So I was just reading and adding to the HAWK topic and starting to think about "Team Wild Child"

I know they had a pretty good run for a few years in the mid 90's but it was before I came back to BMX and before I was involved with UFO.

I know that's where the Neon "Alien" Green thing got started for UFO.

I heard a few stories about WILD CHILD and even spoke to Roy Little about starting the team up again when I purchased UFO in late 2003.

Does anyone have any old pictures, old stories, any of the old team riders out there?

I would love to learn more about the "Team Wild Child" experience; good bad, anything you got.

I also got to see one team riders picture in the huge collage of photos in the reception area at the ABA's office in Gilbert that was neat to see. Thanks for the tour Shannon.

So what do you know?

they had a kid named Cody Jo. At a state race at Whittier Narrows he kept getting in to the inflatable bouncer that was there for the little kids and kicked my kid who was 6 at the time.

They also had these two girls, one was a pro, and she (the pro) hung a right coming out of the second turn at Perris (which was a left) to exit the track mid way and took out my son when he was 5.

Thats about the only things I can remember about the team except they wore purple, pink and bright green gear and had Mike Weatherford riding for them. (Weatherford was a cool kid)

it would have been around 2000-2001

one of the jersey comapnys, whos ad is in the back of the BMXer magazine, had Wild Child jerseys on their website, not sure if they have changed that or not by now.

They were a cool team, they had a big flourescent green box van too if I remember, sorry the two negative things came up first but those were the first things I remembered. I cant remember who the rider my sons age on the team was, maybe Conner Pankratz ran a Wild Child jersey for awhile but Im not sure

No probelm, I did ask for what ever you've got..

Gavin Wells, Mike Weatherford, Anna Appleby were some of their team riders in their heyday.
bnd
Anna won the ABA #1 Ladies cruiser title while riding for them.

Butt ugly uni's for sure. They did have a strong team for awhile. I think Henrik Balterzen rode for them too.

bmxmom1, bnd do you know which years?

You're asking a lot of an old lady's memory but I'm thinkin '97-'99? Lots of those guys were pals/competitors to my son. Was a pretty big team also. Think they had both factory and bike shop teams. They won the bike shop title at least one year if I remember right.
Lori
I have a lot of pics of Michael. I will dig them out of someone wants to host them.

Lori...send em on over.

Please send them Lori.

Thx,

The infamous Roy Little as the Wild Child owner/TM. Not enough time to type up all the stories I have about the Wild Child gang. They definately lived up to there name.

UtahLori,

Any luck with the pictures?

Craig-Lori's busier than a one armed paper hanger right now...has a whole gang staying at her casa for the ABA SLC Nat'l this weekend, plus remodeling her kitchen at the same time. Don't worry, I'm sure she'll get to em soon!

Bump.

Lori? Anyone?

I really want to grab on to some of those stories or photos to fill in some of the history; the chapters of UFO's past before I came into ownership 2003.

I haven't forgotten. I am just going to have to re-hook up an old comp that has a floppy to find them and because of medical issues, it may be awhile.

Sorry for the delay. You have PM.
