Hey Jarvi, did you get her number?

No I didn't Adam. Aiming a bit younger, but not as young as the ones John is lining up for me...

Reece I bet your eyes nearly popped out when you saw the seat post clamp.
Volcano
Hey Jarvi - I bet if you had a Porsche or something like that, the chicks would be all over you...LOL tongue.gif

Thanks boys..it is really cool, as this mate is also trying to hunt down another Hutch to replicate his old one..even though we know exactly where is complete bike is..another mate of mine bought it from him in about 1990...ouch..

Unfortunately I sold my Cook Bros bitd, however, I finally tracked down the exact same model last year, most of the components are now the same...

Dang, Stu, the Cook Brothers is hot, but the PR240 is hotter. That sure is a nice looking cruiser smile.gif Ride ok?
Volcano
Sweet CBR Stu! Did CBR have padsets for there frames?
I noticed that Vintagemongoose.com have a link to Mongoose.com...congrats Waz n Rick! biggrin.gif

Yeah the Patterson rides a treat, just got to change the gearing, way, way too high! 42/16...I've got an 18 to go on when I get the rims spoked up with the GT Hubs I've got waiting...

Hey Volcano, yeah CBR certainly did padsets, but they are almost impossible to find and out of control expensive when they do come up...mine is going nude for awhile, might even end up with a stock set of black Flite Pads...
Volcano
Hey Stu - I found a pic today and answered my own question...LOL
If the bike is nude, does that mean you have to ride it nude??? laugh.gif

Hi Roy,
I'm down that way a lot these days, although i don't live too far anyway.
So, happy to pickup/post for you if no-one else can help you.

Good luck on the frame.
MNW
Hey fellas.

I need to make an off topic post in this thread, so please excuse me.

you aussies make some good beer but i have to say the wines I've been drinking lately from down under have been some of the best I've ever tasted.

They're mostly Shiraz and Cabernets and some blends but I've just been blown away by them. I try to stay away from the Greg norman and Yellowtail mass produced wines (although they're not bad either) and sticking with smaller vineyards.

I believe they're mostly in the south Eastern part of your fine country. does Langhorne Creek ring as bell?

anyway back to the bikes... That CBR is awesome. cool.gif

Hi all, how you all doing ? For anyone interested in watching, either to see my bikes, or to just watch me make a fool out of myself on national t.v. - I'll be on the ABC T.V. show 'Collectors', ABC1 8pm Fridays, on March 28, - I don't have absolute confirmation, but i've been told I'm 'tentitvely scheduled for episide #7'. This was filmed on Aug 25 last year ! Hopefully they'll show my crash where i put the host Andy Muirhead and myself in the dirt ! My leg still hasn't healed properly yet ! I'll post if there's any change in date.
Pete

Kurt.
Sweet rides Stu. BMX Porn!

Pete - I never miss Collectors so have been hanging out for your segment. Thanks for the heads up.

Hey MNW - Yep - very hard to find a bad Aussie wine nowadays. There's a huge variety of Australian wines and a vast range of unique wine regions. Most are in New South Wales (love a Hunter Valley Shiraz), Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania. Here where I am in Tasmania they specialise more in cool climate varieties - including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and even Riesling. Keep drinking - and yeah, avoid the mass market stuff - life's too short to drink ordinary wine! You should do some wine tours downunder - you'll pay half what you do on the East Coast of the USA!

Cheers Kurt
Volcano
Radical moves Pete! I still reckon you need to bring a Quickie on stage and do some tricks while singing...LOL laugh.gif
What vintage is the big black beast with 4 wheels?

Hey Kurt - You are much the wine buff...what happened to the good old Goon bag?...it was cheap and you got a pillow to boot! biggrin.gif

Hey Perth guys (and anyone else for that matter tongue.gif) there is a vintage car show on at Whiteman park on Sunday the 16th March. We are all meeting in front of the Motor musuem and setting up on the grass there. We will be there from 9am onwards and there will be a large Vintage BMX display as well as a few dragsters and alike. We are going to make this an annual event if we get the numbers and judging by the response so far this is going to be big!

If you need any info, just PM me.

Cheers

hey hey...thanks for the offer!!! Jarvi is gunna get it for me "IF" i win. But i really appretitiate the offer and if i can ever get anything for you up this way ,i'd do the same. Cheers!!!
COASTY
So I've been wanting to do a 70's roots style bmx with a dragster frame for yonks. I'm at the tip shop today and see a new retro "bratz" chinese made lowrider. It has a US BB and as far as I can tell is very close to a Schwinn. It looks real short so I told Tobes he can do it up and ride it. Cruiser of sorts. So he got stuck in. I helped with the paint and the tight bolts and he done the rest. He wanted to paint it in a "boys" color so mattblack it was!
I'm lookin' for an old Win stem and a banana seat/sissy bar and we're done.
It's gonna look pretty cool.

QuicksilverBMX
Lookin' good so far Glenn. If you are looking for a horseshoe win stem let me know what colour (or you could paint it) and "slant" (forward, back or straight), I have heaps of em'!!!!
COASTY
Thanks Reece. All my mates at school had this style. I had one of those stems your talking about.
Ginny has these for $10. Can't go wrong.
Volcano
Hey Glenn - Should look cool cruisin' the esplanade...
QuicksilverBMX
Ginnys is down at the moment due to a website upgrade but i also have one of those I think. If I can find it its yours. I'll let you know in the next day or 2
ACGTO
Here's my latest PK build. Will have some more pics soon to post in the main forum when the weather's a bit better.

Volcano
Once again Adam...Fantastic build!!! Love the baby blue A'me grips.
Is the Haro plate actually brown? huh.gif
Not in the "usual" spot for your bike photo shoots?...LOL
Top ride - love the PK's biggrin.gif
84profile
Smokin' hot as usual Adam...You keep buiding em', I keep wanting them!!

That thing looks exactly how I remember the rich kids having at the track bitd...sweeet (I reckon this one might make Glen sweat a little, because it reminds me of Coasty's old bike from the photo's)..What do you reckon Glen?

Two questions Adam.

1) Is that Black MX125 from our little buddy in the Netherlands?
2) Do you know how many set of Profile Cranks, Hutch Pedals and Bullseye hubs you have???? smile.gif

Can't wait to see more pic's...great job mate!!

Kurt.
Adam - awesome mega build!

Glenn - Man that brings back some memories mate - the old matt black converted dragster was the scoot of choice down here in 78/79. Built a few of them with mates myself. Jump em till they break and then change the frame! You need some of those wide black mx bars now. The high-end upgrade was a pair of chrome Tange forks! If you want some of those genuine OGK grips just give me a hoy - I can get 'em in orange and blue - but they should dye black easy. Those Bratz appear down here at the tip already too - only a couple of years old now. Wouldn't we have killed BITD for a dragster frame with US BB!!!

Funny with the personalised plates - just got myself a set of Targa Tasmania plates in the last couple of weeks for my Torana "TT-072".
prosight
hi all. any one out there that would live near or be able to pick up a bike from BURPENGARY NORTH BRISBANE its a whole bike but i just need a couple of parts and you can keep the rest and will work something out with you for your time. thanks all
Jarvi
Awesome stuff Adam. Might have to use it as motivation to finish cleaning up mine and getting the stickers on it.

Stu, I think he only has one set of Profile cranks/Hutch pedals and they just move from bike to bike... Perhaps it's time for a line up of the bikes Adam. That will bring tears to my eyes but will suffer for the cause.
ACGTO
Hey Jarvi. Next time you're around Richmond sing out. I've got most of my complete bikes in Melbourne now. I'll let you count them. I can only bring out one at a time though. Just give me five minutes between each one so I can swap over the cranks. Serious about dropping over at some stage. You can help me polish them, didn't realise how dusty they all are.
Jarvi
Sounds good. If enough money passes hands I might be able to convince everyone there is more than one set. Might give you a shout later in the week to have a look.
prosight
OH well you win some you lose some i just missed an auction that was on OZ ebay it was a GT with redline 401 i got the lady to send pic's of the cranks and was going to bid but had to help the son do homework and missed it by 1min oh well someone got a set of redline 401 cranks for $167.50

best of luck to them

Good to see the Bratz & PK project bikes underway, I was hoping to have at least of these finished by the weekend, maybe next weekend!!????????
wacko.gif

Check inside the b/b on pic 2, almost as new frame-set biggrin.gif

And no I don't have all the extras to make it a 'true' Pro-Star.... blush.gif
prosight
well i can tell you that the son's homework is more important but a set of 401's wold have been nice

no one picked up on it???????????? i see you did glen
COASTY
Yeah I was watchin that Chris. I shoulda coulda but didn't. sleep.gif I wasn't sure on the cranks. Should of looked better.
Adam, the PK is awsome. man I love a silver PK Loopy. Yeah it does look a lot like my old one. better cranks on yours though. Looks great.
The bratz needs a cool name. I hate those damn bratz dolls. My daughter has them everywhere! lol
Thanks Reece. Mark has a stem too. I figured there'd be a few around.
Jarvi
Brett, the guy who won it is a member here.

Bradster, if yo ever get sick on one of your XL24 then sing out.

Speaking of dragsters, if anyone comes across a Hallmark dragster I'd be interested. Short frame version. Would like to build my first bike which was converted to a BMX in about '79. Originally green then painted metallic blue and Redline stickers slapped on it.
prosight
the redline 401 deal was like the set i got off ebay for $30 and cost $39 posted no one picked up on it coz the pic was no good.
prosight
Jarvi i have a NOS dragster Short frame you can have its the same frame as a Hallmark just pick it up. or i can meet you if im over your way again...
Jarvi
That would be great Chris. Do you still head into the swap meet at St Kilda? I could come down this weekend if you are. I assume it's still the first Sunday of the month.
prosight
i have not been to the swap meet at St Kilda for a long time.

just PM me your number and ill call you tonight or tomorrow

Kurt,

Here's a short list of the ones I've tried recently and have been very impressed with:

Redbank Long Paddock - Shiraz / Cabernet 2003

Houghton - Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 (I think)

Marquis Phillips - 2005 Sarah's Blend

Step Road Black Wing - Shiraz 2005

As you can see I favor reds. White wines I like when the weather is warmer.

I'll keep my eyes open for some nice wines from Tasmania. Any vintners you suggest?
