Man!!.. whats going on with PM's... ??
mcam
Is it my eyes?

Or is RL sporting centreline style Landing Gear forks on his PK? Something I have noticed before.
prosight
looks like it??????????
COASTY
Bugger me. Your right. Thats gotta be a rare item. 1 of 1 I would imagine. I thought Buff rode a PK. I don't remember ever seeing RL on a PK.
mcam
Yes, they are definitely centreline style Landing Gears.

I recall that photo, and yes, at one stage, I'm sure RL rode a PK (RL rode a lot of different bikes)

Damn, looking at those photos takes me back
KOSY-MOTO
AND while we are on the subject on Redlines.. is this my favourite.. gotta love those red tyres

ENjoy
AndyDiamond
I guess I should post this again:

AndyDiamond
Ozzy - that GT appears to be early 90s.
proline2
Luis and his red tyre fetish LOL.
nice one Andy..................can i have those forks? they're the right colour, but wrong stickers LOL
KOSY-MOTO
ANDY: I've never seen that White RL before.. WOW.. but it's missing something!! RED TYRES BRO!!
AndyDiamond
Red snakebelllies mate!

Here's a 'survivor':

AndyDiamond
Luis - you saw that Redline at my house homie!

Proline - the forks are the same as that I have here (and need to damn well photgraph for you).
KOSY-MOTO
Andy: Did I?... can't recall? did it have the plate at the time? Hmmmm.. That survivor looks hot dude.. BUT red tyres on a chrome Redline don't match.. needs blk tyres.. thats my 5cents

I've yet decided on what bike I will put red tyres!!
AndyDiamond
Didn't have the plate (ex. Martin) at the time.

To be honest the bike looks cool but is a little kid's bike.
Too small.
I like my bikes pro size!

I don't like coloured tyres much.

Mind you, Prosight would probably put white tyres on it - lol
KOSY-MOTO
Yeah Im the same coloured aren't my cup of tea.. BUT then again on the Kosy they look a-killer

AND whats wrong with white tyres? huh.. hehehe
AndyDiamond
White tyres are GHEY but that's why you like them!
KOSY-MOTO
huh??????... here you go Andy..
KOSY-MOTO
And whats wrong with grey tyres?.. my dad has a set on he's wheelchair / 24's Skyways:
prosight
Andy that bike's to early for white tyre's but my 1983 JMC go's with 1983/4 white comp 3's..I had to put the white comp 3's on something....lol.....
KOSY-MOTO
OKAY OKAY.. I need to know what colours came out on GT 24's non-chrome. Need photos... need info on colour specs.

Kosy-Moto
AndyDiamond

Apologies to all the closet homos on here (all you freestlyers).

<------------

LOL
mcam
Luis,

In 1981, all GT framesets were available in blue, red or black epoxy, except for the pit. That was only available in chrome

For 1982, they offered the same colours, and as far as I know in late 1982, through 1983, they also offered black chrome.
meatpie

Build's/improvements over christmas....

QuicksilverBMX
Hmm i might have to take a drive up to Kingsley

Hey did one the Aussies ask about a Bumble Bee BMX? I wasnt sure if someone was chasing one.
serva
Reece. is bumble bee a real bmx?
Mr.BMX
mccam:
GTs also came out in chrome ;-)
Kurt.
LOL Marty. Are you sure? I wouldn't be arguing anything GT related with Mcam

Hey Meatpie - Nice project material there!!!
Kurt.
Couple of projects on the go myself:
QuicksilverBMX
Serva, yeah a bumble bee is an 80's bmx, i found one today
serva
I thought it rang a bell. I remember gorking at one in a Standish shop in Adelaide as a kid. It was maroon with yellow decals and gum coloured comp III's. Cool looking bike. I also sat on a brand new d/b turbo......should've put that on lay-buy! [ it was $550 ....doh ]
COASTY
I might have a deal comin shortly. If all goes well I'll be riding a very familiar ride once more. Heres hoping!
Nice projects too guys. Should look awsome when finished.
mcam
Oh yeah, they also came in chrome...LOL

I forgot that bit...LOL

Oh, and if anyone has a pair of 1982/83 GT 24 forks, please let me know. I'd like to find some....
Jarvi
Glenn, is a PK getting close? I'm getting closer to finally finishing mine which was very similar to yours.
COASTY
yeah baby. This guy knows his bikes (he's Patterson guy) and he said it has Tuffs on it too.
OZZYBMX
hey check out the robinson crap on ebay.com.au

http://offer.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...em=110069589286

there was 3 bids cancelled including mine , and 4 bids retracted on the auction !

i bid ONCE was sent a "outbid" notice 3 TIMES over 2 days !!!

.... "you are now the highest bidder" ......"you have been outbid"...... "you are now the highest bidder" ......"you have been outbid" ect ,, i stuck a $77 bid on it to test the high bidder strength ! and its filled my email with junk

well watch out for the seller in the future , obviously someone has offered him some $$$$ off ebay and he has jumped ship .

hope you got a good deal waz
Jarvi
That's great news Glenn if you can pull it off. Mine has been 12 months in the making andf after a false start with the frame there is another on the way. Hoping it arrives this week but who knows...
OldSkoolRoy
See the brake bridge on the diamond back...It's curved and has the little peice for the brakes allready on there. I've got a frame here with the exact same brake bridge but has a different head tube gusset. It has a round hole insted of a diamond. The frames look identical. Anyone know what this thing is?? I'll put up a photo latter.
OZZYBMX
why do us in OZ have so much trouble getting loopy rippers in good condition here ?

if its not ripped off by the seller .... its sent a cracked up piece of junk .

tip: you might already do this - search on ebay.com under "RIPPER" in the "sporting goods" section . the one i eventually got was listed as a "p.k ripper" which doesnt show up by searching for "pk ripper" - just a tip that got me a super condition cheapie , well ...$235us for a original paint job ,non dented, non marked, no cracks, 81 loopy with USlg's. sold by the ex wife of husband who rode it 20 yrs ago and left it in the garage
Jarvi
I didn't have a problem with the first frame other than I wasn't able to polish it to my satisfaction and decided to look around for another. The upside, I will get to have a beautiful painted one as well...
OZZYBMX
all good then jarvi , there is a few complaints from aus members that the first go they had at getting loopy pk ended in failure (inc mine) . hey a powdercoated loopy is worth as much as a polished one .... maybe not to you who wants a polished frame . and paint can hide the things we dont want to see !
Mattblack
Roy that Diamond back was made at the KOIZUMI factory in Japan. They made other frames and parts as well. It is posiably a Bennet, check the serial number on the rear drop out. KOIZUMI used the baseball stamp on most of there products.
KOSY-MOTO
Thanks for the GT ad's.. BUT still doesn't tell me what colour CRUISERS they made.. Im a proud owner of a 1981 GT-24 (Chrome).. but wanna paint it red or blue maybe candy? thats why I waan know what year and colours were available?
www.martin-bike.com
Had to put the GTs on hold so experimenting with a candy apple red PK. This has been powdercoated - different to the Redline.

Still trying to figure out combinations.
broke L345
I love candy red bikes!!!! hey kosy, that redline mxII was my first restoration, it now has black oakley 3s on it. I'm glad you like it.
broke L345
wow martin you've got green grass we haven't seen that in Melbourne for ages.
www.martin-bike.com
Yeah, it rained in Sydney most of last night.
AndyDiamond
Well that PK's gotta have chrome or gold rims right?

Or black graphite tuffs?
