Dec 21 2006, 11:23 PM
Thanks Prosight. Figured they were hard to find because I hadn't seen one before.
Forgot, the stem and seat post clamp also have to match.
Dec 22 2006, 12:56 AM
anyone got a set of vbars for 80-82 bike (20"). in excellent condition would be nice, otherwise some that need rechroming are fine but no dents or scrapes please. martin as usual I feel slightly sick with envy when you post your bikes.
I LOVE PICS OF PART BUILDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! kinda makes me feel like I'm going through the build myself. there are bikes that take a very long time to find all the correct parts but your just busting to share with your mates,SHARE AWAY i say. speaking of hard to find bits I am also still looking for a mint cook bros layback post.here is the bike I'm trying to finnish , it's been about a year damn those hard to find bits........
Dec 22 2006, 12:59 AM
Broke, that Cook Brothers post is going to send you broke! Good luck.
Thanks for sharing . . . looking good. Love the number plate.
Dec 22 2006, 01:05 AM
yeah stupid thing was that there was one on ebay but he refused to post to aust he ended up getting$39.00 usd for it, I guarentee I would have payed at least 40.00 for it. What can I say?
hey I'm also enjoying the tuffs on my cuiser, just getting back on the bike again
Dec 22 2006, 01:07 AM
Lots of very cool builds going on.
For my money part builds, full builds, before and afters, sweet builds, rider builds, junker builds - whatever - it's all good!
Relax Kosy - it's Christmas dude!!!
Dec 22 2006, 02:18 AM
Heres what i've been working on recently.
Dec 22 2006, 02:35 AM
Who knows a good chromer in Melbourne?
(no not the kids down near the train tracks!!!)
I have a set of LG's and some 1 piece cranks to get done.
Maybe we could do a group thing? May work out cheaper all round???
P.S. Didn't Reece pick up a couple of NOS CB stems recently? Maybe you could ask him Broke?!
Dec 22 2006, 02:35 AM
The room or the bikes or both Waza?
Bike stand . . . nice .
Very clean goose.
Dec 22 2006, 02:57 AM
Harkrome in maidstone (accross the road from the indoor gokarts)
you mean these ones?
Dec 22 2006, 03:12 AM
Ha! Ha! Yeah, I guess they're the ones!
Man, they look heavy as hell!!!
Is that the final finish or are they being prepared for plating?
I know Harkrome, I used to take all of my car stuff there. Last time I took a frame there they said it was going to cost around $250.00 and it wasn't really worth it. Maybe cause there were lots of difficult angles?
I'll get some stuff together and run out there.
See what they say to forks and cranks.
Dec 22 2006, 03:15 AM
Anybody know a good chromer in Sydney? Or somebody I can send out a frame set/bars to and they will send back?
Dec 22 2006, 03:26 AM
WOW Waza.. nice clean workshop.. are you sure you have enough Goose's? hehehe.....
AND while we are on the half build (tease) bikes I might as well post mine hey? hehehe..
Merry Christmas to all the half build builders hehehe..
Dec 22 2006, 03:29 AM
yeah waza you make me sick too ,I keep having nightmares that I own you ET, let alone a flock of mongeese.
Howard I will be rechorming some suff soon Vdad Mark (eroginous) is that his new name? only kidding Mark!! He knows someone too.
hey martin I know you have a numberplate thing, that plate only comes out of the packaging for occasional hugs. But it will go on the bike when it's done. The Torker is a recreation of my bike as a youngster proneck pad and all.
Dec 22 2006, 03:38 AM
Luis, did you get my email(s)? Please reply
And Martin, you didn't email me your mailing address, and I need it to send the decals to you when they arrive
Dec 22 2006, 03:39 AM
"Tease" bikes Kosy? This implies something completely alien and negative to me. I think this is why we don't see eye to eye on this issue.
I don't build bikes to "tease" people. I build them for a variety of reasons none of which are for "teasing" or to make somebody feel negative about them. On the contrary, I am trying to invoke the same positive feelings I enjoy from them.
I share my "half-builds" with the intention of stirring the same passions I enjoy - hopefully with like minded people.
I see mine and others' "half-builds" as a glass half full . . . not half empty. The journey is as important as the destination . . .
Dec 22 2006, 03:43 AM
Ahhhh, another plate hugger. LOL Now that is a noble build - recreating your childhood bike.
Mike!!! Sending address now.
Dec 22 2006, 03:49 AM
DUDE.. you've been talk CR_AP all day.. re-posting old pix.. show us how much work you really have done today ... hahahaha..
Dec 22 2006, 03:54 AM
Dec 22 2006, 03:55 AM
You know what Martin I reccon the journey is more important than the destination.
Kosy take it easy dude don't insult some one then wink at them like you don't mean it. you guys have a dissagreement thats OK have some respect man.
Dec 22 2006, 03:56 AM
I think you are the one talking cra_p Luis. You have the logic and the intellect of a 5 year old.
Dec 22 2006, 03:58 AM
You gotta love half builders.. Howie: YOur now finally in the half builders club.. welcome aboard homie!!
Dec 22 2006, 04:00 AM
No skin off my suede Kashimax if Luis cannot introduce a stupid idea and then not follow through with an argument based on reason.
I don't need any respect from somebody I don't respect.
Dec 22 2006, 04:09 AM
Yaaay! I'm finally part of a club!!!
Thanks Luis. I was feeling kinda left out.
I just received a rear brakeset for the XL today!
Obviously going to be all polished and Blue accents.
Those forks are just polished CrMo (need chroming).
Waiting for the SE stickers for the quad and the PK's. Also need LG lites!
Hey Martin, I've been watching your site for a bit..when you gonna get the pic's page populated.
Waiting to see them bikes!
All those names and NO pic's...half or full?
now THAT is teasing!
Dec 22 2006, 04:11 AM
Just keep building your half-builds.. once your finished come back and show us the real deals.. You did the same thing last year teased us.. "WE" aren't falling into that again.. and most of us would agree
And do you really build your own bikes?.. ... makes us all wonder? hehehe
Are you sure your not in sales? hahaha
AS for the new comers you might wanna go back back around the same time last year too see what I mean..
Dec 22 2006, 04:11 AM
I'm a perfectionist - quality takes time.
I've given up on professional photographers and am looking at doing it all myself now. Once I get that dialed, the site will start kicking.
Dec 22 2006, 04:17 AM
I know of a good studio where you can get your half builds photographed with the right lighting..
Dec 22 2006, 04:17 AM
haha You guys...
I have 2 half builds, which I showed one of, a page or three back. I just need some cranks that suit more than the black widows. I might try something different too.
My monoshock is a real pain to do at the moment. The bars don't fit properly and the motomags need some work. The seat is not even close yet.
Lots of work to do.
Merry ho ho boys.
chill and have a beer.
Dec 22 2006, 04:20 AM
What....no comments on the Quad????
LOl! Hope this whole thread doesn't get pulled!
Dec 22 2006, 04:21 AM
It's all part of the fun Glenno!! We know you wanna have your say.. hehehehe..
Dec 22 2006, 04:22 AM
Your powers of observation are astounding Luis. Yes, I post once a year because I live overseas and I return home about once a year to build my bikes. So what is your point?
As for others agreeing - sorry to burst your bubble but if you read ALL the responses over the past few pages again you will find that on ever single occassion, those that did respond overwhelmingly suggested that there is nothing wrong with posting "half-builds" as you put it. I think you are the one that is "half-baked" on this occassion.
Backing this up was a flurry of emails that suggested that you are basically a turkey and not to waste my time with you.
I don't even know what your issue is. What exactly don't you like or are you just unhappy with everything in general? Lighten up Luis.
Dec 22 2006, 04:31 AM
Ur a f_oo_l Martin.. you have just cross yourself out for good in my books and have shown US all that your just a sales teaser with your website / half builds / old photos.. etc.. Good luck too ya..
Oh yeah.. you might wanna be more original and change your wannabe GT logo.. hahaha.. it gives you a bad name throughout the BMX world.. hahaha..
Dec 22 2006, 04:32 AM
Kosy I think you may want to change all those "we"s to "I"s and the "us"s to "me"s
why you so bitter dude? where's the love this hobby is too small to be bitter at each other .
Dec 22 2006, 04:33 AM
Here's a close up
And, did I post this already?
Dec 22 2006, 04:35 AM
Dec 22 2006, 04:36 AM
What planet did you come from Luis?
You were in my bad books from day 1. Anybody who uses a mass murderer like Osama Bin Laden for an avatar must be a basket case devoid of any value system worthy of respect.
And it's not just the GT logo - if you look carefully there are nearly 10 logos incorporated for reasons that went way over your head - again.
I'm not in sales BTW. I could try and explain it to you but you wouldn't understand - way out of your league.

Dec 22 2006, 04:41 AM
Hey Martin.. dont you have something some builds to finish off before you fly back to LaLa land.. hahaha..
You need all the luck you can get!
Dec 22 2006, 04:41 AM
Gotta say, I had dinner with Luis a few weeks back when he was here in Melbourne. He asked a few to come along but I was the only one who showed!
I like him...I think he's a good guy!
Even though I'm a 'halfbuilder'!!!
Actually..I don't even know if I classify as a 'halfbuilder'.
Maybe more a 'quarter builder'.
Dec 22 2006, 04:46 AM
Cool pic Waza!
Can't say I'm a big fan of OM...anymore!
I see the floor is littered with quads yet it's a PK he's playing with in the jig.
That is one hell of a jig!
Dec 22 2006, 04:51 AM
Awesome Waza. Are they your frames he's working on? LOL
Luis. What are you talking about? LaLa land . . . ha ha ha? I think you have just been re-elected President of LaLa Land - population 1.

Hey come on Kosy. You been on the angry juice mate?
Last time Martin was in Oz:
Looks like progress to me!
Dec 22 2006, 05:12 AM
EASY TIGERS !!!!
all good . martin i think wht bully was saying from 2 pages back was that wheel building was relaxing ...
quote:well faced with the $210 price tag of getting a bike shop to do it makes it feel RELAXING !
Thanks for the thought but not my idea of relaxing
there is quite a few of us on here who (as you know) have bmx as a "hobby" , we have loadsa other things going on in our lives like ...kids, good times, other hobbys ..ect
and paying some bike shop to lace a set of wheels because we dont have 2-3 hours to do it ourself is not happening .
when you look at a bike you have built do you look at every spoke and remember how you put it together ? every bearing ? every detail ? every weld as i beadblasted the old paint from it ? every dent as i brazed it and filed it over befor it got painted or chromed ?
that is what is RELAXING , knowing you built them wheels with your own hands. its a simple and rewarding job .
martin your collection is absolutely amazing and every bike is built to perfection but some of us have more time than ca$h to throw at our bikes
absolutely no offence to any of yous guys intended with this post . keep up the good work marty , and half builds is good in my book .... but bloody build your own wheels
hey howard , stop teasing us and show us the rest of that choppzilla

Thanks Bruce. Nice classy avatar you have!
Dec 22 2006, 05:17 AM
Hey Ozzy - my comment was 2 sentences. I followed the not relaxing comment with "I'll botch it for sure".
It wouldn't be relaxing for me because I would make a mess of it. That's what I meant. I wasn't suggesting anything else other than that.
Dec 22 2006, 05:24 AM
Howard, is this more your style??
Dec 22 2006, 05:28 AM
$210 for a wheel build??? I get mine done for $40 - 1 set / 2 wheels.
Dec 22 2006, 05:30 AM
THAT is a gorgeous bike.
Dec 22 2006, 05:35 AM
Goodnight boys . . . it's been fun. Gotta go play on my 78.237854032132306834 % build.
