I took this bike on as a project for a buddy of mine. He's tired of chasing his kids around on a mountain bike, and asked if I would fix up his dirt bike.

I believe this bike is an 87 (?). The only changes he made to the bike were the bars and stem. The setatpost was added on by the bike shop when he bought it BITD.

Does anyone have any information on where I could find original parts like grips, bars, declas, etc?

It says made in Japan, but I didn't think GT made bikes in Japan until later????

I also need tires...either black comp IIIs or Black Gt Logos. Thanks

they made stuff in japan for a couple of years. that's either a 1985 or 86.

The serial number might help determine the year of manufacture and where it was built.
