Anybody remember Rich Bartlett's BLOCK frame and forks? I believe they were done by Cyclecraft. A friend of mine got one of the first made, we went to Woodward, it got stolen, then he got another one(which is long gone as well).

I remember they were super long and fairly heavy, but it worked pretty good for him. Anyone got pics?

didn't they make flannel padsets back in the day?

Actually, Block is still alive and well... Rich Bartlett still runs it along with the Block Shop in Palmdale. He still does pads, plates, and all sorts of clothing.

Brian, I remembered they were still doing stuff but I thought it was more toward non-bmx stuff. By the looks of their site, they're really back into BMX full swing, just not making frames.

And it said there were only 100 Block Frame and forks made(indeed made by cyclecraft). I gotta try to track my buddy's down.

I remember Bartlett had to send the frame stickers later on because they weren't ready when the frames were done. He had the Block video too. Gotta get in touch with him.

I rode for Block as a pro in the 90s, had frame #31.
Thay had a steep head tube angle... something like a 76 degree and long

I still have a copy of the Block video... As I understand it, Block survived for most of these years on non BMX business. But they are back into BMX for sure. The Block Shop is the BMX shop in there area.. They have the Block Jam happening this weekend... I went last year, it was a good time. I would go again, but I have a previous commitment.

Ron, that's cool! I do remember the head tube angle, way steep. And way long as well. My buddy when to a Block from some Redline he had at the time. Seeing him try to manual for the first time on the Block was like watching a five year old trying to do his first wheelie!

lumpy, any chance on ever getting a copy of the video? I can still remember Bartlett at his Dad's place(?) with Ministry's "Theives" playing in the background near the beginning of the video. Good stuff.

I'm really interested in scoring a set of the original flannel pads, if you can get me a set. I always wanted a set, but could never find any.

I'm particularly interested in a dark red set, if you can find them.

I've got a single orange and green flannel frame pad that came on a Homeless Mack I bought on eBay. It's so ugly that it's awesome.

I've since sent the Mack frame and some assorted parts to Tom @ Empire—I thought it belonged in Austin.
