Oh I'd forgotten about the hot gossip dancers. Yum, yum, but probably not any more as they'd be getting a bit old.
Dave - glad to see you here then and I just proved I know very little about Kuwaharas.
Adrian - yes Launceston from 67-93. Lived in Norwood most of that time. Spent many a day at the Gorge and especially when at uni as we only had about 20 contact hours a week and at least for of them were at night so plenty of spare time during the day. Plus a few of the concerts up there as well.
Kurt, must have missed that track. Perhaps the hill was a bit big and we just continued on to Riverside. Come to think of it, there were hills in most directions I suppose. East Launceston, Prospect, Riverside. Perhaps that's why I spent a lot of time at Kings Meadows where Barry had the shop and the jumps near Risely Street that is now a bit of a park, houses and a retirement home. Good times.

Greetings BMXclusive Brethren !
Long time between posts for me, but not a hell of a lot going on....
Do any of you Aussie guys have a pair of these Tange 1200 forks in this blue, or a pair in original red ? NOS, or in good used condition that they want to part with ? I've got an NOS black pair for trade or a bunch of other stuff, or that cash stuff.

Just received this nice set of survivor Hutch Pro Bars and lay back seat post. They are in pretty good nick for their age and are almost show worthy. The seat post has the usual very slight bend at the seat post clamp point. It would seem a pity to tinker with them really to cover up the odd really small scratches. I am thinking on keeping them original, what do you guys think?

i try and leave most of my stuff in original condition unless it's absolutely rooted. it's amazing how well all that old chrome seems to survive and usually comes up nice with a good polish.
i bought a set of GT pro size replica bars from JC and the quality is awesome.

Close Allen - looks a bit like Pertwee. Geoffrey Bayldon.
For bonus points, what was the name of Catweazle's familiar (a toad)? (ps: It was also my nickname in Primary School, cos' it sounds a little bit like my surname...)

Matt - not yet mate - it was posted last Monday. Takes a long time to paddle the Australia Post canoe over Bass Strait from Melbourne to Tassie. And no doubt they send it 350 kms south to Hobart before sending it back north to the coast, so I'm expecting it about...Tuesday I reckon!

Best I've done at the local post office is a complete GT Ultrabox bike to Sydney for around $38. Although they might be getting tougher with me as the frame I sent to Brisbane this week was measured and cubed, where as all others have just been on weight. Still, frame and forks to Brisbane was only $21.05.
For $55 I'd be expecting it to be delivered in a limo and some-one then unwraps it for you while you sit back enjoying a beer and watching them.

I just paid $25 to send a frame from here in hervey bay to Sydney. Weighed stuff all too. She measured it up though. I think the fuel crisis has hit the BMX postage service finally. We got told at work the delays were due to the POPES visit!
JMCGT
Jul 26 2008, 05:18 AM
yes the measuring of packages has been happening for me for around six months...it has upped the postage alot....
better off wrapping in bubble wrap and not using a box, that way they cant cube it..just need alot of bubble..
Jarvi
Jul 26 2008, 03:48 PM
They can still apply the cubing rule to irregular shapes although they do always look smaller when just done in bubble wrap so it might help them slip through. Plus it's good when you are handled the parcel and no guessing as to what it is.
Would love to give a few opinions on the Pope's visit however religion is not something that should be discussed on internet forums. It's a hot topic like clips versus flats and I don't want to be responsible for getting this thread shut down as we have all being playing so well with each other lately.

Matt, they were on Ebay in the US. I have been emailing gary on a couple of things and he mentioned he would be doing some different bars soon. He has just bough a new pipe bender apparently. I am sure there is a more official name than "pipe bender" for it, but I only did 101 metal work at high school....
JMCGT
Jul 26 2008, 04:09 PM
In the PO rates book, it says they can cube anything at descretion, however my PO when i lived in Melbourne wouldn,t as it had no square ends..maybe they thought i looked poor..
so in a box $30, just wrapped..$11..makes it hard when ebayers want to know how much before end of auction

This is a bit like fishing for fresh water trout in the middle of the Pacific, but if anyone has a deep H Hutch stem that they want to part with, please let me know.... It's about the last Hutch item on my shopping list, and unlike Caustic Soda granules (which surprised the heck out of me), they don't seem to stock them an Woolies unfortunately....
JMCGT
Jul 26 2008, 04:36 PM
wrong woolies man...far out ..you have no luck..

Jarvi
Jul 26 2008, 04:46 PM
Yes hitting the pipe bending machine after a pipe bender could be a bit dangerous.
Spot on with the discretion bit Matt. If they had a look at the value of your goods inwards they would probably realise you aren't poor though.
Just wait until Stu moves house (not sure how long you will have to wait) and then grab one of his stems and say something along the lines of, "gee you must have misplaced it in the move". Come to think of it Stu, need any help moving?
Iwantotbuyahutch
Jul 26 2008, 04:59 PM

i had a proline frame posted to me from Melbourne a little while back. the fella wrapped it in bubble then just taped those black garbage bags over the top of that, it sounds dodgy but it actually worked quite well and got here with zero damage. it was pretty obvious what it was after being wrapped and the cost was only about 15 bucks. if it was put in a box it would have been at least $25.

hi guys, i usually bubble wrap a frame, then cut a cardboard box flat and wrap and fold it around frame, it protects it, keeps weight down and stops them cubing it.
