Sweet! Gotta love the mid school vibe going on with the Hawk frame and those Elf Blast bars.

Definately a wierd bike, but it feels pretty good on jumps. I messured and did some comparing to my Auburn. My Auburn has a bottom bracket height of 11 1/4" where as the Hawk has a bottom bracket height of 12". The bars are also about an inch shorter than my Auburn bars. Also the toptube on my Auburn is 20.75" long and the toptube is 21" long on the Hawk.

It'll take a while to get used to but it feels like speed jumping will be easy with this thing.

Edit: the bottom bracket measurement was taken from the center of the bottom bracket to the ground. The rear tires on the Hawk are 1.8 and hte rear tires on the Auburn are 1.75

Oh yeah, and the guy I got the bike from rode for a few companies in his day. From what I remember he said he rode for Skyway, Diamondback, and Mongoose. Also at one time he was R.L. Osborn's neighbor.

Thought that was interesting.

Got the bike ready to go. I have bomber pads on the neck and bars but I don't have any bomber frame pads so I threw a Diamondback one on. I'll eventually see if Shimano V-brakes will fit the rear so that the brakes don't catch onto my shoe by accident. I weighed it today and it weighs 24 pounds. Not too bad considering the tires, rims forks and bars aren't exactly light weight components.

Pretty heavy by today's standards and maybe even yesterday's standards. It's very stable though.

Parts list:

Frame: Hawk F20 XL
Forks: SE Landing Gear
Bars: ELF
Stem: DK
Brakes: Promax lever but I don't remember who made the brake arms
Cranks: sealed GT cranks that look just like early profile cranks.
Seat: Some crappy bell seat, I'm replacing it with a GT seat before I go the track
Rims: Araya Super 7X
Hubs: unsealed hubs that say Formula on them. I personally think they are crap so I will be replacing them with Suzue sealed hubs.

I personally don't think I did too bad on this score. The bikes that are desirable to me don't seem very desirable to others but oh well. I've always wanted a Hawk and an Auburn because I always thought they were cool and now I have them both and I don't regret it.

Very nice bike dude. the days I spent lusting after my brothers friends brothers Hawk is numerous to say the least.

Is that a BOMMER front bar pad? Jesus...I have been looking on ebay for the past 2 years for a set of those and can never find them. Am I just misspelling it? All of my friends in the early to mid 90s had those and I was too poor for a set..haha

Yes the bar pad and neck pad are grey Bomber pads. I can't find the frame pad so I have a Diamondback one on it that I recently got when I got back into bikes.

Nice bike, I'm a huge HAWK fan myself!
Have you seen my ride? Look on Quickev's HAWK.

Yeah I saw that a while back and it is the reason I remembered these frames. I asked some people recently if they still had their old bikes and one of them said he had his old Hawk F20 and because of the thread with your bike, I remembered what the bike was and jumped all over it.

I know this belongs in the for sale section...but, I have a near NOS Hawk Cruiser in dead mint condition for sale.....It was a display bike for a shop...never sold or ridden! If interested please E-Mail me @ kzr800@sbcglobal.net. No reasonable offer refused! must go, it is just not my thing, but it is VERY cool.
