To me, yes. There are a few bikes that are on the top of the era including Cyclecraft that seem to represent this time frame.
I have 3 FA frames, 2 of which are Limo's. I am FINALLY going to start restoring the 89' I have. It's black but i'm thinking I'm going to go with a white look w/ black trim. This would involve alot of painting but it shouldn't be that bad.
Parts I already have kicking around in my garage from the period are.....
DK xl polished stem.
GT hubs in white.
MX 1000 brake set.
Profile crankset.
I ran Powerlite bars on my FA bitd, I'm thinking on getting another set of these or just buy a set of S&M's.
I'm also thinking on lacing those white GT hubs into a set of black Rynolites.....I know the time frame isn't right but I'm not into spending a mint just to make it time correct.
Who is also thinking about restoring their Limos in the future?

Well - I was thinking of the doing the same with the Free Agent I just got. I wish it was a Limo, would fit me better, but it is just a Pro. The finish right now is chrome and looks good from a distance, but close up its pitted lightly. Never owned one of these bitd, but always liked them. I was thinking of white as well, but cannot remember any other colors they were. Anyone remember?

i have finally got my hands on a limo
its a 87 model. though it doesn't have the rear cross brace on the chainstays. It has all the other features of a limo
but of a mystery one this.
Want to run chrome and red scheme
The hubs aren't mid school so i have been told
i am also stuck with the rims
its between chrome rhinolites or red 7x's
Prob change the monster cranks for something better prob prolines or new flites/profiles
On Other colors i saw a sweet pale blue
one at the recent UK 25 year BMX meet

I may have a set of hoops that would work real well with that project... Araya 7x, chrome, never laced up...
Let me know if you are interested...

Limos sported 21" top tubes, w/ some aggressive geometry. I'm sure Galen can give you the actual numbers but I think the head tube was 74*, seat tube 72* & the forks had really no rake to them so you had a very nice, modern handling bike circa 1986.
With an xl stem & sliding your saddle back you have a modern day XL frame.
Anybody want to correct/back me up here?

Their were a lot of colors. Chrome White & Baby Blue in the mid 80's. I think Galen posted in an earlier thread that team riders got to pick their color. I think I remember some yellow frames with baby blue decals BITD.
My personal oppinion is to use color if your going to paint. Didn't see too many black frames BITD.
Since Chris b had the Baby Blue & black decals made I'm accually thing of switching the red to blue on my limo.

I saw a kid riding a old Free Agent bike the other day. Had Tuff neck and what looked like Boss cranks on it. His neighbor gave it to him. Was in really nice shape. Had the black and white writing decals on it.
looked like a expert sized bike.

What year did the script style decals end? Does anyone have pictures of factory bikes? Or frame colors? Thanks.

i've got some what appear to be free agent forks that came on a badd & company i got about a year ago, but nobody has been able to give a for sure answer if they are indeed free agent. i've got pics if someone can post them for me. the badd is from 88/89. if these are indeed free agent forks, let me know if anyone needs them, i'm open to trades or to sell them outright.
thanks.

KastanKillector I think 89 was the last year. I actually think that early 89 might have been script and late 89 were block letters. Maybe Galin will jump in and correct me.

Script style stickers ended sometime in '89. I believe it was pretty close to the beginning of the year.
I'm in the midst of a 1300 mile move-stuff is packed away-I'll get some more pics posted when I can.

I have a Free Agent not sure of the model had it powdered white. I am guessing mid-ninties its got 1 1/8 stem and the brakes are mounted behind the bottom bracket. I got it for cheap a while back and built it for my oldest boy but he said he didn't really like it. So I kept it for myself. It's got a set of 48 spoke Sun BFR rims and Bulletproof hubs, everything else is F/A. I'll pull it out and dust it off and post some pics soon. Maybe somebody can help ID it for me. I know it doesn't have the correct stickers on it but it looks good. I know one thing its long a** frame. Possible it could be an early dirt jumper
