Stu, looking at your GT, makes me think that the blue rims would be much better than the gold, as I have gold brakes on the PR240.
Where did you get the gold spoke nipples from?

While we're on the topic of colored tires. NOS fat/skinny CompIIs that will be going on a goose . . . not venturing beyond this and the blue Snakebellies.

Most of the recent haul are things to finish off builds. Finally got some mint 7Bs for the original blue 1980 JMC Standard Long . . .

Martin, the end caps on your Grab On MX3's are the wrong way round. The "lip" should be to the top (so the MX3 on the cap reads the right way up )
Stu, I might take you up on that offer

I was lucky enough to get a nice set of 24" silver 7Xs laced to Campy hubs from Mr. J Chopper for a very reasonable price lately.

Yes, a replica... Interesting. I'm sure that will stir up a hornets nest.
The black 26 is REAL nice
And I think I might take you up on the rim offer too

I appreciate that Stu. So, you can get the long gold spoke nipples through your local shop?
84profile
May 22 2007, 06:36 PM
I'm in at the shop that is doing my wheels in the next few days, I will check the length, they would be the same length as the ones on my rims (p126) I think they are mediums and are 12mm, not the ultra long 16mm that vert-ego (in black only) sells. They look pretty sweet though..

Wholey sh*tballs, check out what this clown wants to ship a frame to Australia...I have had a frame and forks sent usps global express $81.00USD. This sort of price jack for postage drives me up the wall!!

Strewth! thats an awful lot for that!
Thats the one thing i do hate, people hitting for near twice the shipping.
Not so bad if they state theres a packaging and handling fee or something but when they just go bang and hit ya it suks.
Mr.BMX
May 22 2007, 10:49 PM
You need to realise that the seller absolutely HATES Aussies, and that the ridiculous shipping is there simply as an added shytestir towards us.....
He knows no-one here will buy it at that rate.....

May 22 2007, 10:57 PM

That's easy - everyone should just report him to eBay for unethical behaviour regarding shipping and handling prices. I understand that eBay takes a dim view of people like him....

To be honest i think i only ever saw one hutch in person and that was at Manly beach at a freestyle comp my mate was in many years ago, had a little dark haired guy on it....that guy did some awesome stuff on it, cherrypickers the works, very nice trickstar it was.
Other than that one time, Hutches never came near me and i heard they broke alot so never got one and as such i don't see them in a very high regard other than maybe the trickstars they where a very nice bit of gear....altho the monetary value of the things is thru the roof LOL

I'm a big fan of Hutch, having raced on BITD, can't remember any breakage problems, then again me and most of the other kids would have lucky to crack 60kg!! Super nice welds. nice touches like the stamped brake bridge and some of the best looking forks from the 80's make it a winner to me! Oh for an XL24!!!
Check this out guys.....
http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-BMX-MONGOOSE-MOOS...1QQcmdZViewItemOnly 500 (or so?) made???
Mr.BMX
May 23 2007, 03:24 AM
Yep, that's right, only 500 were made.......per day ;-)
Kurt.
May 23 2007, 08:53 AM
I have no idea how many Mooses they made, but nowhere near as many as the Motomag frames, which were coming out at 10,000 a month or so at their peak!
I'm interested in the Mooses though - from what I can tell they were only ever available in '80 or 81 - and were never a volume seller. Prodiuction stopped pretty suddenly, so the sales couldn't have been high. I have one on the way from Moosegoose Nick at the moment.
Hey Brad - you have to get yourself an XL24! Light, responsive, sharp, though you are never unaware they are a cruiser. 4 more inches makes a big difference (as the actress said to the Bishop!)
AndyDiamond
May 23 2007, 04:05 PM
I have a couple of Hutch bikes - a XL24 and Pro Racer - both riders.
The dropouts on both sets forks have been cracked and rewelded and the seatpost on the Pro Racer is cracked.
So, yeah I guess they are junk - lol.
So much for the Hutch 'lifetime guarantee against breakage'.
lol
AjayVBMX
May 23 2007, 04:37 PM
I would imagine that a Moosegoose frame is about as much use as tits on a bull without the forks...
RL20II_too
May 23 2007, 05:03 PM
yep, a very cool bike the mooses; but i'd hate to try and find some forks for it, that would be a big challenge.
