BTW, any of you aussies have a moose f/f, I have (will have) a lil' holeshot as a trade and I also have a NOS Diamond Back Kashimax MX seat as a part of the deal. i'm also after a gold nitto mxII stem, i have one which is nice, but its faded.
I really wanna moose
(i know i posted this before, but i forgot about the lil holeshot)
If you have one and have thoughts of a trade, drop me a line. gettin one from the US seems to be a costly procedure

i hear that the first issue of pancake only just hit the newstand in NZ.

Mar 14 2005, 05:03 AM
Prosight - the 'Quadquickie' was a one off made by 'Bear' who is the rider in the pic and the Quicksilver designer/welder. Fatnold - the twin downtube 20" were again a couple of prototypes he made, Wayne McIntosh is riding one in BmxPancake, plus a couple of other pics of other riders, some at a skatepark. Bear doesn't know where any of these are, as well as the - all tube helium filled 24" that he made!!!
Andy - email me so i've got your address and i'll send a pic of the bars.

Pancake 13 is the last issue?
It has teh 1983 Trans Tasman race which was at my home track - Geyserland in Rotorua.
Very cool track.
I'm in one of the photos in that issue

Mar 15 2005, 03:27 AM
Hi Andy,
Yeh pancake took a 'rest' after that 13th issue,
(they mention it at bottom of page 2)
then things fell apart and they never returned.
I believe some resources of pancake and other people joined forces to bring out "Australasian BMX News" which had a longer life by far.
Which pic is u Andy? not the dude biting the ground?

Hi All,
wow!!!
I haven't loged back in since page 3 or 4.
15 pages...*****in'.
Thank's Mr.BMX for the chrome plating info. I've decided to let the 'whacky Torker' stay as is. It's not worth the cost of re-chroming. I used to get my car stuff done at Harkrome in Sunshine area. Seems they must make enough money from bumper bars now to not worry about the other stuff...dissappointing!
Thank's also for the black Tuff's.
As for polishing, I polish all my own stuff and it comes out great! I recently bought an all aluminium 'Giant Mosh CU92' from ebay for my daughter and polished all of the Al components including the frame....looks awesome!
Would be happy to polish parts for others if wanted.
On that note...does anyone have a pair of pink tyres they'd be willing to let go? It's for the Mosh for my daughter.
I hope to get to the event on the 20th if I'm not working. Don't have a bike to enter but would love to see some of the old bikes/reminisce a little.
I used to race mainly at Altona and Werribee. Went interstate a couple of times.
Altona is still in existence, in its originality(Queen St, Altona Meadows) but overgrown with weeds, Sad!
At 6ft and 110kg I thought I was too big for a bmx so I invested in a new MTB. A Kona Hoss Dee-Lux. MOst like a P.K. I could find, made for the 'heavier' rider. Hee Hee Hee!!!
I had my eyes on a P.K in Texas. Guy was going to ship the entire bike for USD$60.00. Said if it cost any more he'd wear it. Modem cacted it at 3am when the auction was finishing. Bike went for USD$330.00.....Bleeding big time!!!
Them's the breaks.

Meatpie, if you really get stuck my brother is a welder with a shed in Kalanger (Brisbane North) and is set up to do aluminium, he hasn't done any frame repairs that I know of but if you need him as a last resort e-mail me. I've seen his work he might be able to handle it he's pretty good and would be alot cheaper than $350.

Probably not he doesn't do the computer thing and lives on the other side of town, but I'll call him and try to explain it (he was bmxer BITD and will know what I'm talking about). Where in Brissie are you? cos' might be able to take it to his shed he's there most days.
