i got 2 tires the other day and I'm not sure what they are. I was never a big fan of "The Firm," so I'm pretty much in the dark. so can anyone help me with an ID and a possible age for these fellas?

I'm think that this is a GT Performer tire. the logo is 2.25 inches long.

ii have no clue about this one. it seems like the one above, but has little comp3ish knobbies on the side. the logo on this one is 1.25 inches

thanks in advance for any help!
Pauly
First generation GT tires were made by shinko in Japan. If it is a 1st gen, you should be able to find a "Shinko" logo on the sidewall. Later generation tires had the same design as the Shinkos, but they were made in Taiwan. That looks like the Tai version from here. Check to see if it says "Made in Taiwan". I believe the Tai tires were made in the early 90s... maybe the the very late 80s.

yep, both made i taiwan. Is the second tire just a variation on the first one?

The other thing is that the top tire is freestyle and the bottom is bmx. the bottom tire should have deaper tread and the comp III type knobbies on the side.
Pauly
Yeah... in the early days GT only made one design in the bottom pic. Those tires came on both the race and the freestyle bikes. Around 86 or 87, the made the freestyle specific design in the top pic.

Are you looking to get rid of the one on the bottom ? LMK if not I might have a mate for either ? Not sure ? I have to look around

i doubt im going to use either of them. i just bought them so they could be used by somebody who needed them. i was going to put them in the classifieds but it kept slipping my mind. i'll be willing to trade them for softgoods/#plates/pads from mid-school companies.
