whats the damage JB $$
when you say 24" are not cruiser,s..do you mean "we race them"not cruze
JMCGT
i might have watched southpark once or twice...too busy on vintagebmx >LOL
Jet Black
JMCGT , bitd when cruiser racing was first introduced , everyone ran a 26 inch wheels
We all raced the big wheeled bikes hard , I'd race with a combo of fun , terror & aggression because at 13 years old racing on 26 in rims & 2.125 tires took you waaaay out of the familiar 20inch BMX "comfort zone" that you were used to.

I suppose you had to be there to appreciate how weird it felt to be racing on a bike that really didn't fit the track geometry.

Me saying that only 26 inch bikes are "Cruisers" is a fallback to what they started out from day one , before the smaller 24in bikes with a _much_ better "comfort factor" under race conditions began to dominate the class to the point where trying to race a 26inch bike was pointless & uncompetitive.
If you ever get the chance at the track , try stepping straight off a 20 inch BMX & onto a 26 inch Cruiser & doing a fast lap you should still notice the difference.

I could liken it to why we still call a skatepark a skatepark & not a "BMX park"
If you were there & active at the time , you still remember the 4 wheeled sport that provided you with a brave new concrete world to conquer & have a lot of fun in smile.gif

nice...anyone out there want to sell some clothing/uniform race gear
brent and brian ran the yellow patto pads

The Yellow Patterson pads, I was told, were team only issue. I've been in email contact with Brian Patterson, to get some info on the history of the company, particularly about the PR240's, as I have one, and want to know some details.
COASTY
wow Mum on the Bennet. Thats a cool pic. Your mum Rocks. Thanks for everything.
Heres one of me from that pile.

COASTY

JMCGT

sorry andy
Sumo178
JMCGT don't apologise for NZers being the rejects of Australia. Its just the way it is...
JMCGT
anybody know the best way to get a sealed bearing case out of a pedal..i was going to try a dremil..i have cut them out of hubs before..drilling is hard as it wont even scratch the suface..
i cut the last case out with a diamond wheel on a grinder, but they are a bit large in diameter..thats why i thought a dremil, never used one before.as a builder we use the big weapons..LOL
DRTYCNSMR
every way i think of involves a vice and a hammer... not sure they'll keep your pedals straight
JMCGT
the bearing case that is stuck in and destoyed is flush with the shaft..so there is no way of pulling it out or using a hammer..thinking maybe a diamond drill bit and work it sideway?..hutch green bearing..three came out good, but one was destoyed back in the day..i could use a cold chisel, but that is savage..
DRTYCNSMR
is there anyway you could manufacture a hook to slide in the case and latch onto the inner lip of the bearing case? and pull it out? use some cable attached to your hook and fix a heavy object to the end of the cable and drop it, while the pedal is in a fixed postion....

did that make sense?

What your lookin' for is a pilot bearing puller, but I doubt you'll get one small enough to do pedal bearing. Glenfords Tools sell them here in Qld. I've used them to remove hub bearings and cups, but you may be able to get one a little smaller, than the Hutch spindle diameter.

JMCGT
yes that does make sense dirty..
thanks gnarley,i will do some hunting..
mick,thats is 5 sleeps
Volcano
LOL Matt - gettin' all excited hey?
Kurt.
Wow. My eBay tally just suddenly jumped from 134 to 161.

Weird - I expect it's something to do with the changes to feedback - I knew I had a few instances where occasionally sellers hadn't bothered to leave any feedback - or multiple items from one seller and only one lot of feedback - maybe eBay has automatically finalised all those as positive now?

I expect you guys have had jumps in your tallies too???
JMCGT
yes i am mick..cant wait..should be a good day
got the bearing case out, bought a dremil and used a diamond tip drill
Kurt.
Can't beat the Dremel Matt - bloody brilliant for polishing stuff too...

It's all about the banner Mic! Print it and they will come.
Any chance you can design a banner and get the artwork to Hicks by Thursday?

Ross Lav and I are working on a prototype hotdog to serve the punters on the day.

I've also had alot of people say that they don't have any completed builds to bring, I think it would be great to see lots of framesets on display too. I'll have a couple unbuilt to show off, survivor and restored.
JMCGT
hey kurt,correct..got an extra 60 today..
brad...bmxproducts inc on the bay has the gt decals right now...he also has the mongoose ones

sorry about the high end prices on a few things but I'm trying to sell to some of the crazies out there - you know, if I'm gonna part with some of this stuff I want top dollar.
I want to be just like Prosight/Biagio - lol.

Seems that BINs can actually work better than doing a long run auction.

ACGTO
I got a heap of points today too. I've noticed a few things around the site like doubled up message. Maybe they got there last coders from the same agency I did because mine are pretty bad too.

Hmmm good going on the Race Inc Bars...I might have to chuck mine up after your auction is done...prices are going all over the shop at the moment...but then again it just takes two bidders I guess...
QuicksilverBMX
Yeah both the high bidders on the bars are from the UK, must be a race inc or 2 being built at the moment!
