The frame I'm after is a Suparoo (double butted - flared at the head post and seat tube same as
jahbless's dodgy Suparoo / GT pic) It was produced in the mid to late 80's and was badged a Competition Euro.
The decals were chrome backed and available in both red and blue.
Quit a few were sold via JT cycles in Adelaide at the time.

Was just going through my stickers to organise some things and came across these business cards. First one was my local shop. Probably spent more time there than at home when I was 13-15 years old. Good times... Second one was bought back by a friend when he went on a family holiday to the Gold Coast. I got a card and he got an MCS Hot Plate and a few other goodies for his Quicksilver. Final one was with something I purchased via mail order from 'the big smoke' on the mainland.

Speaking of which, that Mikes bike card is funny. Tobys biological dad is the nephew of Mike. Small world. Crazy thing is the black series one plate on my Supergoose I bought from Mikes bikes on a family holiday in 82 !!
Oh and it's still there and going strong.

Glenn, better they go on a bike rather than sit in my cupboard like they have for nearly three years. Thought I had a picture of David riding with his MCS plate but doesn't appear that I do.
Geard's is still operating with the same owner albeit in a different location. Think he is trying to sell though.

Hey Waka, so the Hutch is going to have a white and red theme? I reckon it's going to come up a treat! What have you got left to do???
LOL.... All of the red gear I am going to have stripped and anodised pink, and all of the silver gear I am going to have anodised blue.....
But seriously, yes it will be a white F/F, polished and chrome with the majority of parts with small parts of red, such as nipples, brakes and chainring. I am yet to get Kashimax Aero seat (one of yours), Hutch stem ( I might have to save for 12 months) and tyres and then I start assembling. I am customising some Suntour XC-II pedals at the moment and polishing the life out of them. This is going to take some time! I have done the cages, which were scratched at the ends and now look like mirrors, but the bodies are getting a goo go over. I am removing the cage supports at the sides, which I don;t understand why they are there anyway, grinding them into shape and then sanding, sanding, sanding, polishing, polishing, polishing.... Sounds dodgy, but it lets me get the body onto the polishing wheel and the should look good. I will post some pics when they are done.
Matt, $40US plus postage, but if there are enough people that want them, I recommend we do a bulk buy and share the postage. I wouldn't mind another one myself.

yours look like it reads expert on the frame too...put a layback on it and even you can ride this..LOL

No I don't have one of the first Haro frames. Do you have one for me? I shouldn't do this but I have 85 Master, 85 Sport, 85 FST, 86 Sport x 2.5, 87 Sport, 87 FST, 88 Sport, 88 Invert x .5 plus a couple of later ones.
Garage is betting better and sold the race cruiser last night. Yep, I have officially retired from racing with both bikes now sold, although I would probably do about the same on my freestyle bikes anyway. The equipment wasn't the problem...
broke L345
Aug 14 2008, 03:47 AM
why shouldn't you do it ?
I would have thought having all those, the first "freestyle" pretty much anyway, would be the holly grail. And if anyone should have one it should be you

JMC, don't give them away, you're messing with my resale value!!
Jarvi
Aug 14 2008, 04:09 AM
It's not good to list bikes because then you realise how many you have. Made the mistake of counting the completes in the garage last night too.
The original Haro Freestyler is on the list but not many come up and way too much money now. Got serious about it a couple of years ago and haven't been looking to much lately. I know where one is at the moment and if I can just hide it in the box with my other frames I have to pick up, I will be set. Of course the owner will realise straight away and pay me a visit.

For anyone interested in the NOS in bag Dia-Compe Tech-3 levers, here is the e-mail I just got back.
"I've probably got 15 or so in red and 4-5 in blue. The old guy I got these from charged me $10 more per blue one because he knows how blue stuff is always the highest in demand. I've already sold 8-10 blue ones for $50 each and have never ran a listing for them. Oh, I also have one in silver too I got a few days ago."
Let me know if anyone is keen on a bulk purchase. They are not cheap, but you won't get better.

Jim Melton still has his ebay store so I imagine he still has all the rights etc. The link to jmcbmx.net doesn't appear to be working. Patterson Racing as in the trademark with the slanted letters expired back in 1990. Of course I'm no lawyer/attorney/or whatever else you want to call them so take the above advice as unsubstantiated.
