Maybe you guys can help me... I have a dyno that appears to be a bmx frame and fork.. it has the center pull brakes on the back,1 1/8 threadless head set,and the big seat post.. the only stickers left on this bike are flatoval, designed by dyno built by gt , and 380 degree drop out.... I have posted this in other forums...but no one seems to know what this thing is......Any help would be great...

Any pics? Is there a D stamped on it anywhere, dropouts mainly.

Well it's one of 2 frames, a VFR or a Nitro. The only differance between the two, that I know of, is the VFR is full 1020 Hi-Ten steel and the Nitro was a 4130 main frame. Post some pics, that might help.

It's probably a VFR. As far as I know they didn't make a Nitro like that.

Does it say full 4130?

Could be a Dyno NSX-but, I'm not sure if the were hi ten steel or 4130, either that, or it's like the others said , a VFR. Good luck, you can also contact the company & they might be able to ID it with the serial #'s, even so it's nice looking & worth fixing up !

i have a dyno nitro just like that!
looking in my 1998 gt catalog.....
the only difference between a nitro and a vfr is the nitro has 4130 chromo maintubes, the vfr is just hi tensil steel.
also the nitro has 1-1/8" threadless stem/forks, the vfr has 1" threaded.
AARONS NANA
we have a DYNO vfr, that is aluminum,,,completely stock..don't know what year?

That looks nothing like my VFR

Not sure exactly what year it is but this is the first of 3 VFR's that I own. This is set-up for the street (I took the pegs off the front). It is all original except for the grips, seat, cranks, sprocket and tires. I have the original cantilever brake for the back just dont have it on yet.

Here is #2 - This I built to race and rides very good it is the exact same frame as the 1st only its an 1 1/8 headset. It also has the cantilever type brakes on it.

And finally #3 - This one is a bit older than the first. This was one of my first builds from a few years ago and still one of my favorites. This one rides just as good as the other two and everything is either Dyno or GT.
Actually at the time I took this pic I had the forks off of the street bike on here while I fixed the threads on the other forks that go with this bike.
