Oct 6 2005, 10:26 PM
Wow! That came up real nice. love the blue and yellow. What sort of lever are you going to use for the brakes?
Oct 6 2005, 10:31 PM
that was just a Quick put together...
Im still playing with parts for it....
Oct 6 2005, 11:12 PM
I dunno myself - I think the full on yellow combo looks a bit K-Mart.
My two cents.
Plus the O-Wings are too 'new' for that.
GTs = A'MEs all the way.
Oct 7 2005, 03:16 AM

Oct 7 2005, 03:37 AM

Oct 7 2005, 04:12 AM
Nice bike V8ute. Gotta love a PK in silver!
Those rims look awsome Velocidad. The silver and red go real well together.
I may have scored another Vortex mini today. Found it in a customers garage. It has a painted frame and is almost identical to my sons chrome mini. It belonged to his son. Why do I always find minis?

I'm trying to find some pics of the 86 period to make sure my GT 24 has the correct look. can anyone help with this. hopefully it wasn't just silver and chrome or fluro
Oct 7 2005, 06:11 AM
that looks pretty sweet to me dude
Oct 7 2005, 06:22 AM
I think it looks alright but I need to know what cranks I could put on it, brakes, stem (fusion is on it) are the pads right, seat and pole right
Oct 7 2005, 09:59 AM
hey mattblack, that looks cool, not picking on it but the decals on the frame downtube need to say gt pro series in the old style letters like the gt on the forks, padset needs to be grey with white gt writing (old style), ditch the seat and find one with gt bmx on the nose and put a wing logo chainwheel on it, that seat is way to new, so is the padset (91-92) and also a gt wing logo seatclamp.
hope that helps put a bit more light on the situation
Oct 7 2005, 10:06 AM
you can put a gt mallet stem on it, correct model for that bike, leave the cranks unless you buy the older alloy power series 3 piece, just like the newer primo powerbite cranks, i had the correct padset up until a week ago, supermax got a 87 gt proseries 20 inch and i gave him the padset back
Oct 7 2005, 10:11 AM
try and find some gt ame grips, as for brakes, they came out with diacompe mx 901,s, i am getting a heap of gt seats, when they turn up, if they do, i will send you up one, it isnt quite 86, its about 89 but its closer than you have, i hope i am helpin out bud, not stickin my nose in. lol
Oct 7 2005, 10:14 AM
leave it with me bud, i will get you some pics of some 86 gt,s, then you can make your mind up
Oct 7 2005, 08:23 PM
YO MattyBlack!! leave the way it iz!! Just change that Donkey seat..hehehe..lol.. !! ;-))
ITZ ALL GOODIE.. IN MY HOODIE!!
Oct 7 2005, 09:53 PM
I bought it about 8 years ago and has been siting around. Just want to get it right.
The way it looks is the way I got it. v8ute The cranks you say are they the big alloy ones with GT on them and tiny bearings in the bottom braket ?
And any help is good help I dont know what stickers go where.
Thank for the tips

Good to have you on board nojo. I've got about a dozen or so bikes. I still ride freestyle and have been riding now for 25-26 years. I'm 38 and will keep riding till i can't ride no more. Do you rememder the Malvern star ad.....wanna be a star...na, na ,na....a bmx star...na ,na ,na....i used to get teased at school with that song because i was so into it and no one in my home town was. I loved it, still do , allways will. I am now apart of one of Australias biggest freestyle competitions(Heavy Metal Heros) I do alot of odd jobs for the 2 days we hold the comps on(3 times a year) My main job is first aid on the day. I thought it was funny that i went to a party on saturday night and most of todays top pro's were there. As i looked around the party i realised that i had at one time or another, patched up at least 2/3rds of all the guests!!!! Every time i was talking to someone ,their conversation would start off with how their injury was going. LOL. Awesome party!!! So fill us in on yourself nojo, bikes etc.ect....oh...and your newbie so it's your shout...rum and coke please.

not to mention the 32 cable ties underneath the 12 metres of bubblewrap and the triple thickness cardboard, man this dude packs his gear real good.lol, it took me about half an hour to unwrap it, i nearly got bored and threw it out.lol
Oct 10 2005, 05:48 AM

Hey V8 !
I've lost count on the amount of frames i've spent 1 hour unwrapping, clipping ties, undoing VERY sticky tape, unwinding bubblewrap that doesnt tear, and even worse is just trying to find a way "into" the box, cutting all the wrong tape before finding a panel to open hehehehehehehe
Oct 10 2005, 06:09 AM
