Hey Guys,

I have bought some property so I can build a BMX track in the backyard (about 45 minutes north of Melbourne). Move in mid March.
I have been thinking, before I get started, maybe I could set out an old school race course that's BUMS style...you know back to roots kind of deal. Grass track, a snake pit, the odd roller/whoop-de-do and make a day of it.
Any thoughts? Anyone interested?
I have to decide pretty quick because I want to get started on my track asap and will need to book a bobcat.

HI Shane,

I was trying to plan the same thing with another guy, but the land (& finances) fell thru.

We were looking at laying down a very oldschool track, NOTHING like todays near-vert jumps etc.
The track in mind would have jumps maybe no taller than 3 feet, tabletops,dips,woopdoos, step ups etc, just like we had in the 80's.

The idea of our track was to open to the racing public (or at least for oldschoolers) and race like we used to, where SPEED counted, and not who could manual/pump the best....todays racing is ****!

We did contemplate the idea of starting a new racing sanction, because the politics of bmxvic/bmx oz are not about racing anymore, and the rules are bull****, no thanx to uci governing everything.
I'm still pushing that angle to a few people too, so if bmxvic didnt want to 'add' our oldschool track into it's sanction, we would just go it alone, and run races with no crap, better promotion, better support and TROPHIES......and keep entry fee down.

Count me in Shane, i'd certainly add my input and ideas, and labour to making it a reality.

Can u be more specific of your land location? or maybe in email?

Its awesome the things that you find when you start looking.

First thing that I need are a F&F sticker set. There are ones on ebay but I would guess that they are re-productions.

And a Kashimax Aero seat...

And HUTCH hubs...

and.... It wont stop.
