pretty healthy for my age. Just not fit enough! The years go by real quick though. Don't rush it.
Diavlo, I agree with what Matt said. Pick one frame you really want and go for it. Research it and make sure you know all the details of that frame. You will save yourself a lot of cash and grief that way. I wish I had done that.
Christian, nice stuff mate. I'm lookin.
diavolo
yep, that's the best advice i have had. find a bike i really want instead of just something old. i'm scoping out a haro freestyler at the mo, hopefully all goes my way for once and i can get on my way! in the meantime, i might have a crack at this hotfoot to curb the 'bug' whilst i look for the dream bike.

so if anyone can fling me across info or point me in the right direction of 84-86 haro freestylers, that'd be great!! ads and stuff so i can figure out and start chasing parts even before i get the actual frame forks, etc. pm me and i'll get you my email address.

i'm still gonna chase down an old goose too. can't get rid of that pang!!

christian: i've pm'd you about the hotfoot. also found your ebay stuff, DAMN!! if i could work out a deal with the devil, i'd grab that torker!!!

actually, if anyone wants to trade services for parts n bits, like the old barter system, i am a graphic and web designer and part time carpenter / handyman. just a thought. worth a try...
JMCGT
yes well Christian will be needing a building inspection report, before they hand over the $700,000 that he loaned from the bank... wink.gif

Yep. #017 pedals. 4140 spindles. I couldn't come at the price for the Ti spindles. They are very nice. Hard to tell the difference really, appart from the deliberate differences.

I spent a little time last night waxing this - then a bit more time putting new decals on it

I nearly got it as shiny as that car

now just to put all the bits back on it...
diavolo
you'd wanna be damn fine looking to drive that car, eh?

sweeet hutch daniel-san!!
Kurt.
Nice Hutch!

So the Pro Racer and the Pro Raider were the same framesets with different stickers?
AndyDiamond
No - Pro Raider was made in Taiwan and has differences in the finishing process - brake bridge 'HUTCH' logo is not as sharp, welds, etc.

Brisben - I think you are the first person to actually restore a Pro Raider....
Are those the new JDB decals?

Nice Hutch!

So the Pro Racer and the Pro Raider were the same framesets with different stickers?

It came up a treat!

Pro Raiders are actually quite different...shorter and different geometry. They were only offered as a complete bike and they were the first Hutches to be made in Taiwan.

Ah Andy...you beat me too it! laugh.gif
QuicksilverBMX
Yeah thats a nice job on the Hutch mate!

I put Pro Raiders in the same class as Diamond Back Vipers, looks similar to the high end model but slightly different sad.gif

(I have a DB Viper)
Brisben
Yep they are the new decals

From what I can gather the Pro Raider was manufactured in Taiwan to compete with the mid price range bikes, and they used Japanese Components, which you will soon see - as the bike was complete apart from the chainguard!!!

The welds are not too bad....

I'm quite impressed with the quality of chrome as well

broke L345
wow, that's nice.

look forward to seing it done.

is it true that the hutch windstyler was rebadged as malvern star maxi freestyler in australia?
Sumo178
guys sell a couple of things on ebay. If anyone here wants any thing let me know and we can work something out.
www.martin-bike.com
Does anybody have info/reference that explains the differences between 81/82ish Redline Proline IIs and Carreras?

In particular, when the extra small plate behind the seat post clamp area appeared and what kind of bike that makes it?

Thanks
Sumo178
I'm pretty sure the Carrera and Proline II is the same frame only the Proline II was a FF set where as the Carrera was a complete bike.

Not sure about the plate though. I think Waza has a catalogue?
Bradster
The raider looks good, still a full cro-mo frame/fork, Noice!!

Martin - the little plate behind the seat clamp came in 84 which is the frameset I sold you (it's on the way next week).
