There is a posting under the wanted section for some assistance in identifying a mid 90s Mongoose for a new member here (Zack). He's interested in trying to get his hands on one before he returns to Iraq.
If anybody can figure out what he's looking for and who might have it, it's us. Please check the thread and see if you can help.
Zack's Mongoose Description Thanks, Kit

I would have to guess that it came out in about 94, 95, 96,or 97. I seen a couple on ebay that resemble what it was but they weren't the color that I need. If anything I just want to find a picture of one. So I can do some serious searching, requesting, and posting. Thanks again guys. SGT T

http://www.vintagebmx.com/cgi-bin/ultimate...t=013482#000000 I think this the exact bike but without the orange, green and black.
The link shows an Expert, is that what you had? I believe the top of the line during that period was a cromo Solution..

I didn't notice that it was an expert. Man I'm confused now. My friend had the bike. Not me. I thought it was a menace.
It faded from orange-green-black (front to back)
Or maybe it was black-green-orange
Zack,
You said that you thought your friend's bike was a racer.
The Menace was a freestyle model. If I'm not mistaken, didn't the earlier models have some kind of standing platform? At the dropouts, the stays would have connected, but I don't think it was an actual looptail.

The menace was originally a race type model with cantilever brakes and such.
No sh*t? Then did it go freestyle/dirt, or was that the Villian?
Then I think this is it--

Has surface rust, but for $10.00 + $40.00 S&H, it's all you..

I think CW has it right. That looks like it. I remember the rear reflector being mounted like that. If that matters.
CW I probably won't buy that one because I want the one w/ black green and orange.

How do I post a picture? I found one for $25!
Is it posted online already? Is it on ebay? If it is, then it's real easy to post.
Right click on the image>Click on Properties>Highlight the URL>Copy>Use the Vintage full reply form>Click on the image tab>Paste the image URL in the box>Preview Post to see if it links up.
If it's not already posted, and just on a file in your computer, then the image will have to be hosted to show up here.

Well I went and bought the bike today. I gave him $35 because he held it for me. It's got some scratches on the paint and most chrome areas are starting to rust. I did at pretty good bunny hop on it and I think I tore it up. What are some A+ parts that I can put on it (like rims, tires, brakes, seat, chain, pedals, etc.?) Also what can I do about the rust on the chrome areas?

Just depends how much you wanna spend.
Good wheels = Sun superstock wheels
Tires = Maxxis
Brakes = Odyssey pitbull 2 or get a v-brake plate and put v-brakes on it
Seat = Anything with plenty of padding
Chain = KMC 510hx
Pedals = Some alloy platforms, you'll have alot more options if you end up putting 3 pc cranks on the bike
