Discovery Channel Team to Fold Man, and I thought Postal walking away with six tour wins in six years was bad. There goes Discovery with two wins in three years and the team to disband? Whew, how could you walk away with a record like that? First and third in the biggest race of the year, I think we'll close up shop now.
Weird...

How about Rabobank pulling Rasmussen less than a week away from the overall Tour win?

What's not being printed in the mass media is that many of the top road teams are now in fear of the sanctioning bodies catching up with the cheaters, AKA doping.
I believe Discovery is getting out becuase it doesn't want it's "lance" area tarnished as being acheived by doping.
Discovery has plenty of marketing capital, but is wisely thinking twice about being affiliated with a sports organization which could be linked with cheating.

BTW - Rasmussen got what he deserved.
You break the rules then your not eligable to participate.
The crazy thing is, why did the societe Tour De France let him start to begin with?

Because they are French.

Indeed we were, and I was in favor of the rules being followed.

Gerolsteiner have just announced they will be getting out of cycling. Pretty soon BMX pros will be making more than cycling pros.
Maybe we'll see Robbie Mcewen back on the BMX track. If he can get his gates dialed i'm sure he can get a few holeshots.
