JB i know what your saying we use to have a water jump off the wharf at Windsor Bridge, Unless the bike broke the water first it use to hurt big time. I allways remember back flipin (which back then was un-heard of) and landing mid flip on my head and sitting the rest of the session out due to brain slosh LOL.
AAAAhhhh to be young and fearless again!
and thin LOL

Martin - who did you buy the Hutch off so we can kick his ballz?

Now, here's a bad luck story - I missed out on an early Patterson PR200 with Bottema forks for $60 NZD.
I'm kicking myself
www.martin-bike.com
scratchdeejay

He's had a few negative feedbacks with a similar story. I'm still chasing it up with PayPal but don't like my chances as the frameset was being delivered to Damon's - not my address. Not sure how PayPal treats that situation.

How did you miss out on that?

6am here, going out for a ride.
COASTY
Bugger Andy, That would have been a fine ride that one.
Yeah river jumping was the thing to do. Nothin better back then on a hot day.
Roy that bowl at pizzey is still going hard. Theres a new school park next to it now too.

COASTY
Wow thats some old footage of Metro West. Theres some big Sydney names in that footage. Where was Leigh-anne casper? I don't wanna see her mum.
bullyhotrod86jh
Nice looking blackhawk, I wonder how long the piece of tube must've been to make the twin toptubes and looptail rearend.
www.martin-bike.com
Yep, big rides you'll be able to see before Christmas I hope. I'm working on a short (like really short) mountain bike movie.

didnt i say that about a month ago...on another forum?...LOL Glad u found it m8!
Bradster
Hey lads, went to a Thursday 'training night' last week and had a blast, many of you blokes racing in 30+ cruiser classes etc?? The track has changed quite a bit from what I remembered 20 odd years ago (man that makes me feel old!) those jumps are going to take some time to
conquer! Here's a pic of my mate have a go, check that last straight! Wifey says to buy a new cruiser one of those 'old things' has to go so I'm in 'Dilemma man' mode!

Jarvi
Bradster there's a few of us down here in Melbourne racing, although we're now all in the 40+ classes (20" and cruiser) I think. A few in Sydney as well. Sounds like you have got the bug so a new bike is probably in order. No need to get rid of one though, just hide it. I think Dugga is a master at doing that. Tracks are definitely not one or two jumps per straight any more. More skill less power these days which isn't good for some of us as I think going to the gym is easier than learning how to take some of the jumps and rhythm sections.
Bradster
Yeah Jarvi-what's with all the jumps the length of the straights now! Yeah been to a couple of practice days and pretty well hooked (again) been wanting to have another go for years-what made it happen finally was a new person at work mentioned they raced and it was on from there-I'm really enjoying it just gotta get some Kuhunas up first to get those jumps sorted!
Jarvi
Don't worry Brad, the brakes still get a good workout when I'm racing. Speed and endurance isn't the problem for me, hitting the jumps too fast is the problem. A quick tap on the brakes and all is good. Just takes more time on the bike and that's where I let myself down. So many bikes and too damn lazy to put one in the car and head to the track...
caferacer
Bradster, do'nt get to excited tracks are very different compared to 20 years ago and will bite you hard as soon as you tense up the littlest bit.
GO slow and take your time its not as easy as it looks.
Where is that track in the photo ? Its not hills track is it ?
Great to see your giving it ago, keep us updated on your progression.
PaulK
Wanneroo track, that rythm section is a heap of fun. Have you been down to a Friday night clubby; we were getting good sized cruiser gates there this time last year?
OZZYBMX
glenn , congrats to bunnings queensland on the diggers .... with delays like that you'd think you were living in adelaide (at least 1 year behind)
Jarvi
Yeah Brad I forgot to remind you about the 2 broken collarbones that were totally my fault as opposed to Dirtboy's who was a multiple bike accident. As caferacer says, go slow to begin with and better to be slow and straight rather than fast and all over the place.

I just wish I could control the adreneline(?) a bit better although the couple of accidents did help. Also, don't be afraid to put the pads on the elbows and knees/shins.
www.martin-bike.com
Whoooohoooo . . . just won a set of black NOS Oakley 1s for the blue 1980 JMC Standard Long build. That's the next bike off the block . . .
AndyDiamond
Wooooohoooo... just scored one (yes ONE) NOS black and white Oakley B1B... um......
It's an orphan - anybody got a mate for it?
lol
prosight
Hi all
Looking for a CW Z F/F have very good trades or cash
ACGTO
Prosight - are you getting back into the bikes again?
QuicksilverBMX
Wooo hooo just score a pair of NOS Comp II's (yep thats 2s!) in yellow!!
COASTY
Nice score Reece.
C'mon Chris, you know you want too.

My son, Toby, had to pic a book at school today for reading. He's 7 and this is the book he brought home! Thats my boy!
AndyDiamond
That's what I thought - Chris - I thought you were out?

Reece - how much did you pay?
Yellow Comp IIs seems to go for affordable $$$
QuicksilverBMX
$125 shipped, not outrageous, but no bargain.
Its the only pair of comp 2's I'll have and I have a special build to put them on.

Jarvi
Hey Waza, I haven't seen a new Mongoose build for a while. Is everything all right?

Just thinking about the scarcity of tyres these days makes me think whether all those skids I did were really worth it. Thinking about it a bit more, yes they were because doin' skids is fun.
QuicksilverBMX
there is a "tyre" and place for everything James
broke L345
hey guys I know it's newish school but I was given this bike because of the state it was in and good old oxalic came to the rescue, this is 24 hours of soaking.

BEFORE

broke L345

AFTER (NO KIDDING!!)

QuicksilverBMX
Nice One!!!!

It sure is amazing stuff isnt it!
www.martin-bike.com
Wow Christian. I gotta get me some of that stuff. Now get cracking on shining up that fireplace too . . .
www.martin-bike.com
Got all the parts sorted for the JMC. Last item to confirm is the date for the hubs on the 7B wheelset below.

Suzue high flange - am hoping the decal dates it to 1980 or earlier. Can anybody confirm this please?

ACGTO
Just wanted to post these to see what everyone thinks (need some better shots). Got the frame and forks off Roberto last week and had to build it straight away.

www.martin-bike.com
Nice!!! Looks aggressive
Bradster
Yeah guys, that track is Wanneroo raceway, they've been very welcoming to me down there, and I'm keen to have a go at a race meet soon, can't afford to have a big spill really, gotta go to work the next day-like most of us, so yeah will be taking things slow-will endeavour to get some better 'Action' (haha) pics this week!
Broke-what ratio roughly for the oxalic/water mix? I soaked a frame recently and whilst rust was removed, I was hoping for a little better result, I let it soak for about two days but think I diluted the mix a bit too much.
That GT looks a treat-the wheel set is awesome!!
ACGTO
Does anyone have a black haro flo panel numberplate they'd be prepared to let go of? Could swap for an ET numberplate or Cash. Also after a Haro Series 1 Plate in white or black for a redline build.
www.martin-bike.com
I'll remember those wishes and keep an eye out for you. It's going to be a tough search though.

I've only ever seen one all white Haro Series 1 plate NOS on eBay and I got it about 2 years ago. I've never seen a black one (all black) on eBay. I have seen two Series 1 plates with black faces and white sides . . . I got one of them.

A very old shot of some of my plates. Lot's more since this shot taken . . .

My original race plate from 82/83 . . .

AndyDiamond
ACGTO - that GT looks awesome - Race ready!

The only thing I do not like is those goddamn awful A'ME 'America' grips.
Truly garish and not old school.
Prosight was ruining his builds with those grips - please change yours!
lol
AndyDiamond
Martin - I have a few Hot Inc numbers if you ever need some.
www.martin-bike.com
Cool Andy, thanks. Will PM you tonight.
ACGTO
Thanks Andy. I've got some Oakley B-1B's coming in blue/yellow. Hopefully they finish it off ok.

Nice plate collection too Martin!
AndyDiamond
Lol - no worries - I'm ribbing you mate.

The Oakleys will look sweet.

Are the blue centers in your hubs anno or painted?
OldSkoolRoy
Beautifull GT ACGTO...really nice part's choice and colour. Roberto does an amazing job.
