I found this today at the local thrift store (D.I) I go there everyday looking for bikes. It was hanging on a rack and a guy was looking it over. I'm trying to not look interested while he checks it out. He walks away and BAM, I'm headed to the check out with it. This sucker is dead MINT, there is hardly any brake wear on the back rim, it is original everything. Heres what is weird. It is pure BMX RACE but it has a freestyle seat and some smallish GT pegs on one side. The ID on the drop out is 08952061 P (can anyone ID this?)

I can't ID it, but I seriously doubt the pegs and seat came on it originally.
BITD, I had pegs on my GT Mach 1 and that could easily be a replacement seat.

Cool, score, though!! Congrats!

From the parts, it looks like the basic completes they were selling back then for three hundred something. Not a bad find! Looks like about '94 maybe? Somewhere around there.

I have an almost exact replica of that bike-minus the pegs and replacement seat.

Mine is all original, and I bought it from the original owner-he says he got his in '96. Actually, yours may be a little older, as I have Cantis on mine(but my frame does have the cable guide on the brake bridge).

0895 = Aug '95?? Looks like a stock bike with a few mods.

Robinsons can do freestyle, who needs pegs??

I picked up a frame/fork for $15 similar to that a few weeks ago, I think it's a '96. It's kind of beat with some rust through in the nooks, maybe I'll keep it to beat it.

I also picked up an earlier 90's version in much better condition that uses caliper brakes. I think I'm going to build that one up nice.

There was a '86 or so looptail on the bay for 300 that didn't sell. I really want that one, but that's just too much. And obviosly nobody else thought it was worth that much.

Durg I dare ya to wear those shorts, shirt, and shades next time we got to the park. Awsome pic, I love old pics like that.

haha, Kelly I have worse!!

I think I'd get beat up now if I showed up like that! (I do still have those original Oakley shades)

It's Drake Well in Titusville, PA, my last race until I started racing again this year. The attitude on my face is genuine, I never made it out of my motos.

I do have worse pics, doing a Wilton (but on the ground) in possibly even tighter shorts! The camera angle doesn't help!

Hey, nothing wrong with a freestyle Robinson!

Can anyone give me some Robinson F/F history? I got out of BMX in '88 so I don't really know what's up after that. I had an '84 looptail. From what I hear those went until '87 or '88? Was that the year they cut the loop? I have a '94 USA where the loop tail is cut, but the chainstay and seatstay meet and are welded. I also have a '96 (non-USA??) where the seat and chain stays do NOT meet. It also has V-brake mounts and 1 1/8" headtube. When did the forks change to the dropouts out front? What are the SST anbd Rebel? Were they complete bikes or changes in framesets?

A little year to year history would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Mark

1988 was the year the pseudo-loop began and the looptail ended. SST and Rebel were econo-completes.
