Here's an old video I dug up from the 1998 NBL Cajun Classic and Central Trails in Baton Rouge, LA.

Torker was co-sponsoring the race so I went down with Clarence Perry to represent Torker. It sounded like a fun trip until I got in the 98 degree / 96% humidity air...and then tried to do laps! Coming from the NW it was a little much for me.

After Sunday's race I heard that some people were heading to a place called Central Trails. I had some time to kill before flying out, so armed with directions I headed to the trails and actually found them quite easily. The trails were built among tall, shading trees with some easy lines and a few bigger lines. All the guys were really cool and after a little while they showed me something called a bungie swing (see video), which I had never seen before.

It's a pretty large file (68mb) but it is almost 6 minutes long and should play full screen. I'm testing a new server. Please let me know if you have slow d/l speeds or any other issues...initial edit was Hi-8 to Hi-8.

Hi Mike!

My Windows Media-Player says "incorrect codec".

I think I was there at that race. I remember the heat was brutal! Didn't it rain Saturday after the races and flood the track?? Do you have anymore race footage like 16 & Over Open or 30 & Over Expert?? Thanks.

Worked for me, thanks Mike. Yeah, I was there in '98 and it did rain bad Friday or early Saturday and the on and off Saturday day.

I wonder why they dont have nationals there anymore?

I wish I could have come back with more racing footage...it was just too damn hot. I remember they had just paved the corners the previous week. mike

That was the coolest thing I've seen in a while.

is it playing full screen when it first loads?

Africa hot! That was by far the hottest I've ever been. That heat was oppressive. I remember taking a handful of amino acids and drank so much water that night. I was so dehydrated I didn't even have to use the restroom. It was so hot, you didn't want to stop moving because the breeze was better than simmering in your own sweat. Nasty.
