So that is an 88? I am having some of the 88 decals made this month. I'm restoring an 88 for a guy over on the Museum. If you get over there check out my post called "So what's up with Bob Morales". I have a used but decent shape GT seat if you want to pay 20 plus shipping to OZ.

It's not NOS although I wish it was. I got the main frame powder coated last week and I got the decals given to me. I tried to save the original 1988 decals but they were too far gone to save...But I did manage to save the headtube decal.
I've got a set of GT Megabite's but the side walls have a little bit of dry rot. I agree about the GT padded seat with bumpers. I'd love one but can't find them anywhere.

That GT seat sounds good but I won't be able to afford it.

I don't remember if it is a pre or post Gt era Auburn but I am thinking it is a pre-Gt era frame because it has no serial. I currently have it taken apart because I am gonna get it powder coated green like it originally was. Only changes I am making as far as parts go is different pedals, GT cranks, Auburn forks, and maybe different tires. I might need another set of Auburn bars because they have been slightly cut down. I want a 96 Auburn CR20RX with a threadless headset. I want more Auburns...

I'm pretty sure GT was making the frames for Bob Morales since day one. The original colors were Red, Black or Blue with Chromed back ends. The Kawasaki Green didn't comeout for a few years. I remember Todd racing a BRIGHT yellow one, I raced a full Chrome one.
Shoots,

Yep, that is me selling them. Getting messages like crazy on them. Work is very slow now and the extra cash is needed more than the decals. Really suck because I had wanted to get some of these for a build and they pretty much fell into my lap. Unbelievable! Oh well.

I've got a black 1988 Auburn too.....Mine is June 1988
cool.
it took us a couple months to get a black one, but i know they started doing them in small numbers after that. they are pretty rare, that early anyway AFAIK.

OK just read all nine pages.
I just got an Auburn today it is a 94.
But how can I tell if it is a CR20, CR20-S, CR20-R or CR-20-X?
Is it different top tube lengths or parts groups?
If TT length, what are the different sizes for the different models?
Sucks I think I recently sold my 94 Auburn catalog, (may have been a 96 cat).
But I dont remember the catalog though having the TT lengths or model specs.

The CR20-RX had a alloy bolt on rear that was called the "Work Link" where are the lower models all had a chromoly rear.

The only difference between the R and S were the parts packages.

Here's my latest Auburn...September 1991 CR20-RX XL frame and forks. It was in poor condition when I first got it. I stripped it back to bare metal then got it powdercoated in a similar color to the Auburn green. I polished the alloy Works Link rear and also put on a new set of bolts. Here it is so far...
