...misc bike related stuff....

I managed to ride the Hutch to pick the kids up from school today, WITHOUT binning it!!

Kurt.
LOL Christian - you're the only one without a skirt on. What are you, some kind of freak or something?!?

Hey James - you must have 41 up now hey?

Reece - mate! - I'd love a couple of sets of C183s too if you manage to get on to some!!!
COASTY
Yeah those tires are sweet. I got mine from Earl before he went cash happy!
Christian you look very happy. I didn't celebrate mine at all. I'm counting backwards now!
Marty, you wouldn't believe the lack of safety rules at my work. We have acid flying all over the workshop. It's a terrible setup I can tell you.
ROBERTO
Anyone got a nice pic of a boat?

How about a yellow sailing boat with extra motors laugh.gif

I dont post in here much but I know most of you and enjoy seeing non bmx related pics because they are actually member related pics. I like reading about what people have been up to and their occasional side projects, boats, cars, holidays.... it's all good.

Ha ha your all so old! I'm not even 30 yet... suckers!

Holy fireworks! (I love the new GIF. Far better than the concrete wall thing! Ewwww) Anyway, you go away for a couple of days and the BLF have rolled in and taken over! Safety, safety, safety. Blah, blah, blah.... Man, my old neighborhood mates and I didn't build a big 455 BMX track with massive jumps, and a rickety quarter pipe to launch ourselves off it over concrete, all with safety goggles, six pairs of rubber gloves and a suit of stainless steel armour. Man it was dumb, but we were teenagers. How many teenagers do we have in here? Thanks for the very useful advice, BUT, we are all grown ups and let's just stick to BMX talk.

Stu, I am just praying that nobody hit's "Buy it now" on those bikes (sorry). I realise that this probably means more work for you, but I think we have several of us now lining up to:
1/ Move all of your furniture from your current house to the new one.
2/ Bring our polishers to polish your house (the new one I trust)
3/ Bring our spanner sets and allen keys to dismantle the builds
4/ Avoid talking about any polishing and being shot in the eye in the presence of your fiance!

I got my rims back ready for building.

A bit unexciting I know, but they should look nice with red alloy nipples, DT SS spokes and NOS polished Bullseye hubs, thanks in advance to Chris!

Cheers, and stay friendly guys.

Heh, I just opened my email and read it mate blush.gif .
I went into my bike shop to get them and lo and behold the supplier forgot to tell him they dont stock them anymore, I was gutted. Im looking at some blue primos now unless some NOS knobbys come up on evilbay one day.
Sorry Reece and to everyone else I gloated to.

But on a lighter note he did give me some unused redline 36 hole high flange hubs for free biggrin.gif

I did find this, but no postage offered to Australia, bummer.

Here you go Roberto:

HowardinOz
That's a serious drug running boat! (apparently that IS what it is).
Mark....I'm pretty sure I saw tyres like that hanging on the rack in a shop in Numurkah.
I head up there a couple of times a year...but not sure when I'll be back there.
Maybe someone here lives in Shep and can check it out for you.
Jarvi
Did you find them through Amazon Mark? I've seen them pop up in search results before, only to be disappointed.

Kurt, Yeah I specifically requested that they leave them there, and they did that. He recommended to use some Bright Shine on them to keep them bling. Apparently you can get it from Super Cheap. I would hate to have that job. Seriously boring. They wear the full length protective suits and face masks and goggles all day...... But I won't go into that conversation again!

Hey Roberto. No boat, but 70's/80's related. the band i play drums in supported DEVO on the weekend!

Hey John, were they plated or polished?? Can't remember what you were having done.
I may have to get some of that 'bright shine' also! (Super Cheap is down the road)

hey Pete
Eddy Current, it was awesome.

great gig Kicks, loved it. have yet to track down Primary Colors but its on the shopping list.

hope the tour is going well.

Thanks Kurt.... awesome boat pic there !! Made me laugh big time.

And Kicks, I love Devo. That must have been a thrill supporting them.

Hey John, those rims look trick, mine are supposed to be back from the chromer last week.... oh.... now it's this week.... but I suspect they won't be ready for another 2 weeks!! How much did that cost?

Can't wait to see your Hutch together, it is going to be Saddlemaker perfect!! The wheelset sounds awesome!

Oh and thanks for the moving and polishing options...um yeah I might pass...as I do have my own polishing facilities!

I've had a number of off ebay offers for the bikes and mainly from the UK, also had some funny requests as well..like "can you hold on to the bike whilst I make part payments'...oh what a great idea!! NOT...Have another buyer that has offered to buy both of them, also in the UK...imagine the shipping cost of that..ouch..

I suspect I will end up parting them out, you always seem to achieve a better result, it is just nice to keep them together..

Kurt, that boat would totally hammer!!! But I can only imagine the fuel consumption!!!!

Kurt.
Yeah Stu -apparently it was a cocaine runner boat between France and the UK. They needed a special helicopter to catch it!
Jarvi
And I think that boat would take less time to get from France to the UK than it has taken to type this sentence, unless it had to stop halfway to refuel.
Kurt.
Any of you fellas know anything about new school Free Agents?

Picked this up at the local Tip Shop tday. Tried but couldn't walk past it.

Serial is U01063217 - which if it uses the same format as the older FA frames means it's a 2006 model.

20" TT - unitary seat clamp - v-brake posts - FA stamped on inside and outside of drops. Serial is on the BB. Could make a decent rider I suppose...

Christian - your wife looks hot!

Got any bikini pics?

I just had them polished, but they scratch SO easily. The guy was really good at his job, but he left them out in the shop after finishing them and they got really dirty. I had to wash them and even though I was really careful they still developed fine scratch marks. That's why I am wanting to get them chrome plated I think..... From what I understand, they need to be polished before chroming anyway.

Hey Stu, I would really like to catch up with you guys for a drink some time soon. Celebrate your big news! Not sure if I am too late for Leigh before he flies out. There are just a few items which I am trying really hard to get to finish it off. Tires (these will really hurt when I remember paying so little for them BITD), a Hutch stem (one went for $360US yesterday on the bay, couldn't believe it) and a black NOS Kashimax Aero (you just can't find Black). So I will be REALLY interested in your listings when they go up.

Will you be holding off on the builds for a while after doing one of those funny freestyle bikes? (Sorry Roberto tongue.gif )

Hi there, my name is Danny Oakley, Original Mongoose Factory Team Rider for
BMX Products, Inc. You may be familiar with the code name waza007 aka
Waza aka Warren. This gentleman truly is agent 007! He did something that
few secret agents could do, he tracked down, and secured the elusive, top
secret "Prototype Supergoose Frame" which I designed in the late 1970s,
raced, and won numerous championships and titles with. After BMX Products,
Inc. was sold, many of my creations disappeared (even though they were
supposed to be returned to me).

Agent 007 aka waza007 recently returned my "Prototype Supergoose Frame"
to me. This means so much to me, that I feel the need to share this
with you about one of your own, an Aussie mate.

I recently did an interview, where I made a point about this very subject,
here is a link to the interview:

It's really great to see you got your frame back. I have several "geese" myself and It's great to see the special versions like yours.
Cheers mate

Jarvi
Danny, I was over at Waza's recently when he was telling me about getting the frame from you. I think he got just as much enjoyment out of getting it as you did for receiving it.

Hope you enjoy reconnecting with some of your old BMX pals as a lot of us have done here.
