Picked up a Robinson SST...$45. Had been upgraded with a DK stem, GT/Profile crank (175mm) and a funky center-pull brake set up. My girlfriend wants it to start racing (her idea, she allready races mtbs...she won the womens sport class at the Downieville Downhill this year), so that's what's happening with it. The chrome is not so hot, so it's most likely going to get blasted, powder coated and have v-brake bosses brazed on (NOT welded...by brazing them on, it will be very easy to remove them if the desire hits to return it to stock). I have an ex-framebuilder friend that will do it for less than the cost of one of those bolt-on adapters...so why not. This is how I got it home....

Sweet score, No amtrac though (just kidding) Personally i would not braze v brakes on it at all. I have a 990 plate and a pozi stop on my bike right now. Not that heavy and stops on a dime. My personal preference is 990's so i am a little biased.
