OMG!!! Another big storm hit us up here in Brissy!!!
We just had 75mm (3") of rain in a hour...all the creeks are overflowing. You should hear the noise from it!!!
I'm listening to the local ABC radio & some people are calling in saying they have had 300mm (12") of rain in 5 hours!!!
Lots of homes are flooded...power is out around Brisbane. Feel sorry for the already storm damaged suburbs.
Also...check out this incredible video of the storm (maybe cyclone!) on Sunday....WOW!!!

Yup last night was pretty intense on the Gold Coast too...massive storm, I woke up and looked out on the backyard and it was totally underwater (only a couple of inches and wasn't threatening the house)...but the best part is that we are packing up everything today for our move to our new place tomorrow, I thought oh this will be fun in the heavy rain...but then I woke to see not a cloud in the sky...better keep my fingers crossed!!!
Kurt.
Nov 19 2008, 05:55 PM
Good luck with the move Stu.
Remember, from a domestic peace perspective, it's wise to move all the furniture & stuff BEFORE you start setting up the bikes in the new showroom!

We haven't seen rain like that up here for 20 years! I hope it filled the dams some more...we need all the drinking water we can get.

Yeah - dated now - it's an '82. The style like yours and mine was introduced in '81. Because mine has a comparatively high serial (1890), it's most likely an '82. Claude dated it. He is also building an '82 Cook at the moment. What are the serials on yours?
Package arrived Friday mate - beautiful. Pads look really great on the GT. Just waiting on some TRX stickers and she's done and dusted. Rides great too. Thanks for the extras! How does the Epoch cap work - has me puzzled???
edit: Great vids guys!
JMCGT
Nov 22 2008, 02:33 AM
cook serials are 2338 and 422
i use a normal headset and the cap fit over the bearing screw and then fit the nut on top..you may need to take the centre washer out..but the cap should screw all the way over the cup..and hide the gap
they can take a few screw attempts as they are alloy and need wearing in..
I normally roll them on a fork before attaching to the bike..
Kurt.
Nov 22 2008, 02:45 AM
Wow Matt. Claude is building 2399 at the moment. Close to yours.
Your 2338 would be an '82 too.
Does your 422 have the brace behind the BB and the adjusters and double brake bridge? If so it'd be an '81.
Thanks for the tip on the Epoch - I'll give it a try.

Looks good Danny. I have the black/yellow pads on ebay at the moment, although I think blue would look better on that one. And yes I am after a set of the chrome/blue ones so if there is a group purchase just let me know.
Quick plus too. Selling the WeThePeople Unified 24" I showed photos of a week or so back. Offers over $700 otherwise it will head to ebay and then parted out if necessary.
Anyone watching CSI Miami at the moment? Looked like black tuff wheels on one of their pieces of equipment!
