Oct 20 2006, 02:03 PM
Hey Luis - Yellow label Comp !!!s on that Kosssy too. Nice.
Silly question - is your DX lever set to "small" - looks close to the bar. I always find DX levers work brilliantly on "large" because of the extra leverage, and hardly work at all on "small".
Very nice ride mate - never get sick of lookin at her.

Project is under wraps at the SkunkWorks!
Lets just say it is kinda OLD School and Kinda not!
Unveiling maybe a month away (If I could sell some stuff!)
Have you found me a caliper? And shoot me an Email with a price for those odd round things I was talking about.
Oct 20 2006, 05:57 PM
Kurt Tee: Yeah buddy those Comp tyres look massive like balloon tyres! hehehe,... AND yes those are the small DX levers.. I wasn't so keen on them at first, because BITD they never used to pull up 100% snapped afew cables etc.. BUT once you find the right setting theu pull up 100%!

Make sure you have your say on the great "NOS Wheels question" debate!! NOOOOOOOOOSS!!
Oct 22 2006, 05:16 AM
I started working on my 1986 GT World Tour and realised I'm missing one part.
Anyone have a NOS Dia Compe brake cable in White that is stamped 86? She's gotta be an 86 cable.
Any help would be appreciated.
Oct 22 2006, 05:50 AM
AJK Bikes has white Dia Compe cables but doesn't mention dates, just in case you hadn't checked there. Worth an email to them I guess.
Oct 22 2006, 07:04 AM

Coulda been sold under different stickers I suppose, but that looks identical to a Raleigh Burner frame. Cr@p!
Oct 22 2006, 11:15 PM
Must be a real poor area when a shytebox like that still gets locked up ;-)
Do u have a closer pic of the front gusset holes?
The holes don't 'quite' look exactly like the raleigh ones, but close.
The HK models were often (H)animex frames, although they all pop out the same factory.
Oct 23 2006, 01:52 AM
Yeah it does Reece!
When I realise it's happening I just stop bidding.
I hope I'm the highest bidder before the last schill.
I then wait for the "second chance offer" and let them know what they can do with their "second chance".
Oct 23 2006, 01:53 AM
Raleigh frame looks same. Forks had the 'R' cut out in the dropouts.

Oct 23 2006, 03:19 AM
hey i just picked up a set of gt steel tube rides today new in pack 24tpi, anybody know any info on these?
and is anyone chasing a set by any chance.
Oct 23 2006, 03:30 AM
Bully....ask ROBERTO, he will be able to tell you about them, and may want them!
Oct 23 2006, 03:53 AM
cool thanks serva, yeah, i want to first find out details before, i do anything with them.
and haha just read the thread, far out, simple as, ive found ****loads more sketchy auctions, if not 200% sure on the deal, don't bid simple, then don't winge when you've been givin, a more than adequite offer to clean off the deal.
Oct 23 2006, 05:56 AM
A schill is the act of bidding on your own auction to jack the price up. Either under a different ebay account or friend, wife, etc.
Even some of our Aussie 'friends' are guilty of it.
The whole Ebay thing of dishonest people and 'pretend' auctions sucks. I've been ripped a couple of times...once for $400.00 but I've also got some GREAT deals.
Only place I can get parts for my 'Burb' is the USA. Cheapest by far is the 'Bay'. I've saved many thousands by using it.
One thing that really annoys me is the newcomers who come on and bid to stay in front. Obviously they get caught up in the hype of 'winning' but they jack the price right up when they could have got a real bargain by waiting until the last minute.
Gotta agree with Bully, if you don't like it, think it's too expensive, a rip-off or aren't sure....don't bid. Simple!!!
Oct 23 2006, 06:15 AM
oh yeah, sorry, you've got my point there, on how i see it, but i was actually referring to the guy in the other thread who sold an item, then, the guy who won acted like it was a confusing auction, i know ive sent many an email to verify siomething that i was just slightly unsure on, just incase say wording was a little bacwards or something, although that was as straight forward as an auction gets haha.
yeah when ever i normally bid on item, i normaly leave it to atleast the last day, if not the last 5 minutes of the auction, ever since i signed up, i'm not silly i'm not gonna send the price up and tthen screw myself over.
Yeah there were those haros up recently where the guy was dooing it, and thats just dodgy, so i wouldn't bid on an auction where thats going on, and wouldn't do it myself, it's just dodgy.
The great thing about ebay, you can sometime pick up some real bargains just the other day i won a brand new ti spindle for 14 ausd shipped, i once won a set of sealed 3pc cranks for 11.50 aus in good nic with a last minute bid.

Oct 24 2006, 02:14 AM
Finally got around to blasting the baby blue Tuff II's.
This pic shows the two together.
The front (right) has been blasted, scotch brite'd (industrial) and CRC'd.
The rear (left) has only been sand blasted so far.
This is the front after a spray of CRC. Hasn't been soaked yet!

Oct 24 2006, 05:03 AM
Thanks Glenno, Luis.
Looking forward to getting this PK finished...well both of them actually.
Still need forks for the junior/expert. LG Lites preferrably.
Ozzy, I also posted on that thread. Wasn't surprised it was removed...censorship at its finest!
Oct 24 2006, 05:23 AM
Looking good Howard. You PK has taken even longer than mine I think.
Also need to retract some comments I made earlier about Flatlandfuel.com and their shipping costs. I ordered a set of the Peregrine rims and a couple of pairs of grips that they have stopped production on. Ordered 8pm on 18/10 and they arrived today. Shipping was $6 more than they charged so I benefited from the shipping cost by dollar rather than product in this case. I can confirm what Bully said about them and I think AOL's well-publiscised spam filters must have got my previous email hence no reply.
Oct 24 2006, 05:33 AM
got any pix Jarvi?
Oct 24 2006, 05:41 AM
The PK or the rims? You've seen the PK at Terrigal and the rims are just plain silver rims.
