I am checking it out daily, but I still can't believe this went on...

Here's a link that covers the courtroom drama very well including the issue with FL's former biz manager...

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news.php?id=new...affair_complete

For those who don't know the story, here's the cliff notes:
1. Greg LeMond has private conversation with FL encouraging him to "come clean" about doping in his tour victory.

2. In this conversation, LeMond tells FL a very private detail about his childhood, again trying to get him to open up & admit his mistakes. Turns out LeMond was molested as a child.

3. The night before LeMond was so testify in court against FL, he gets a phone call from a man claiming to be his uncle. LeMond said the caller said many things including, "I am your uncle and if you want me to finish this... We can talk about how we used to hide your weenie."

4. LeMond calls back the number from his caller ID and gets a voicemail message that uses the name 'Will'. Funny coincidence is that 'Will' is the name of FL's best friend and biz manager, Will Geoghegan.

5. Will Geoghegan admits that FL told him of the conversation he had with LeMond and he made the call "on my own, impulsively, after a beer or two". (HOW SHADY IS THIS??!!??)

6. FL fires Will as biz manager.

7. Case is still ongoing...

I am not defending Landis, although there are some things I question about the whole lab thing, but LeMond has not been any help to Lance or Floyd in either of there doping battles. I seem to remember him saying he would not be surprised to find out Lance was doping although he was tested more than anybody else. Now with Floyd he tells him to "come clean", assuming he had actually taken the testosterone. I've always had a feeling that LeMond does not want any other USA cyclist to be consdered better than him self.

Now that Zabel, Riis, Vaughters, etc 'fessed up, it's time for the others to admit what the rest of the world already knows...

The lab thing is crap IMO. It reminds me of O.J. and the planted evidence. It was wrong, but it didn't make him less guilty. I'd rather live in a country that frees guilty people than one that imprisons the innocent.

Lemond was (is) a great cyclist. He has nothing to be jealous of. I'm not buying it.
