Oct 14 2006, 01:44 AM
Cool old Redline you've got there Scott - top job!
Oct 14 2006, 04:46 PM
Love the colours
Will it be a rider ?
Oct 15 2006, 12:42 AM

glad the color came out good...
Oct 15 2006, 06:30 AM
Nice work Scott!
Oct 15 2006, 04:39 PM
picked up a couple of cool scores this weekend but who cares eh? only threads with negitivity get any attention in vintage chat. (either that or you're a US citizen) A moron selling dud aerospeeds comands 17 pages but some dude who put time & effort into a build barely gets into the second page.
Wazas ET springs to mind, theres a few others but that one springs to mind because of the quality.
Seems no one really wants to chat unless someone is ripping someone off or someone is causing trouble.
Oct 15 2006, 06:34 PM
well said..........but who cares eh?...
i think you pick up some nice stuff this weekend well done...........
Oct 15 2006, 07:43 PM
I'm not going to let Scott ride that one!
She's just too nice.
Regards, Roberto /
Chief of the Bike Police
Oct 15 2006, 08:43 PM
Has there been a coup?
Has V8 been usurped?
I don't know, Quickies going off, Roberto taking control, this is all a little unsettling. I think I will go and lie down.
(now go and buy some of my Ebay stuff!)
Oct 15 2006, 11:57 PM
It's worse over on the other site. I've never seen a bigger pack of whingers! I thought the poms were bad. They're nothing compared to those guys.
What ever happened to the bikes??
I'm over it.
Nice scores you got too Reece. The redline looks like my 440. It's a trimoly and a similar serial number.

Oct 16 2006, 08:02 AM
hey ozzy, sorry to hear about the PK dramas, that sux bud
Oct 16 2006, 02:48 PM
Hey guys, check out this mid-school (88?) Titan I built up.
The seat sucks (I'm looking at putting a black Uni Turbo on it).
Pretty cool looking bike though.
Oct 16 2006, 03:06 PM
I was inspired by Kurt and Luis using Victor DX copies on their builds so I got a set myself.
Chucked them on the GT for a look.
Not too bad eh?
Oct 16 2006, 03:10 PM
However, I'm going to put these on the GT (finally got some!)
NOS SR Speedtraps....
Oct 16 2006, 03:11 PM
...and, how about a 'random BMX photo of the day'...
Oct 16 2006, 03:42 PM
I know its a bit late but that redline loods awesome. Attention to detail and taking the time.... fantastic.
And the vans patch from above.... I remember in the 80's geting mum to sew it on over my 'penguin' shirt.... so it looked like I had a vans shirt.... sad but true.
Cool pics from the WA ride...... with summer comming and girls wearing less clothes.... anyone in for a ride round surfers (QLD).
Oct 16 2006, 04:05 PM
hey quicksilver, that's a great collection of bikes there. i only remember 1 or 2 of them from BITD.
Andy, what type of finish is on the titan frame?
Oct 16 2006, 04:13 PM
Proline - the Titan has something called 'hammerfall' as the frame finish (or something like that)...
Kind of like the Hutch 'futuristic black'.
Looks real cool.
Oct 16 2006, 04:31 PM
well what a week. the post man came good with a redline 1980 MX2 frame, 1983 proline F/F, a couple of brute stems and other things that are needed for various builds i have in mind. i just about live on the bay now scouring for different bits as i only started this game about a month or so ago. that elusive Quicky is out there somewhere, i know it is LOL. i've found that there are certain items that are going to be near impossible to get or if found i'll need to sell a kidney to fund it. correct pads and frame stickers are the main bugbears. at the end of the day it's not only the finished bikes that will be a joy, it's the fact that so many rare parts will be obtained to complete them as per BITD, and that in itself will be just as satisfying.
when i see some of the collections like Martin's, Quicksilver's and so many of you other blokes i cannot help but think of the absolute dedication you have in this fine hobby. i hope to one day grace these pages with some of my own builds replicating what myself or friends from BITD used to thrash around.
Oct 16 2006, 04:35 PM
There is a Quicksilver on ebay right now, the guy is in NSW
Oct 16 2006, 04:54 PM
i'm being pedantic, i know, but thats the wrong frame. thanks anyway for the heads up.
Oct 16 2006, 05:01 PM
Proline - I have a set of Redline MX III forks (chrome, used but OK) and a Redline Brute stem (faded pink, usual marks, rooted stem bolt).
Oct 16 2006, 08:04 PM
Put the SR's on the GT Andy !!
What a great bike too.
Oct 16 2006, 08:21 PM
Roberto - yep - the SRs are going on the GT.
Oct 16 2006, 08:57 PM
thanks Andy but i've already got the stems i need atm. were the MX3 forks different to MX2? as my MX2 frame is a non redline stamped one, which i'm led to believe is a pre 1980 model.
Oct 16 2006, 09:04 PM
proline2 do you need redline cranks as im selling a set of redline 400's off my show PK RIPPER that im parting out
Oct 16 2006, 09:53 PM
gawd, you blokes are gunna get sick of me saying no all the time LOL
prosight, i've already picked up a set of 401's for my proline. the MX2 will have the sugino 1 piece and shimano DX's my old man found in his shed.
the tough ones for me atm are v bar, stem and 5 snap white pad set and also the 3 colour proline 2 sticker set without the "carrerer" in the stripe (if you know what i mean)
Oct 16 2006, 10:00 PM
Yeah man - those decals are hard to find.
I got a set of MXIII repros....
I think the MXII and MXIII fork is exactly the same (I have both frames).
Here's my MXIII (has the repro decals on it).
Oct 16 2006, 10:02 PM
The Black Aero is a bit over the top for this build but I had it laying around.
Oct 16 2006, 10:09 PM
oooh yes very nice, Andy.
those stickers are similar to the proline ones i'm chasing. the MX2 has a different sticker set where the "MX" letters are way bigger.
i was going to put a set of NOS TX 1200's on the MX2 but i think it would be better to put the redline forks on it.
Oct 16 2006, 10:54 PM
I know where to get those decals - correct with the white outlines.
Nice Andy! Love the number plate!!!
Here's my 1982 Proline in progress . . .
Oct 16 2006, 11:03 PM
Thanks Martin - that's the plate I got off you.
Let me know if you want the forks Proline.
Oct 17 2006, 12:17 AM
mmm nice set there Martin.
Andy i tried pm-ing you earlier about the forks but your box is full.
Oct 17 2006, 12:22 AM
I'll fix it - lol
Oct 17 2006, 12:48 AM
nice bikes over the last couple of pages, lovin the black chopper there.
is it just me or did a large portion of that aerospeeds thread seem very immature, although this is coming from a 16year old so thats just how i'm seeing it, meh. I guess this is why i'm spending a little less time here than earlier on.
anyway any of you guy's interested in these
, i thought it was interesting, but can't stretch after postage and all, anyway if any of the other aussie guys do decide to order any, let us know as i might be ordering a couple other newschool parts, so might be able to save a little on postage.
just thought couple of you guys might be interested.
Oct 17 2006, 02:31 AM
Andy that Redline looks great. Just how I remember them.
Bully, tempted, but that site sucks as far as shipping goes because they base the shipping on the dollar cost rather than size and weight. Although I guess USD35 for shipping a set of rims isn't too bad. When I enquired about cheaper shipping for some DVDs they never replied. Wasn't going to pay 35 for a triple disc DVD set.
Oct 17 2006, 02:31 AM
Just got back from Sydney. Supercharger makes it alot nicer, smoother drive. Those big hills on the Sydney side of Gundegai were reduced to mole hills!
I noticed there was a hard rubbish collection going on and saw a couple of BMX frames poking out from under fridges and outdoor settings but didn't have time to stop and rat through stuff. Doubt my wife would have been too thrilled at the idea either! (not that that has ever stopped me before
The yearly pic at the Tuckerbox!
Oct 17 2006, 02:59 AM
Nice Redlines galore at the mo. Sweet.
Nice pics too Howie. Have taken a couple of the dog on the tuckerbox myself at times. Must be damn dry up the Hume at the moment - sh!te, even here in Tassie it's dry.
Have you seen the night time bushfire shot of one of the Hobart bushfires last week?
Oct 17 2006, 03:18 AM
Yep been there myself a few times too. Truck looks cool Howard. How was the fuel consumption? or shouldn't I ask ?
Kurt thats a wicked photo! I know fires aren't nice, but thats a damn cool pic.
Oct 17 2006, 03:54 AM
WOW Howie.. cool famliy shot.. And hey Kurtie.. thats a killa pix! amazing!! are you far from that bush fire?
Oct 17 2006, 04:07 AM
Didn't realise the fires were that close. Part of the state loses their crops because of a frost and another part loses trees because of a fire and other parts of the country are bedding down for a bad drought. Not good news.
Oct 17 2006, 04:19 AM
Yeah whats going on in Tassie? one day frost next day bush fires!!
