Been staring at the bike a bit tonight and it is a weird looking thing. Lucky it's shiney or I'd ditch it.
John, the chainring is a Petes Precision one. They come up a bit from a guy in new york I think. I may be changing mine over. If I do, I'll let you know and it's yours for the hutch.

That would be great. Many thanks if you do decide to change! It is a beautiful bike to look at as it stands though. Must have taken a hell of a lot of cutting and welding by the CW guys to come up with the prototype! Lot's of scrap tubing on the floor...

Thanks Marty.
Adam I think it looks good although I'd be swapping the number plate out. Not sure what plates look best on CW bars.
Glenn, I assume tuff wheels for the Quad so what else is planned for it?

James, yeah black Tuffs of course. I always thought they were odd back then. I bought the PK because I wasn't sure. This time the Quad got the nod. Just 1 piece cranks and some stuff I already have.
Matt, my wife is being generous with her grandads inheritance. I was going to sell some crap i have anyway.

Does not need to be NOS.
I have a set of 90s Cooks Quality Products 176mm crank arms for trade (in used condition, need clean and prob best for a rider).

On another note, Here's one for the car buffs.....
There you are, you've bought yourself a nice farm block with a huge barn on it, you check out the barn, but it's welded closed.....you're curiosity eats away at you until you finally crack open the barn and find .........
http://www.intuh.net/barnfinds/I wish there was a BMX barn ;-)
That Portugese Barnfind story is pretty famous amongst car collectors. It isn't axactly a "barnfind". Indeed, it is someones collection. The full story is in the link below:

Adrian, yeah I have, but I would suggest that you make sure that everything is really clear on what you are buying and shipping/packaging costs because the communication is not great with the lack of Engrish. The one thing I bought was hopelessly packaged and was almost falling out when it arrived. I don't think Bubble Wrap exists in Thailand..... "arhh yas, blow bubbles wen wapping...."
Good luck!

Aug 18 2008, 05:50 AM
Adrian, most are good although there's a couple that communication isn't too hot. Natty from Thailand is a member here and used to be sandy_bmx although not sure if he still is. Top guy to deal with. Can't remember the others off the top of my head as it's been a while since I visited ebay outside Australia.

I'm as sick as dog with the flu today, but that DB made me feel a little better..
Nice DB for sure....if it is a Turbo, it's a Turbo II (small gusset)
It appears the frame and forks have been refinished and most of the parts aren't stock Turbo, but in saying that he will get his money for it...it looks sweet...Is it located in Australia or O/S?
If ever a genuine Harry Leary Turbo comes up, I would swap just about anything I have for it. They are an all time classic in my opinion.
Can't wait to see more photo's...

looks like and Aussie bike with that Invada plate - weren't the DB Invada plates Aussie factory team only?

Aug 19 2008, 03:34 AM
Yep, thats a 1984 Turbo (or an 84 DB with turbo decals on it (without being able to see closer details of frame).
The 1982/83 turbo has the traditionally 'large' front gusset.

Id be weary of it as it might not be a HL turbo due to the paint and the fact it has very few original parts on it but hey i could be wrong. The most expensive and hard to get parts are not there. like these puppies

Hey Adrian, I've dealt with superfly bangkok on ebay B4, him as the buyer - smooth transaction but I'd be wary of sending $$$ like that to a foreign country, outside of ebay etc.
Is everyone enjoying the olympic BMX?!!!!!!!!!!! My good lady taped 8 hrs worth of footage today so as not to miss any action!! Just seen Kamakaze's first run - eewww, Graves kicked butt heh!!!
I'm pretty amped atm, bought a '08 Felt cruiser a couple of weeks back, reckon I'll be back there for a run soon!!

Yeah, i just been looking at OS-DB site and frankly you could quite easily make a very good HL replica and no one would know the diff. Hell I could do it with my Silver Streak frame.
Thanks for the heads up Bradster.
