Kurt.
Hey - a small score today. There's a "Scout Auction" down the road from me. Went for a wander in a sea of 100 or so donated bikes - you know, hoping to stumble on a $5 Proline or PK or Moose...

Anyway - everything was cr@p - except for a solitary red Z-rim spoked into the original red ACS high flange rear hub, with suntour freewheel. Looks to be in nearly unused condition, just a bit dirty and faded. Hub v good.

Anyway - not a bad pick up for free. Does anyone know - do Z-rims respond to a soak in WD40 like tuffs do???
COASTY
They should do Kurt. Someone on here did a restore a while back. Roy maybe? Looked good.

Does anyone have a set of LG lites they want to get rid of?
Need some for my Sons 90 something PK (Junior).

Howard
bullyhotrod86jh
yeah i tried them out friday night and they didn't seem to different than normal fairly good, i think the tight weave they have might make the spokes tension a little strange, sorta give a minnute bit of excess absorbition. But since the bends are mainly right near the hub, it might be actually help to keep them solid at the rim.
I got the freewheel off the back one at work today, so i might give it one more friday race meet to test them. Then if there holding well so far, imight try it on the back one.
Although, i'm not to shure on these hubs, but i guess it's a nice little project, as i do enjoy wheel building and such.
OZZYBMX
thanks guys , the rims were cooked in an oven we have in work for about 24 hours at 95deg , i only used one bottle of RIT dye too .

ROBERTO
Hi guys!

Can someone here tell me about this auction?
What bike is it? Why are there 19 bids on it?
Why has it reached $135?

I'm just really really curious.

Auction bike
AussieRampar
Might be suss, alot of small numbers next to those names, I hope "Geckocloud" is not a victim of the old shill.

There are some parts on that bike (Raleigh burner) that aren't that easy to find (alloy hubbed red tuffs, MX1000, OGK grips, decent MX2 stem etc.)

My 2c,
-Pete.

ROBERTO
Thanks Pete!

I originally spied those parts but thought the price was a bit far fetched for the condition and maybe there was a secret part I couldn't see.

I hope someone doesn't get Raleigh Burnt !
OldSkoolRoy
Your right Pete.....tuffs, grips, bars, stem and cranks/pedals. I think your also right about them getting a bit over excited about wanting to W I N the auction. LOL.
serva
If they pay to much....thats just TUFF!!

What have you started here Robert?
waza007

Waza , that pedal looks sooo good. Top work mate.
We sold our house today and we've found a house in Hervey Bay! 1 month and the move north is on. I'm dreading the packing up. My shed is gonna be a pain in the butt.
OldSkoolRoy
Hervey Bay!!!! What are you up to son?? Hmmmm...goldcoast to northcoast....have you got a job up there or just a change in lifestyle? Good luck with the move. Hope it all goes well.
Nice job on the pedals Waza!! Talk us through the details of the resto.
REDLINEOZ....Happy B'day for yesterday!!!!!!!!!
L0L@Serva....is that your auction Scott??
dugga
Hey Luis, this pic's for you.....red bull powered vee-dub
dugga
Pic from south eastern cash dash on sunday...jarvi checks out the first aid truck. I think he was looking for a nurse
Jarvi
Dugga, that's not a joke. My last partner was a nurse. Must remember to take a cap as my helmet hair is not good. Course grey hair dyed blonde plus sweat doesn't make a pretty site does it?

CoastVL, my last memory of Hervey Bay was walking along the beach and a girl about 10 metres up the beach takes her bikini top off ready for sunbathing. Timing is everything. Seriously, a nice area and assume it is still booming. Seemed to be plenty of money and opportunities.
waza007
That pedal was 10 mins work
file, sand and polish then a spray can annodising finish

budget resto - just wanted to show it can be done with elbow grease and $12 can of paint. Clear over the top and it would not scratch as easily.

waz
Kurt.
Beautful job on that pedal Waza - amazing what you can resto isn't it.

On that Raleigh on the Bay, I initially thought someone had got over excited and mistaken it for a mid 70's Redline - similar gusset, but of course they weren't a looptail.

I suppose $154 isn't too bad for those tuffs, rear caliper and the rest of the running gear. Frame could go to the tip...
AndyDiamond
Hey you Aussie guys, what's the story with sending crusier frames to Aus?

Is there some kind of size restriction for airmail?
AndyDiamond
Today's latest haul. Not $10 for the lot or anything but certainly good value.

QuicksilverBMX
Nice one Andy, I wish I could find more over here but i thing my tyre run has finished.
AndyDiamond
you have a tonne anyway mate!

I still have that gold hub if you want it.
Old logo but a SunTour all the same
Jarvi

]Hey you Aussie guys, what's the story with sending crusier frames to Aus?

Andy, yes there is a size limit. I can't find it on the Aus Post website and can't remember it off the top of my head. That said, it can be done, just don't have a lot of extra packaging. Size is everything. Have a look on the site as I'm sure it's there somewhere. It's a calculation of length x height x width and must be less than a certain number I think.
AndyDiamond
Thanks Jarvi.

I think I heard somewhere that US guys couldn't post cruiser to you guys.

Thing is, I might have one for sale and no point advertising it to you lot if I can't send it to you - lol
84profile
Nice Haul Andy!

Don't know if any of you guys can, help but I'm putting together this GT and I'm missing the locking nut of the 28T bottom bracket? Anyone have a spare nut, they wish to sell? Same as the one on my profile (please see below)

Kurt.
I reckon you'd be able to send it Andy - just probably have to be bubble wrapped rather than in a box.

I think the weight limit for airmail is 20kg.

They also have a "cubing rule" though where, as Jarvi says, they multiply length, by width, by height.

For example a package 100 cm x 50cm x 15cm would work out to be nearly 19kgs (so you can see some frames would cause a problem, depending on how they are wrapped...)

Cheers Kurt
COASTY
84profile, I may have one you can have. I have a box of bearing bits in the shed. I'm sure theres one in there.
COASTY
Heres a link to the aussie post international guidlines. They have a system called ECI as well.

Jarvi
What a magic day here in Melbourne today. Beautiful summer weather and I was able to spend a couple of hours at one of the tracks trying to get used to my new GT Ultra Box. Should have been working, but to quote the guy from Risky Business, "what the f....", I'm going riding.
OZZYBMX
guys , i honestly all depends on the post office , i have 2 post offices that i used to use to post wakeboards around oz , they are 155cm x 50cm x 10cm ... over half a meter too long , as long as the package is light enough for the size some post offices will do it . i have posted about (35-40 boards)

i also sent my proflex mbike to port headland (woop woop) minus the wheels . it was well the size of a cruiser .

if you have a local post office that you use all the time , work out the box size and take it into them and ask will they post it INTERNATIONAL if it weighs 5kg ? all they can say is no .
OZZYBMX
hey glen ECI is the way to go , i have posted 2 streetbeat frames to the uk , it took 4 days to get there from oz . the package is delivered by courier and trackable evey inch of the way + insured . But they dont deliver to po boxes , it must be a home addy or a business .
84profile
Hey Glen

That would be great if you do.....I'm happy to pick it up or whatever..just let me know what works for you ...thanks again...

Cheers

Stu
AndyDiamond
Thanks for the postage info.
dugga
nice one Jarvi..... good to see the aussie work ethic is alive and well
Jarvi
Yeah Dugga, I wasn't the only one there either. Fortunately part of my income isn't directly related to the hours I work. Positives and negatives to that with fluctuations, but the ebay watchlist is pretty small at the moment so spending is minimal.
COASTY
Stu, I'll check this arvo or tomorrow (lots goin on around here ATM!) and let you know.

i just received a redline frame from the US and the bloke who sent it to me had a hell of a time with the size. he had to put it in a smaller box twice before they accepted it. mind you the box still could have fitted everything except wheels. hahahahaha the box and packing weighed more than the frame.
COASTY
Stu, How many do you need? This is a 28tpi BB too. Most of it is new. They fit Redline and goose cranks.
OZZYBMX
i'll have 4 GTR skylines and a pink purse please
