You're absolutely right, they dont crack, they 'pop apart'
My FAVOURITE HUTCH pic of all time.....

I posted this in the OLD Aus-thread, but here it is for the new faces ;-)

Hey Kurt-yeah mate I want a Hutch XL24 badly! I'll keep looking, one will pop up one day(??)I hope...
The Moose's are a sweet rider, obviously they feel rather short in length & tall in height to ride, but yeah a few rides uder your belt and you'll be hooked!! Will this be your first one ?
While I'm here-anyone have a pair of goose forks they care to part with?, I'm looking for a set to Moosiefy! Not concerned with the steerer tube as I think I have a correct length one sussed, so a fork with damaged headset threads is ok.
Cheers
Andy-sweeeeeeeet Hutch, got a pic of your 24 handy??
Wow-that Hutch looks to have snapped the tubing clean off, not at the welds!
Kurt.

Had a crack in my brake bridge - but not anymore.
Hutches can be fragile. More like a F1 car, than a tractor!
Kurt.
May 24 2007, 03:48 AM
I've got a set of chrome plated Motomag style pinched end forks Brad - or are you looking for the Team style forks to Moosify? Never ridden a Moose before mate - but looking forward to it. Going (mainly) the whole Goose suite - gold stem, S/S bars etc on this.

Does anyone know which bike/company had "Suntour Superbe Pro" (large flange) Hubs on their bikes?
I have a NOS set, dunno what to put them on yet....

You can't go wrong putting them on a Redline if you're building one.

Looks great Martin. The Red looks nice with the chrome. My brother raced a Pro Line after he broke his Black Shadow. I could never get used to the Pro Line, it had too laid back geometry for me.
But they are fantastic bikes for big (Stu size) riders.

So am I. I've contacted the guy several times but he keeps saying he'll get around to making some more. I need a few sets myself. As soon as he comes through, I'll post on here and let you know.

MrBMX as far as i can recall the supurbe pro was only ever standard on a road bike and usually a fairly high end one as the supurbe pro was suntour's top of the line. I could be wrong, just sharing what i can remember.

nice bikes Martin and Kurt. wow that cruiser has come a long way from that beater frame on ebay - great job.

I hope that guy Stu with the cracked Hutch survived the breakage moment OK - looks pretty gnarly!
Martin - the Proline is looking awesome.
I love those SunTour pedals but you gotta run KKTs I think this on a Stu Proline
Or is this your Grubby bike?
like these....

Here is a pic of another Stu Replica - I think this is Tony's (Motomag) build:

Here's the Hutch Xl24 in it's first incarnation.
I had gold and silver parts laying around at the time so I built it with those.
You don't see many Hutch builds with gold stuff but it looked quite good.
My wheels were pretty tweaked though.
I've just picked up a set of silver 7Xs laced to Campy hubs which I'm going to put on as well as a black Kashimax MX and silver Tech III lever. All the gold stuff will be swapped out for silver.
PS: I have a set of SunTour Superbe LF hubs laced to Pro Class rims:

man I love ProLines. What an awsome bike they are. A friend of mine had one bitd done up for freestyle as he was a big lad. Perfect sized frames for an old bloke.
Nice bikes everyone. They all look great.
Now today is a holiday here in Qland so I'm going for a ride and play bikes for while.
Enjoy

May 24 2007, 09:01 PM
ok guys , i got the rims for my repco MX back from the powdercoaters , its going to take a few days to lace them with the old original fat spokes , so i decided to try out the suspension ... i threw a set of wheels on the bike and had a go ....the handlebars moved so i grabbed a 12 inch shifter and started to tighten the clamps ...BANG the clamp cracked across the top .

Glenn i know you had a problem with these , did you ever get any or did you get them made up ??
AndyDiamond
May 24 2007, 09:47 PM
Very nice Martin.
I'm surprised you don't have a Redline logo Elina seat in your stash though.

Kurt.
May 24 2007, 10:13 PM
Don't you hate that Billy - I never use shifters on my bikes. The beauty of fixed spanners is that with their reducing length according to nut size, it's hard to overtighten nuts.
OZZYBMX
May 24 2007, 11:11 PM
yeah kurt , i was sitting on the bike and the shifter was the closest tool for the job without getting off the bike ...lazyness basically . now i have a 4 hour job with a lathe and a mill to make 2 new clamps
Kurt.

Thats beautiful Kurt. I love that Hutch.
OZZY, I have the clamps, but they are two top halves. The bars I'm using are normal bars and repco used larger diameter bars so I have another problem now. I might just get something made up.
I should just buy another complete bike because the seat on mine needs some serious work too.

I wish Andy. I have ever only seen one black Redline logo Elina seat on eBay. Jeff Haney won that auction - about 2.5 years ago.

LOST & FOUND
Found this trip after having gone missing for over 3 years: original Profile Champ Pro decals.
Still missing:
- gold Dia Compe hinged seat post clamp
- Hutch Mag-Ti hub axles!!!
Any of you guys had things "dissappear"???
Kurt.

Thanks Glenn - You saw it in the flesh at Trevor's place too didn't you?

Wow-some great bike pics being posted fellas-great to see, Martin-you sure build some clean rides! (*Borat*-Very Nice!*)
Kurt-I remember that Hutch on da bay-great resto, was that the one with the bent forks?? What was you repair soloution??
Quite like the 'tuffs' on that repco......!!
Kurt.
May 25 2007, 03:19 AM
Glenn, Brad - yeah - still have the forks here. Haven't touched them. I was looking to buy another set, but after seeing the price the last set of XL24 forks went for on the Bay, I think a repair is much more sensible!
What I'm looking for is a master welder with a BMX passion to have a go at them! At the moment I have a temporary set of Tange forks on her.
QuicksilverBMX
May 25 2007, 03:21 AM
Yeah Martin, somewhere in my shed is a set of Quicksilver decals, the first set I bought that I stored in a "safe" place, I still cant find em'
I'd better buy another Quicksilver frame incase the decals show up
