They're made by a mountain bike company called Brooklyn Machine Works. They still make them.

They are great pedals. A little heavy in the MTB. I love mine but they are not as sharp as the look. However I have never slipped a pedal. Even riding down three flights of staris with a kink.

Go with Silver the black gets scratched up too easily.

The new ones are sharp looking! (pun intended)
They look less like a block of aluminum.

Thx Btp I hadn't seen the new style ones yet.

The old style don't photograph well from flat and above. They do look cool at all other angles and super menacing looking. I love the look on people faces, "you ride those without shin gaurds!!" A couple of people won't ride my mountian bike with them on there. Can i ride that thing.....uhmm no thx with those pedals.

I have Zuzu's on my downhill bike and Crupi Pro Squares on my 20" race bike.

That said, Shinburgers are, and have always been, super cool. Really intense looking.

However, they are heavy as bricks. So the new style is really welcome. Since I race with flats, I think I'm going to put some on my new retro Quad loop. Was thinking of going w/Atomlab, but now I'm thinking the Shinburgers (ver. 2) will be a little sweeter looking.

Remember the GT "he man" or "big man" or whatever pedals? With the little Blair Witch guy in there? Those were cool...

I have always thought it looked like a little guy too. I have never heard anyone else mention it. I also never thought of Blair witch but I totally see it.

These are mine. The correct model name is Gt Elite "Big Mans". Hand polished with Nos Trog Cages on them. I still have the original cages and they are in suprisingly good shape for being the pedals I raced with last. I would then run what were NOS at the time Original Shimano Dx pedals during the week. Which I still have.

Some other really cool pedals I had:

Hutch Freestyle and Race

Sr sealed Speed Traps with Killer Cages. The almost 1/4 thick alluminum ones. The spikes are like Shinburger spikes but sharper.

The new shinburgers look like a nice redesign. I am tempted to replace my old versions.
