I am indeed getting old school now...might need to drop myself into an Oxalic Acid bath, see if it can remove some grey hair and wrinkles! Or I might just stay as a survivor!
COASTY
LOL c'mon waza, live dangerously.
Hal, you still got that gun?
Oh the moment's over.
Back to the new, old thread I guess.

Hi guys,

New guy from Perth.

Have a old Hutch pre serial cruiser, and a late model GT cruiser. Hutch is a daily rider/wheely machine,
and the GT is something I would like to do some racing on.

Both bikes about 80 - 85 % where I want them parts wise.

2 is plenty for me tho - would not be able/allowed a 3rd (yes dear) smile.gif

Love the site so far.

Cheers

84profile
Welcome dude.

Nice bikes! Love the Hutch, it looks mint! Love to see some more photo's of it! Did you have it as a kid or did you build it recently?
COASTY

Welcome to site! biggrin.gif

Kurt.
Welcome Rob.

You will find if you keep bikes in parts, for some reasons the female mind finds them harder to count...

Cheers Kurt (from Tassie)
ROBERTO
How ya doin' Kurt?

I saw this thread lying unlocked a couple days ago and was wondering when someone might make a post.

Do you guys think we will use this thead again?

I dont want to have to check two Aussie threads to keep up with all the action. smile.gif
rob500
Cheers guys - I have just realised I posted in the wrong thread...I ment the other one.

When they are finished I'll get some nice piccys done. The pair of them are not ready for photos yet.

Hutch is only a new thing for me, havent had it 6 months yet. Pretty much built it up over ebay slowly peacemeal style to how I wanted it. Its cool though. Had 1 10 year old boy ask what it was, and why there is no colours???

If any more big parts of bikes turn up during the day in the post, I have pretty much had it. Im even cutting down on the small stuff biggrin.gif Might have to get a post office box, or get them sent to a mates place laugh.gif
Kurt.
Hey Roberto - I'm great mate. Really dirty I couldn't get to your Qld BBQ - looked like a brilliant day.
ROBERTO
I'm already thinking about another one next year in the heart of winter, maybe you could make that one.
Volcano
Hey Roberto
Did you get the info about the Vision Streetwear and Psychostick shirts that have been reissued by VSW themselves?
They look great!
So, will you build a halfpipe this time for the next BBQ gathering?
How about a "Big Air" comp or a portable BMX track with berms and water hazards like the Yamaha series BITD...LOL

Geez Mic, I don't think we need any fatalities at the next BBQ, I had enough trouble in the bunnyhop comp!

Yeah, first to die wins.

Thanks for the link Mic but I didn't find the Psyco stick shirt, only Vision logo shirts.

Why not post a pic here for me.

Thanks, Roberto.

For the people that are going to at Ashmore for the VBMX gathering/race, and as it seems there will be quite a few coming from interstate, I was thinking perhaps after the race/event it might be cool to wander over the road to the Ashmore tavern for a feed and a couple of quiet ales. Just an idea....

Anybody else out there from Sydney besides my OS pal Bruce???

Hey Martin,

I'm in Sydney. Wow, what a collection!

Paul
www.martin-bike.com
Hey Paul,

Wow, you dug that up from 2005! Good to see another Sydney-sider here although I live in Hong Kong at the moment!

I'll be back in December for holidays though and usually hook up with Bruce and sometimes others for rides and/or bike building.

Are you building anything right now?

Martin
ROBERTO
So it's official, we're all getting loaded at the Tavern and then crashing at Stu's !

You got air con right?
ACGTO
Can any one tell me what year Araya Aero rims came out?
84profile
Um yeah.... I've got air con Rob, but it is never that warm in my garage, just a little cramped! wink.gif

Adam, I would take a stab at Araya Aero's (aka 7w's) came out at in about 83'...however that is just a stab...Awesome rims in my opinion!
Kurt.
Hey fellas,

Anyone know about the Redline "Series Three"? I'm hoping to pick up a red Redline '81 MXII tomorrow, and there's also a chrome "Series Three" frame there with an "RA" serial number. The stickers are the multicoloured red/yellow/orange style, so I assume it's an '82.

I'll post pics tomorrow if I pick them both up.

hi Kurt, that sounds like a Japanese made mxII frame from 1981 ("RA"). the series 3 frame came out late 1982, which would make it a "RB" or "RC" for 1983. those multi coloured stickers were new for 1983.
check inside the BB all will be revealed when you see the down and seat tube holes.

Sorry guys, i cant make it now. Just spent all day in hospital with kidney stones. Man i just want to lay down and sleep. Will be thinkin of ya all!!!!!

thanks guys,

ahh welll im back to sorting and scanning bmx pics on my pc for a few days then.

heres one for ya all.

www.martin-bike.com
Nice one. Glad you showed this as I'm trying to figure out what these forks are:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...A:IT&ih=012

Not early 80s Tuff Forks I don't think. Anybody?
Kurt.
OK,
Here's today's Scout Yankee Auction pickups.

Dig the 26" cruiser - it's a Cyclops, but bears more than a passing resemblance to a mid 70's Goose! Check the BB gusset. This one will be a rider for my wife. Someone along the way put a set of red velcro Mongoose pads on her too.

The short dragster was too good to pass up.

The real find though was the Redline MX11. The chrome is in really good condition. The stickers are those 82/83 style, but the Serial number is an RA ('81). The stickers don't line up properly, so I suspect it was restickered some time.

What do you think Allen? - there is a drain hole in the BB for both the seat tube and the downtube. The chainstays are fitted really nicely into the BB too. Does the "Redline" in that cigar shape date it (on my other MX11 it is in an oval). '81 or '83?

QuicksilverBMX
Very Nice Score Kurt! Make sure you post pics of that 26er when its finished!
COASTY
Nice scores Kurt. That cruiser will come up nice.
I stopped by the tip today too. All I could find was this Raleigh Magnum 16"er and a set of replacement forks. $5 for them.
It's so cute.
