Looking for pics and info on any of the midschool flatland frames. I have been trying to find pics of a built up Volume Mid Andrew Farris edition. What about the sabbath or any of the other frames I can't remember seeing. I hadn't really gotten back into BMX at that time and missed seing most of these frames.
Keith King
Farris didnt ride that bike long , he was more known for riding a Azereal , or his Pink Frame .The most popular mid school frames were , Hoffman Big Daddys, Standard Shortys , and Morales .I dont know of a single person that rode a mid except Andrew .

I've got a 1995 Homeless Player frame that I had built up 4 years ago with a 1" threadless Hoffman Superfork. It was a brilliant flatland set up.
The Homeless frame and Hoffman Superfork are currently up for sale.

The pink Faris Schwinn was rad—the 36-24-36. They pop up every so often, but it seems like they made more Azraels. Were they identical frames except for the paint? I'm pretty sure they were both aluminum.
Keith King
34 24 36 was Chromoly and Heavy .

The Azraels were Aluminum and redesigned some what , the same company made my King Frames .

There is one on ebay

When I think of mid school flatland frames I think of the copper plated Standard shorty, those were the bomb.

I recently got my hands on a s&m sabbath frame, this frame is a tank. Does anyone remember the primo frame? I think a photo of the prototype frame was shown in bmx plus once.
Keith King
I remember Shawn White having that frame(Primo) at a contest in Florida ( "contest of Love" Play) The headtube bearings were the size of a bottom bracket , when the bike was put together it weighed almost 50 lbs ! I think 20 inch Video magazine had a interview with shawn about the frame , at this ame time Shawn introduced the Primo V Monster skin walls ..which I still run today .
Stone
cool. Any pics of these frames? I don't remember ever seeing anything about the primo frame.
I have a KHE Unique(black)I bought off of ebay. I may try and sell it so I can find a midschool flatframe like a eastern seeker or Volume mid or something I can ride flat/street on.

For me the best mid-school flatland frame has to be the Morales!

That is my azrael,I ride flatland on..Its a great frame but Im sure by the end of the summer its gonna be in 2 pieces, being aluminum and all..Azraels are from like 99/00..

I had a mid at one point, didnt really like it.Mids came out around 2001.It had weird Geometry and it was heavy..The chainstays were really close together also so tires didnt fit in too good.

Sorry about the size of the picture btw I cant figure out how to fix that.

Thanks for links to the pics. Anyone have any more info and pics of some of the 99-02 frames? The Volume, Sabbath, eastern Bandit, eastern seeker. Infinity alter ego, Nirve. etc. What were the measurements and angles on most of these frames back then?

I've never seen a Morales frame in person like OSrider88's, but man those look sweet. I love the orange-ish one Chase was riding in one of the Dorkin' vids.

A frame that was new to me, I saw just yesterday in the "For Sale" section. A Homeless Porn Star. Looked good and solid, and reminded me of a Big Daddy.

Depending on one's definition of midschool, this may or may not be applicable, but STONE was asking about 99-01 frames. GT SHOW, baby. I'm actually surprised it hasn't gotten mentioned before now. Came out in '97 and was made for at least a few years. Too small and light(/fragile?) for me, but used and praised by many. A straight-up classic.

I'd post pics of my Big Daddy and my old SHOW, but cannot access my VBMX pics? All the glitches on this site are killing me today. Anyone else?

Here's some stuff...

These are some awesome pics guys and info guys. I still would like to find pics of the old Volume Mid.
The warpig looks like what I would like to get. Something that has a short rear that is tuff and can be used for everything. I would trim the dropouts though and build it up with some parts that are lite. That thing was a tank. I'm not a weight whore by anymeans but I would put it on a slite diet.

Thats the one. Any info on the specs. HT angles, cs lengths weight etc. I want to sell my KHE frame and a CW that some one gave me and try to find a mid school frame to ride.
I emailed Volume hoping to get the info years in production etc. Haven't heard from them yet.
RM125
Volume mid:

HT 19.5
CS 14"-15.5
HT 74.5 degrees
Weight is like 7 or 7.5 lbs
14mm dropouts..

They came out in late 2000 or early 01..Dunno when they stopped making them..2003?

This frame seems to be a copy of the Standard Shaman...

I have this blue one laying around..Bought it off a friend about a month ago...Ill get some better pics tomorow.
Stone
Thanks. That rear is super long. I was wanting something with a shorter rear.
cru jones 2

just picked it up at usps this morning!

After Andrew Farris stop riding it did Volume use the same name "mid" for a street frame? I posted on another forum looking for someone with experience and pics and a dude posted a street looking frame.

Any more pics of midschool flat/hybrid frames?
rick
That HAF is cool. What years were those made?
Stone
Does anyone have pics of the prototype primo frame that was mentioned on the 1st page?

Here's my 1st Generation Morales Flatland bike.
It's got amazing geometry for flat, and since it;s the 1st Gen, it has 3/8 axle dropouts, thinner tubing/dropouts, (old school style) 1' threaded Headset, and is a tad lighter than the 2nd gen ones. Great bike for all around riding too. I rode street on this as well.

this one's outfitted with parts off my 92 Ground Master - and GT Pro freestyle Tour forks.

Oh yeah.. and a flat rear tire smile.gif

i still ride a mid frame. it is longer in the front(20") and the seat stays are a bit different. it also has plate gussets on the top and down tubes. they are a little different.
