Welcome to the obsession.

Which rides did you get? Models, specs, etc. Oh yeah, be prepared to obsess over grams when selecting new parts for upgrade. 454 grams to a pound.

And Remember- NO underwear under the shorts!

I had a Giant myself....loved that bike, especially for long rides. Just sold it, now I only have 2 left, a Cannondale R4000 and my Mongoose cyclocross bike. pjbaz is right, it's an obsession!!!

Also remember, no hairy legged spandex clad riders!!! LOL!! It just looks wrong.

I don't shave my legs...but I do wear the gear

Well we went and spent $500 on spandex today! OUCH This sport is as pricey as BMX! My husband got some nice gel ones (LOL)! I am going to look at some they just did not have any that fit good! Any ideas! And really how do you dress for this sport??? What NOT to do???

You thought Spandex was expensive, just wait until you start buying those Mocha Lattes after every group ride.
racingchic
Lattes?? Too much fat in those!

By far the road addiction is / can be more expensive than BMX. Just read my Bicycling magazine.....had a $23,000 bike build inside. YIKES!!! I built up my Cannondale piece by piece, and I love it, it's exactly as I would want it. Light as anything and crazy fast......Once you start riding more, you'll notice all the little things that you'd like to change /improve from your stock bike.

As far as what to wear, just be comfortable. The more comfortable you are the more often you'll be on the bike!!! Post some pics of the new rides!!!
