This is an odd place to see a 1987 or 1988 serial number on a Redline.

I want to say that this is a 1988 800PXL Redline.

That is an odd place for a SN.

don't know why, but we sold some redlines, haros and kuwaharas (all ANLUN made frames) in that '88/89 time period that had the numbers there.

That has to be an early 1988 800pxl, right. There is no other possible model for 87 and 88 that has that 5" headtube and the "round" down tube, MX frame.

What do you think it is?

that would be my guess. there was the 1987 700p (or whatever it was called then), but that would still have been half-chromed...i suppose this frame could have originally been that way, though.
