I know that bloke. He left melbourne and took my patterson and a few other bits and pieces. I'm flying up next week to sort him out and take my stuff back.

Thanks too Mick for posting the Malvern Star ad. I've been singing that to the boys for years when they won't go to sleep. They love it. Finally got to show them the ad tonight. They're all around the other computer now playing it over and over again and jumping around the room. It's awesome. Thanks heaps.

Grrr catchhin up with good bad & ugly computer stuff..... matching multi LCD monitor setups with the right graphics cards , RAM , & a root kit virus that started off as a "greybird" that I have only winged it or it's bought in a friend , part of it still seems hidden in Winnt\system32\Drivers\ ah27iy85.sys is it's current name.

Finding a child/idiot mistake or foolproof anti virus prog is impossible , firewall building , education on whats safe to let in & out can be easily learnt....

Any suggestions on how to wipe it out complete Ritchie ? or any other experienced or oldskool haxor that could write up a random peek & poke prog on the demo TRS-80 computer @ Tandy to lobotomise it. I was riding computers same as BMX bikes bitd...

On Friday I was offered a startup position selling complete new spec built Hot Rod PC's direct , no middleman , quotes no problem. This is what you want this is what you get , now. Don't want to risk buying a complete working box , try me out for a CPU , Motherboard , Power Supply , Graphics card , & Thermaltake tower , all factory sealed.

If you need to source a semi to commercial order of new in box , brand name , top end PC hardware etc parts NOW , not next week or put on order. I'll get it myself straight from the supplier/importer if the boss isn't holding it stock already & won't waste your time with excuses stories or sub standard equipment. Both the owner & I have no interest , want or need to deal or be associated with that end of the industry , part of my job will be to keep the wannabe's out & turning over quality product fast.
Unopened stock direct from the players themselves or off already very well stocked shelves , to you or your Boss.

The real benefit of this venture will be in me being able to scan better quality still photo's & transfer high quality VBMX video onto the internet etc etc.
Somewhere on our old VHS tapes collection we should have AJ doing his rockwalk ,I also found a Wheat Bix BMX commercial , that for some reason had a photo of me in the TV advertisement but unfeatured on the collectible cards set they were giving away to put onto a poster , anyone have a set ?????

If I can find the right factory built bullet proof box to further modify , blueprint , tweak & keep the air flowing thru properly so it's all fresh filtered & in harmony , that option will be available as well , no light stealth or LED disco bling cases if you must.

Back to BMX...& non commercial stuff..

I'll clarify & specify my thought on organised Competition Flatland BMX
"It's a dull spectator sport"

That White Hutch is going to be a most welcome breath of fresh air , whatever you put onto it , a balance of chrome & black , with brush finish , not polished alloy, parts would probably not be in the spirit of the day , but it would stand out head & shoulders when around the somewhat tiresome & predictable triple bling chrome maga dollar part Hutches that you see everywhere.

Maybe Matt will get some poke & take a step closer to tacking up our LWB 16 inch Hutch pitbike project , we used an XL Taiwanese Hutch frame because of it's fantastic errr price , $100 complete , the drawcard was a pair of blue 5 spoke "Aussie Tuffs" on it , that are near identical to Skyway Mags (except for the bolt in hubs) Xytel (?) polymer casting & were Skyway approved , unlike the Chinese tuffs that turned up for a while here & were made outta low quality "bucket plastic" , good wheels to grease up & use for a retro river jump bike.

Coasty , if your going to make some fibre glass repo repco seats , mix in some carbon
with the glass mesh for some extra strength , if our Monoshock springer gets rebuilt it will have a destructive/motocross/militia tank theme about it , proportionately as nasty & indestructible as it was when sold new to young teenagers in the 1970's , drilling in an assortment of short ice spikes , golf or steel baseball cleats thru the tires would not be out of the question mounted on some black or chrome 20 x 2.125 thick spoked coaster brake rims , something suitable will turn up one day...

Also if you father in law is a hull designer ask him about designing hull with wings that will go WIG & carry a reasonable payload.
Not to sure of what license you need to operate such a vessel , but he looks like he could design & build something very interesting.... No ones going to catch you in a race or whenever your using it , the ride is smooth when your 10 + feet over the waves & you don't get wake wash flood in over the back when you slow down to land like in a social or retired bridge to bridge ski boat.
Biggest bonus is that you don't have to worry about stability , continually adjusting the tilt & trim of the engines at high speed so that there is only 2 inches of the hull touching the water , with the screws spinning just below cavitation + a whole pile of air pressure building up under the hull just waiting to flip you over... probably need to pick up basic flight skills tho...Keep it in the water if you find someone brave enough to try some "social" water skiing , low fly fast into international waters , do charter runs for the tourists who want a seasick free run speed run out to the shelf for a spot of deep water fishing & whale watching along the way...

Back to that Rootkit problem......

The only white on the bike will be F&F. I am on a budget here, but I have got NOS silver 7X's and polished NOS Suzue hubs for the wheels. Not sure about black alloy nipples as yet. May stay with plain nipples. I have in mind a polished stem, chrome bars, black Ame Tri grips. Chrome layback seat post, black Kashi Aero seat and silver ano MX900 rear brakes. Cranks will be chrome Profile (I have ordered some of the 40th Anniversary ones) and I wan't to get hold of some of the Suntour XCII Bear Trap pedals which I will polish the cages on (no black).

Sounds plain, but it's similar colourings and parts to my original bike (shown in my profile) which is what I am trying to achieve. The F&F would have been chrome if it wasn't for the repair work.

HowardinOz
I'll keep you in mind Jet...I'm always buying new PC's for work. Just bought 3 the other day. We go through them fairly regularly. Mine's in a Thermaltake Soprano tower. User friendly and nice and quiet...as well as well ventilated.

Maybe, different hub or is this what you had BITD..high flange campo,s come up cheap on the bay, type it in under bikes, not bmx.. or grab Stu,s sonlites..thay would go alright.. smile.gif

LOL Roy. That's basically it, except I never liked Uni seats that much. Who's bike is this?

Are they black on clear decals on this one though? Maybe the black hubs would be a good way to go. I used to have black low flange Suzues on my old bike.

Thanks for the advice guys. Appreciate it!

It's good to see the guy who owns this Hutch has his priorities right. (bike sitting on the bonnet of car) smile.gif

Cheers.

Mine is white with chrome fork..

I don't understand women. The boys and I wanted to show the mrs the Malvern Star ad this morning after she'd been away for a few days. She couldn't give a stuff? What's wrong with her.

Anyone here got a wife that appreciates it?

Kurt.
Yeah mate - bizzare.

My wife reckons she has no memory of that ad.

What???

You mean she hasn't been singing it for nearly 30 years???

What???
JMCGT
trade her in Adam...get a hollywood..

i will lend you some CW uniforms..LOL
proline2
my "her indoors" reckons i'm a nut LOL. i show her each build i finish and i get the same response, "that's nice dear", the response for the blue team goose was a lot warmer. she loves blue.
COASTY
My wife understands but it means nothing to her. My wife was 5 years old when the ad was released so she doesn't remember it.
Adam, you should play it softly as she sleeps. It'll drive her nuts for weeks !! lol
Roy is that Hutch on your RX7 bonnet? LOL
JMCGT
Thats it Adam..your colours are all wrong..
Ask Waza, what his Mrs says....bet he has no probs

Sorry Roy, forgot about that one of yours.

Looks like a few more Mongooses coming out of the woodwork. Looking good.

In relation to better halves, best to quote Norm from Cheers. "Women, can't live with them, pass me the beer nuts."
COASTY
Thats a sweet lookin' goose kicks. Nice job.
proline2
very nice build there, Kicks.
AndyDiamond
liking the white Hutch - nice and clean job!
COASTY
Well I finally finished this thing today.
I am quite happy with the way it looks. It rides really smooth too. The pedals I finished off today and come up really nice for old pedals. I thought I was going to have a hard time finding 1/2 inch rubber block pedals but i found these on a shelf in the shed !! The only thing i'm going to do is swap the crank out for an older one. The BB is makin a few creaks too. Maybe it was just my knees!

QuicksilverBMX
Farout!

Its like being back in the 70's, great job Glenn!
OldSkoolRoy
Wow Glen...that looks awesome!! Great job on the pedals too. Oh yeah...that hutch is on the bonnet of th RX7!!! I'm running out of room in the shed! lol.

Kicks...i love your goose mate...very nice dude!
Jarvi
I like it Glenn. Pedals came up a treat as well.
JMCGT
Nice Glenn..that would look good with ape-hangers..are they original bars for that bike??..
Hey Andy D..100 pages back..is there any reading on the yellow cw, and what year /rider is this..
COASTY
No Matt, those bars came from another member from the museum, Wraith. I bought some cruiser bars from Reece the other day. I'll see what shape they are or they can go on the other "70's " gig.
JMCGT
Cool Glenn..yeh bigger sweep and you will be pullin wheelie,s for ever...
grips are a nice touch..pinch of colour..very cool
Kurt.
Very nice jobs Kicks and Glenn - cool rides.

Awesome resto job on the pedals - Glenn - you wouldn't believe they are the same ones.

I can get some rubber block pedals NOS if anyone is looking for them.
Volcano
Awesome bike Glenn! just so 70's...got me keen to build my Monoshock!

Does anyone know of or have a set of front suspension forks they would like to sell???

Kicks...Sweet looking Goose!

Ooh Kurt...I'd be interested mate! Can you PM me?
Mattblack
Cool one Glenn cool.gif
COASTY
Thanks guys.
Mick I have these fake shockie forks lyin around. They are a bit short for a monoshock though. Try the motor bike wreckers around town. The wreckers in Tiaro near me has a lot of old MX stuff. YZ 80 forks from the mid 70's are the same. Apparently they fit.

proline2
nice one Glenn. mate that sends me right back to pre quicksilver days.
Volcano
Cheers Glenn...I'll look into that mate.

Has anyone heard of a "Racergoose"?...hmm
