Thanks Stu. I'm looking forward to seeing it completed too. Jeff Haney told me it is one of the nicest riding 24's he has owned. He said he misses it smile.gif

Mike knows his 24" Kuwis...

Thanks Andy. I've done some research, but I'm no expert. I just like old BMX bikes... LOL

Hey Mike,

What do you know about GT Juniors. I'd only heard of mini's and 20 (expert and pro).

I picked one up today that has a JR stamp in the rear dropout. It's an 83.
Pete Porker
Hi guys ! Has anyone heard from Scotty Meatpie lately ? His phone has been disconnected.....
serva
Only about 6 months ago Pete.....maybe try picklediddy ( Mick )
JMCGT
Hey Adam..
GT 83.. 26"...24" Pro.. standard...Junior and the 16"....^ sizes..
Bars were crusier, Pro , standard and Juniors
mcam
Adam,

The Junior is the same thing as a Mini. GT just called their mini's Juniors. The JR stamp is correct for the Junior. I have a 1981 Junior but it is only stamped with a serial number. What condition is it in?

The 1983 lineup was officially 24, 20 Pro, 20 Expert, 20 Junior. I was told that there was also, in limited numbers, an expert size 24. I've yet to see a photo of one, but I believe they did exist.

I'm not sure if the Pit was released in 83. Quite possibly, but I dont recall it in the 83 catalogues.

Do you have any photos of the 83 Junior?

Cheers,

Mike

I found a chrome Hotfoot in my shed today...um, oops....wrong site sarcastic.gif
ACGTO
Nice one Mick. Get on your Suparoo and pizz off hey!

Mike - The Junior I got is in amazing condition. I'll get some pics soon. The chrome is perfect. Stickers need replacing though but that's an easy one.

Only thing giving me the sh!ts is there's weld in the seat tube and I can't get the seat in far enough. Not sure what's going on. If they've repaired it then it's an amazing job and they've rechromed it at some stage. Hopefully it will file down ok. Doesn't need much at all, then I'll build it up.

Just need some junior bars now.
mcam
Adam, I have the GT junior bars too. I got them out of the UK. I believe mine are 83/84's as they are chrome plated aluminium. The earlier ones were 4130. They are both the same bend, just different materials.
JMCGT

heres my Junior.. serial # 9103 also an 81

mcam
That looks nice in white.

Mine is powdered light blue. I bought it here in NZ, and it was being sold as a Haro mini. It had Haro decals on it. I want to get mine chromed, as mini's from 81-83 were only available in chrome, other than 83, where they had the option of black chrome.

However, I dont know wether I will end up building mine. It is one of those "maybe" jobs smile.gif
JMCGT
yes i know..i am about to sell this..buyer is sorting through parts..
I just put my 82 Pro together..it has been rechromed...its looks like i just bought it from the shop..feel like i,m 14 again...LOL
ACGTO
If you decide not to build it mate I'm happy to look after those bars for you. Sure you'll need something I've got.
Volcano
LOL Adam...now sell me that Hutch Judge for $50.00!!!....hehe tongue.gif

Sweet ride Mcam! Should be a great cruiser to peddle.

Hey Matt...how often are u having to replace that bootlid?....cool frame too!
JMCGT

AndyDiamond
wooo - that GT looks hot in white.

Kurt.
Cool little GT Matt. And awesome Kuwi Mike.

I remember about 3 years ago on ebay a NOS Kuwahara 24 F&F went for a little over $200 au. It was here in Oz and was the Tange style frame with 4" headtube and had the yellow slightly later style decals.

Quite a treasure trove of exotica you have there Marty. PM sent re the stem. Sorry to be slow, had a little op yesterday and haven't been on the site.
Volcano
Hope you're feeling better after your op mate biggrin.gif
Kurt.
LOL - yeah bit sore yesterday. Bit better this morning. Got some stitches in my armpit so gotta be a bit careful. A nice shiny Cook Stem would ease the pain though...

I just got off the phone with waza, he said you'd been over watching his magic machine! I'm sending over a Suntour power stem and a pair of rims to "test it out" lol

On another note I swapped that 92 GT frame I picked up the other week for a Stamped pro neck and a set of win V-bars smile.gif It was a good trade because the guy had all the bits to build up that gt and underneath the black paint on the pro neck is blue ano which I hope is preserved nicely!

Awesome build Matt...you keep turning them out!!! White bars are a nice touch.

Hey Glenn...been looking at the radar (4pm today)...some heavy storms heading your way!
JMCGT

My first two bikes were a GT and a Patterson, both of them had white galindo,s..
So i love the white bars...bit of sentimental stuff..

Sweet bike Matty...it would seem you started your bike "on top of car" relationship early! Are they GT hubs on you Patterson back in the day?
84profile
...hey what is going on with the Galindo crossbar, have it been cut down...it looks to be running a little low...

I love those bars, I had a set till the plastic crosbar broke, and then I replaced them with the alumunium crossbar...I think the bend was more or less GT Pro dimensions..
JMCGT
Haha..good pickup Stu..
yes GT hubs BITD and the Gailndo,s..i got the bars Nos with no cross bar,so thats a redline two piece bar polished up..i was nearly going to fab up a piece of flatbar alloy, but it wouldn't alter the ride height so?
COASTY
Beautiful bike Matt. really nice job. I had a similar set up with my flights bitd. Nice bars too.
Mick, just got back from Sydney. Wifey said the storms came close but missed us.
Brought all my trophies home with me too. They have been collecting dust for 27 years!
