I like the look with the yellow. I have always ran my stem pads like that because I have always ran xl and xxl stems. what are your plans for your other 2 limos?
Nbl 49a
I am also part of the sideways stem pad club. For pretty much for the same reason plus it looks cooler and it covers the back of the stem better.
Plus then we can show off our Long *** Anodized Dk Stems better that way.

That looks like one the stems Stanley Robinson used to run after his Mongoose day were over.
Where did you get it?

My two early Limo's

early Limo frame, no brace behind bottom bracket

Pic kind of shows how long a Limo really is!

Andy Spurling
I made 2 of them for my pit bike. I used to own The DK Bicycle Company with Charlie. One of them is 10" long and the other is 12" long. When I bring the pitbike out I do get comments about it. Kinda funny. Also back in the '80s I was Free Agents Team Manager, in the days of May-Day, Slavik, Eudaley, The Housemans, Colleen Gomez, Hadan and so on. I took the pitbike often to races. Richie and Gary Houseman, Colleen and Cindy Ainsworth would ride it around all over.

Here's my Flying Fortress one of my first rebuilds.

Its a bit on the heavy side and very long but a good riding bike.

sweet rides Dave! thanks for sharing that oddity Andy, that is an interesting piece of history that is truly priceless.
kdw 712
dave what year is your limo without the
chainstay brace ?

i ask cos my 87 is the same
rumblerdave
I think the red one has an early '88 serial number, the Limo came out in '87 if I remember correctly?

Here's a couple of "pre-build" pics of the baby blue one...

Just a observation... but the mid school Free Agent stuff looks a lot like CW/REVCORE/BADD. MAYBE they were all built in the same shop?

Be interesting to find out.

John

I agree there are many similarities between the makers. I also see resemblence between Badd and early S&M products...
