Yes, they are definitely centreline style Landing Gears.
I recall that photo, and yes, at one stage, I'm sure RL rode a PK (RL rode a lot of different bikes)
Damn, looking at those photos takes me back

Andy: Did I?... can't recall? did it have the plate at the time? Hmmmm.. That survivor looks hot dude.. BUT red tyres on a chrome Redline don't match.. needs blk tyres.. thats my 5cents
I've yet decided on what bike I will put red tyres!!
AndyDiamond
Dec 19 2006, 04:27 PM
Didn't have the plate (ex. Martin) at the time.
To be honest the bike looks cool but is a little kid's bike.
Too small.
I like my bikes pro size!
I don't like coloured tyres much.
Mind you, Prosight would probably put white tyres on it - lol

Luis,
In 1981, all GT framesets were available in blue, red or black epoxy, except for the pit. That was only available in chrome
For 1982, they offered the same colours, and as far as I know in late 1982, through 1983, they also offered black chrome.

I thought it rang a bell. I remember gorking at one in a Standish shop in Adelaide as a kid. It was maroon with yellow decals and gum coloured comp III's. Cool looking bike. I also sat on a brand new d/b turbo......should've put that on lay-buy! [ it was $550 ....doh ]

hey check out the robinson crap on ebay.com.au
http://offer.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...em=110069589286there was 3 bids cancelled including mine , and 4 bids retracted on the auction !
i bid ONCE was sent a "outbid" notice 3 TIMES over 2 days !!!
.... "you are now the highest bidder" ......"you have been outbid"...... "you are now the highest bidder" ......"you have been outbid" ect ,, i stuck a $77 bid on it to test the high bidder strength ! and its filled my email with junk
well watch out for the seller in the future , obviously someone has offered him some $$$$ off ebay and he has jumped ship .
hope you got a good deal waz

Dec 20 2006, 04:28 AM
That's great news Glenn if you can pull it off. Mine has been 12 months in the making andf after a false start with the frame there is another on the way. Hoping it arrives this week but who knows...

See the brake bridge on the diamond back...It's curved and has the little peice for the brakes allready on there. I've got a frame here with the exact same brake bridge but has a different head tube gusset. It has a round hole insted of a diamond. The frames look identical. Anyone know what this thing is?? I'll put up a photo latter.

why do us in OZ have so much trouble getting loopy rippers in good condition here ?
if its not ripped off by the seller .... its sent a cracked up piece of junk .
tip: you might already do this - search on ebay.com under "RIPPER" in the "sporting goods" section . the one i eventually got was listed as a "p.k ripper" which doesnt show up by searching for "pk ripper" - just a tip that got me a super condition cheapie , well ...$235us for a original paint job ,non dented, non marked, no cracks, 81 loopy with USlg's. sold by the ex wife of husband who rode it 20 yrs ago and left it in the garage

Dec 20 2006, 05:17 AM
I didn't have a problem with the first frame other than I wasn't able to polish it to my satisfaction and decided to look around for another. The upside, I will get to have a beautiful painted one as well...
OZZYBMX
Dec 20 2006, 05:47 AM
all good then jarvi , there is a few complaints from aus members that the first go they had at getting loopy pk ended in failure (inc mine) . hey a powdercoated loopy is worth as much as a polished one .... maybe not to you who wants a polished frame . and paint can hide the things we dont want to see !

Roy that Diamond back was made at the KOIZUMI factory in Japan. They made other frames and parts as well. It is posiably a Bennet, check the serial number on the rear drop out. KOIZUMI used the baseball stamp on most of there products.
