Some of you may have seen this before. For the benefit of bros that have not seen it, I'll post the series:
OldBMX.Com is a runaway train w/ no conductor. This is a project that evolved from the membership there. Rick says it'll be coming back, I hope so b/c I had a lot of fun there.
Stage 1-Galen Starlin is responsible for donating the stock '93 Free Agent Limo. I got the idea from a team poster he sent to me featuring Kenny May's '91 Team Limo, seen here:

Pre '90 the team bikes had the script decals and the frames were completely painted. This one shows a 50/50 chrome/candy paint scheme. Galen's pro size team frame looked the same except the front tri was black.
Stage 2-The frame was stripped and roughed up for paint.

Stage 3-I sent it to Dave(s4lnj), and he applied a beautiful coat of Mustang Laser Red w/ clear.

Stage 4-Back to me, where I stickered it up and cut the trim tape.

Stage 5-Mock up

i love it--- looks great all together
Thanks for the comments
Despite being BMX fund depleted, I have a wish list for this that would make it far more accurate.
FA box bars..... yeah right
A thick base DK pro XL
Chrome 7X's or Ambrosia hard anno rims(oh sure) on DK L/F hubs.... Derringers would work
Pro neck disc & gear 41t to a 14
Selle Turbo
Trog cages.... HA!
Maybe a 2.125 skinwall
Anything else Galen?

I still have my original one of these that Brent Shoup gave me back in the early 90's I beleive. I'll have to check the serial number on it. Anyway, the front tri is the candy blue color. I kinda did a red, white and blue thing with it. I'll post pics tomorrow.
Funny thing is in the pic at the top the dude on the far right wearing the blue socks, he always color matched his socks with the uniform. He wore yellow most of the time but cant rememember his name (Perry something comes to mind). Maybe Galen remembers. Parnell and Kenny used to make fun of him for it.

Percy Owens-was a full time NBL'er with Eagle Snacks. Free Agent picked him up and brought him in to tear it up in the ABA. I hear he's still racing NBL events.

Thats it, Percy Owens. He was hella fast and one of the most straight arrow kinda guys at the time. I stayed with the FA team at a Cali national not far from L.A. and all I remember is Kenny corrupted him on one of the nights we were there. He was never the same after that. Yvonne knew something was up when we went to dinner but didnt say anything.

I posted in some of the other threads as well. I was the other guy with Leasure when you, Parnell and Brent came to Hawaii in '88. We ran aorund and were accosted by some hookers at about 1 am on the Waikiki strip. I hate to retell the story from another thread here but some hooker asked you how old you were and you told her 18. Leasure yells out "Bean, you're not 18!" The hooker then says "Bean? Your momma named you Bean?"
Never forget it.
Check the chillin at the track in Hawaii thread that Shannon threw up. I know the Hawaiin crew here and go back a ways with Brent Shoup.

Can't believe you remember the car or close to it. You got a hell of a memory. It was a metallic blue '68 Plymouth Roadrunner with a 383 Magnum. Not bad for a high school ride.
I just remember cruising in a convertible 5.0 rental car or something like that and listening to your homemade tape with "Parents just dont understand" and "Colors". LOL! We must have listened to those two songs for hours. I think I turned you on to Ice-T's "I'm your Pusher" then. God, the music we used to listen to.
That was one of the best times I had tho. Good to see all these people still talking about this stuff. BMX made for some of the the best times I ever had.

Nice!!!! You were still riding a pro size frame??....
I didn't think you were short like Leasure!!!!

Jul 20 2005, 09:13 PM
LOL! I was actually just a little bigger than him but thin no less. I rode a limo for awhile and couldnt get used to the length for some reason. What I wouldnt give for one now. I started riding again and could definitely use the longer frame. Where's Brent when you need him? Prolly fresh out. hehe
Haven't been here in a while....
A genuine Brent Shoup Factory Team bike.... Sweeeet!
Oh, and the car? Freakin' wicked!!!

I've been there once back when they had a national maybe 4 or 5 years ago. Didn't race just caught up with a friend I used to race with out of San Antonio. It's a bit of a drive so I haven't been down there since. I might go down in the near future since I just started riding again. Trying to get the feel again after not racing for 13 years.
I just found out a new skate park was built in Allen with a 900 ft BMX track in the back. Went out yesterday to check it out and its not a really good track but enough to mess around on. It's more like a MotoX rider designed it because the jumps are so close together and one of the straights consists of rythm section about 10 hills long! The skatepark section is AWESOME! check it out at Allen park If you go out there maybe I'll catch you sometime, you know what the bike looks like so I wont be hard to miss. That and I am the only person wearing a helmet or least one with a Zeronine visor on it. It's my old Free Agent Ecko helmet from racing days.

Our team was out there for the opening of Allen.
You need to come out to Desoto for the state championship on 8-27 and 8-28. There are alot of guys 30 and over racing again . The Desoto track is super smooth. Well worth the drive plus its covered.

Whats your team? What did you think of that track? It's definitely not smooth like the DeSoto track thats for sure.

Sun Bru , were new this year , but we in the top 5 factory teams till last weekend. We dont have the budget to hit the big point nationals in Ca..
Alot of my riders go to allen for practice . Its rough but different than Desoto so good for training .
What is your full name and were did you race BITD .

Jul 21 2005, 01:50 PM
Full name: Jason Montgomery
Started in San Antonio '82 and ended in Hawaii '92. Majority of time was in Hawaii from '86 to '92.
Raced Cowtown, Seagoville (magnet gate), Capitol City in Austin, Georgetown, River City in SA, Castle Hill in SA, Gilleys nats, and a ton of other tracks in Texas all in early to mid eighties. Todd Mitchell (Titan) was one of my big adversaries way back at that time. I remeber Kevin Hull out of Austin before GT picked him up. Man it's flooding back.
The Hawaii tracks were on 3 different islands and the crew we ran with were the best.
Hey Leasure, remember Kapena falls?

I remember Todd Mitchell , If it is the same guy he was pretty good on the 1/4 pipe at DCCP.
When I show pics of that old gate from Segoville, these new riders are in shock by the size.

Dude, that would be awesome! Last time I talked to him was on the phone about 2 years ago. I got his number from Yvonne and then lost everything on my computer and lost his number as well.
PM me if you dont mind. I need to catch up with him.
Saw your Rockford pics and man looks like you still got it! I went out yesterday to a small non-sanctioned track and surprised myself. Didn't think I would take to it that quick after 13 years. Definitely not like it used to be but fun no less.
