Kurt.
Hey Fellas,
Finally back home after a week in Vic. Big thankyou to Waza and James for making me welcome last weekend. Nice to meet Velocidad and Dugga too.

Those pedals look great Roy.
Kurt.
Oh yeah - and as for Waza's shed - I could genuinely quite happily retire there!
Jarvi
Good to meet another BMXer Kurt. Pity Sunday turned into more driving that watching the racing though. Just as I got back home to grab some t-shirts and head to the skatepark for some photos it started raining so that didn't happen either.
Kurt.
Yeah - it was just one of those days for weather! The mornings up at Ballarat were bracing too...
COASTY
I just got back from a hunting trip through the frazer coast area. A few bits were grabbed and we're going back for more in a few weeks.
Not a lot of quality stuff but more bits that'll come in handy. One guy grabbed a NOS pair of Redline forklifter bars from under my nose. There was nearly blood spilt I can tell you. All the fun of the chase more than anything.

yeah great coasty , I LOVE CHASING MY TAIL ! im settled with the fact that there is no "SCORES" in adelaide (ok i hear the adelaide jokes)

i go into a pokey old bike shop and ask the owner if he has any old bmx bits that he had from the 80's unsold . he looks at me strange and says "why would i keep them till now" , i feel like say "coz there work sh1t loads more now than BITD" or better still " NOW PRODUCE A BAG 'O' PRO NECKS RIGHT NOW OLD MAN OR IM GONNA START SHOOTING"

no luck for the ozzy

i know the feeling oz, i can see the look on their face now..
hey glenn, what do u hunt apart for bmx bits?
cheers brian
COASTY
Mostly VL commodore parts. Some bits are rarer than Aerospeeds! Usually they are cheaper though. Basically anything I think will be worth something in the future. Stickers are another favourite. One shop today had a few good stickers but I'm waiting for one owner to finish her stickerbook. She said she has a few sets of stickers from the 70's and 80's. If anyone needs high flange Suzue hubs, I have a few sets sitting here. Not NOS but close.
Oh and good to see you back around here Brian.

Here's my NOS Haro plate i've been waiting for. I even bought some Haro numbers to go on it. It came today!!! I was so sad when i opened this up. I didn't even get to put it on a bike. Poo to Australia post.

Jet Black
Whoever put a vinatge plastic no. plate into the post with only bubble wrap for protection is an utter moron , it should have been at least put into a _proper_ cardboard box to give it some mechanical protection in transit , as well as the bubble wrap to stop it from slamming around inside the box , ask for your money back from whoever sent it.

JB
HowardinOz
Gotta agree with JB...a Moron!
Who would even think of posting anything in only bubble wrap?
QuicksilverBMX
nasty roy, I would have put it in a box as well considering it has an uneven surface. How good are you with super glue?
Bradster
Hey Roy-yeah that packaging is ****-poor! I work for Aust post and can say that most guys/gals on the job do try to do the right thing but that item is insufficiently packaged, however items do get piled on top of each other etc. A word with the sender is in order!!!
Bradster
On another note-ebay never ceases to amaze me!! I bought two of these cheapo cruisers at K-Mart to have a go at racing again-they're actually not that bad, ally frame, 3 piece cranks (although mine are out for a regrease and loctite!) and, so far, the bike has taken my less than gracefull landings etc. Not bad value at $100 each on clearance! This one went for a *tad* more....

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...bayphotohosting
OldSkoolRoy
You're right guys!! The packaging was very poor. I've sent the seller a message,so i'll see how i go.
Hahaha Reece ya bugger!! I don't think supa-glue will fix this one.lol.
Wow Bradster, That guy got good money for that one.
COASTY
Nothin wrong with those bike Bradster. If your gonna ride it and race it I'd rather bust up a $100 bike than a $800 beast. They look like they could be modded to look pretty oldschool cool. I like the 1" threaded headset too.
HowardinOz
From memory that bike started at $100.
That's why I asked him if he'd ship it.
Bradster
Rip into K-mart Howard-there's probably one sitting in a store-room somewhere!!
Coasty-I'm actually surprised how much thrashin' it has taken!! Have had some terrible jump attempts on it, no major probs so far!! The brakes are great too!!!
OZZYBMX
bad job with the plate roy

What was the seller thinking ? or what was he on more like .

The Auspost workers were probably throwing it around the sorting warehouse as a frizbee at smoko !
GTHODAD
Howard
Try Kmart Footscray.
There was one there a few weeks ago-dont know if they're still $99. Bars are too tall-but they wheelie quite well (test road it in the sports isle)
www.martin-bike.com
Holy crap . . . I just experienced an earthquake in Tokyo.
HowardinOz
Lol! Good on ya GTHODAD....I'll check it out.
AndyDiamond
Damn - shame about that plate mate!

The plastic in those plates can get quite britle when as they get older.
Some retain their flexibilty - taht one did not.

The seller should have packaged in a cardboard box

Martin - that was a big-*** earthquake.
redlineoz
roy every 1 is right, its a shame, im no eistein, but u gotta pack things right, specially when u know they can break. martin, hope ur ok, seen it on the news, live footage, be a tad scarey. hell yeah.

I tell ya, its slim pickins' around here lately, the seat clamp finally came from the US after 7 weeks and the rim was from a local bike shop - 20x1 3/8, now i have a perfect pair!

COASTY
Reece, I have 2 of those rims here in gold that you could've had. They're like new.
Hope your ok Martin. Did the earth move for you?
Roy, That really sux mate. People are idiots sometimes.
OldSkoolRoy
The seller has written back to me and said he has another plate that he will send to me ,this time in a box and free postage. He added that he'll sell it to me for $40. What do you guys think. I recon i'll take the loss and move onto that old school pool skate and bikes bloke on ebay. He's got Haro circut boards. I might buy one of those insted of that dirty old flow panel. lol.
serva
man, he should send you a new one for free.....it was his actions that resulted in the plate breaking and becoming useless. Or at least swap the broken one for a new one.......simple
Jarvi
Roy, Skatepool has blue and green flo plates listed on ebay UK. They aren't listed in his store on his site though. Just thought I'd mention it in case you wanted a flo and could use either of those colours. And yes, the seller should replace it free.

Martin, with so many overhead roads in Tokyo, not a place to be during an earthquake.
OZZYBMX
Roy i absolutely agree with serva . he failed to send you the item properly boxed up . its his fault mate .
Kurt.
Hey Martin - must have been very spooky being near an earthquake of that magnitude. We had one here a few years ago - a picture banging on the wall woke us up - but absolutely nothing compared to the ones they get in Japan...

Also - taa daaah - I picked up my Moose F&F from the post office today. I'm absolutely stoked. Excuse the poor pic - really gotta get myself a better camera - but I'm pleased with the cool old sticker on the seat tube too - Saratoga Cycle Center, California. Have to protect that one when I polish her up.

Beautiful Moose Kurt. That looks like it's in great cond. Hows it gonna be built up?
Kurt.
Pretty much standard Glenn. Frame's in excellent condition - forks need a rechrome (the other fork leg is pretty badly rusted)

Gold Stem
SS Bars
Mongoose cranks
Mongoose saddle
Mongoose vinyl pads

I'm really torn on the wheels though. I've got blue tuffs, yellow tuffs and gold Araya 7Xs and can't finally decide which way to go. At the moment I'm leaning toward the Arayas. Tomorrow I'll probably want the blue tuffs. LOL!
Bradster
Congrats on the Moose making it home Kurt!! Like the floorboards and fire place, is that your house?? Looks cosy-pretty cold nights down your way at the moment I'm guessing??!!! Araya's would be my choice-look forward to seeing it built up-with better pics I hope!!
Kurt.
Yeah thanks Brad. Yeah - That's our place mate. I'm an old house nut. It's a circa 1900 Federation house. It's cool in Tassie at the moment - but still warmer than Ballarat last week. Apparently they had 2-3 inches of snow on the ground this morning!
OldSkoolRoy
Woohoo..another moose. Nice one Kurt. Congrats on the moose.
HowardinOz
Yep! Bloody cold here today too. Drove through a hail storm on the way home from work. Looked like something from an armegeddon movie set.
Nice Moose Kurt..go the blue Tuff's!
QuicksilverBMX
Nice moose Kurt! I know what you mean about the wheel dilema, since I've had my moose i've tried all these different wheel combo's:
Yellow Z's
Yellow Tuff 2's
Red Tuff 2's
Black tuff 2's
Blue tuff 2's
Red araya 7x's
silver araya 7c's 20x1 3/8

1 more facelift and my moose will be a Kos!
Kurt.
LOL Reece. That must be some sort of record! I've never had this sort of problem deciding on a wheel set before.

The color scheme will be gold and blue, so I can probably just change them around as the mood moves me!
AndyDiamond
Roy - be aware the Haro Circuit Boards are also prone to cracking - mainly in the wrapping arm grooves.
mcam
I have a black circuit board plate, and agree with Andy, they def. are prone to cracking, especially around the wrapping arm grooves.

Mine is up for grabs if interested, as I dont really have a need for it anymore.
Bradster
Reece- a Moose with a grown man on it and 20 x 1 3/8s fitted would sure have a tip toe/top heavy look about it!!
Bradster
Speaking of quirky things..............

Thanks Andy...after the "BloW" Panel episode, and the circut plate thing...and the flow panel i have here is cracked in the middle. Does anyone have a "CRISP" plate? The one i had was square with wrap over the top bar pad tabs. Really light/thin and flexable.
