A few years ago, a friend of mine gave me a bike, I kinda liked it cause it resembled a GT Performer, but, that's not what it is; I recently discovered what it was , because a neighbor kid bought the exact same one at a garage sale- don't laugh, just tell me; should I be looking for a new ride ? It's a 1997 Royce Union Silver Streak. It's in great condition , very light & rides well-just curious to know , is this bike even considered in the mid-school? Had a cherry 86 white Dyno Compe, all original(down to the tires) gave it to my son 2yrs. ago, & he trashed it , gave it away , & it got gave away again & was told yesterday , it made its way to the trash- I'll never do that again!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, is this an okay bike , or not ?

royce union is poopoo!
bmxbuzz
Submit it into the museum. I think it'll be the first!
yamijamiebmxmom1964
Oh well you might think it's poopoo, but, it's a smooth ride & ya never look a gift horse in the mouth, all that's left of the original is frame & fork, the bars are the old class Dyno wingbars, GT seat post clamp & araya frt rim, gold plated with a GT hub, ACS Rotor, odyssey bearclaws,& an alloy r rim, which I think is an allex, it's what ya add to it that completes the scoot man !

You were able to buy Royce Union bicycles in a department store back then. They are about in the same league as huffy and anything else walmart sells. Glad your happy though.

hey it's what you like thats cool Not what someone else says is cool. royce unions are dept store bikes but if you like it that all that matters.

Never thought of that Crusty, only prob- I'm a little too old to be starting a racing career, at 40, I do believe my he**-raisin' years are pretty much at a stall......plus , I've packed on quite a few extra pounds, since my youth; I think I'll stick to racing down my neighborhood streets & encouraging my 12 yr. old son to follow his dreams of being a freestyler & skateboarder ,he caught the itch from me- now it just needs to be fed . But, thanks for the good "rep" Royce Union ain't so bad- no worse than a Wal-Mart bought Mongoose or Schwinn & I think a better buy- not too many 'gooses make it 10 yrs. coming from Wal-Mart, my scoot has- SO BLAH_BLAH>>>

Im not that old-just not into starting something Id rather support my son in & focus on his dreams, ya know - when yall become parents, you will understand, for now yall are pups & havin fun with yourselves, add the responsibility of children & you will realize you can no longer put yourself first, their needs are more important than you wanting to do this & that. I had my fun & now am just happy to kick the dirt up with my son & seeing him excel in things I couldnt

I picked up a Royce Union Conqueror XL-900 at the local thrift store last year just for the wheels- Skyway OE's baby!

Oh yeah, it also had an ACS Rotor and a decent seat if I remember right.

I stripped what I wanted and tossed the rest, but at the time I had more than 2 dozen bikes in the basement and NO space for another.

Enjoy it...but if you want something a little more GT PM me. I have a 91 Performer F+F I'll let go cheap.
