Hi All,
I had an early 80's looptail Pk as a kid and have just bought a later model.

Can someone tell me what year this is and does anyone have any pic's of what it may have looked like new? What pads should it have on it?
I'd like to make it look new again!
Thank's

Come to think of it, I don't see too many US made New School PKs.

Hey Howard,
I also had an early 80's PK (it was stolen in late '85), and I also considered buying the bike that you just bought.
Nice pick-up.

Hi Johnny,
I think mine must have been about 80-82. From memory I had it until I was about 15 at which time I sold it to get a new mountain bike. The mountain bike cost $900.00 and would now be worth about $20.00. The PK I sold for I think $350.00 and I can't believe what they're worth now!!! Mine was polished and immaculate. No cracks, dings, rewelds or anything. It lived in my bedroom! ;-).
Bleeding!
Anyway, I guess that's life. I'm really happy to have picked up the one on ebay. Hopefully my son will grow up to appreciate it as it will eventually be his.

Mine was also polished silver and had chrome landing gear, and I had just bought a new set of pro-calss rims with Chair 8000 sealed hubs for it a couple of weeks before it was stolen. It was stolen on the last day of my school life.

I stopped racing after that. my dad did buy me a Skyway TA to replace it (which I still have, and am currently in the process of doing up), but it was never the same. Sigh. I miss my PK.
